I inherited an old Springfield Armory 1894 chambered in 30-40 Krag that my Grandfather hand made the stock out of a piece of Black Cherry, it is an absolutely beautiful piece of wood accented with an elk shoulder bone butt plate and a cattle horn pistol grip cap. I don’t shoot it because ammo is hard to find but I love it. Cherry is such a gorgeous wood.

It’s hard to get anything around here over 4/6 inches round. And if you do find anything it’s bent like a pretzel. Good job you guys
@@MsdMakingSawDust this cherry tree was beautiful. We got 4 straight logs 8'6" long and 2 with some sweep in them. This tree was 18" at the base and tapered very little. Our property boarder's State Forest and there are cherry trees there that are 100' tall and 30" diameter. Makes me drool every time I see them.....😜
