Ok, here’s the deal with this one. Just about everyone gets the mounting of the backpack wrong. You have to pop the head off and mount the backpack UNDERNEATH the pauldron. Then put the head back on. It looks a thousand percent better! The straps fit flush to the armor, the pauldron isn’t covered up, and the arm/shoulder articulation is much better. Give it a try….😬. As for using this as a regular grunt Stormtrooper, the lack of painted abdomen dots really kills that idea for me. I think this figure looks incomplete and cheap without those paint apps. That said, the backpack and pauldron are pretty awesome so when outfitted it looks killer. 🤷🏻♂️
Haha, yeah I did look at references for the backpack and actually saw that, was gonna leave it for the upgrade video, and couldn't be arsed for the review as I got so many to get through lol. With the buttons they didn't have them in the movie, I'm guessing they was trying to copy sand troopers who didn't have them sections added when filming.
I wish YT let youbpost pics in the comments. I'm new to upgrading figures, but the job I did on his backpack is by far the best job I've done to date. The difference is night and day. I'm very proud of thr job I did. Too bad toundont really get to see it as its in the back. Cant wait to see what you do to this figure.
I'm all in for the Troopers, Rebel, Clone and Storm. A few extra hit of paint will make this even better. You could swap his gear onto the Remnant trooper and he'd look like he'd been on patrol in the wilderness. Or paint the pauldron black or white etc for different ranks. Ali Express do a knock off that looks just like this, and an officer with an orange pauldron.
@@CenturionsCorner Hope you do. I'd like to see how they stack up. I just received a Phase 2 shiny clone trooper from Ali Express yesterday. 1 week and 3 days from China. Well chuffed. I'm thinking of painting it as a custom fig. Any suggestions? I thought a simple paint scheme like the 442nd, which is the same as the 212th but green instead of orange.
I have two of these, one I keep as is and the other I painted the shoulder blue. Great figure this with so many opportunities for Stormtrooper variants like the flame trooper or the mortar trooper. This figure could go on forever. I have to say as well I got Sargent Kreel and was on the fence on if I would bother or not, having got him he is now one of my favourite figures.
I bought this one to use as one of the Stormtroopers Boba Fett fights on Tython.
very cool!

Easy enough to add paint to the dots and to the thermal detonator.
VERY TRUE!
I got this far easier than the regular one... and by easier, I mean I have ONLY the Jedha version!
Haha indeed! and if you are out of a box collector buy 2 and take all his gear off lol
