The first song is a magnificent cover of a classic from the great Charles Aznavour. He was the first to defend the LGBTQ community with this song in the early 70s! Lara had some gay friends who suffered from ostracism and she also defended this community. She was ahead of the curve herself with her hit song La Difference in the mid 90s. She battled to sing this song in Russia despite political and police pressure. And later she wrote another song on the same theme: Deux Ils, Deux Elles. She also performed at some Pride events.
There was no LGBTQ community in the 70s. That is historical revisionism & presentism. There were same-sex attracted men & women who were reviled, beaten, raped, had their children taken away from them. All for being same-sex attracted. The TQIAP2SMKZ+ of today, "the community", are the very ones telling h0m0sexuals they are "sexual racists" and "bigots" for not opening beds & bodies to people of the opposite sex who declare a special gendered soul that magically makes these het3rosexuals "gay" too. Lesbians have been a particular target for years & years. The "community" is explicitly & frothingly homophobic now. Ever heard of "The Cotton Ceiling?" It's horrifying.
I could write a book about this concert. She is at peak of her artistry. What Angie said that she can picture sewing machine in her head its because Lara is master in word painting and she does everything in the service of the song. And you only started with the show. By the end you will be blown away
This song is a very famous song of the great french singer Charles Aznavour. this song is about the life and thoughts of a young homosexual guy who is a streaper. Ch Aznavour wrote this song in the 70's cause he was disgusted by the way some people and the society treated gay people
congratulations, of all the reactions to Lara, yours are always my favorites. the two songs are both two covers; the first of Aznavour also famous in Italy also because he has made many songs also in Italian, the second you have already heard is by Lucio Dalla who was inspired by the last days of life of the tenor Caruso. I have always said that she could have been an actress she is very good, then in 2003 she was very fragile she had suffered love disappointments but also the disappointment of her career in the usa, besides she had cancer and eating disorders, but her big heart and her great soul and strength allowed her to come out of it especially thanks to the birth of her daughter Lou in 2007
Rollen and Angie, thank you for another instalment of this wonderfull concert by Lara. You may not remember, but you did react to "Caruso" before from her "Fom Lara with love" concert. In keeping with the title of this concert, this version was a little slower, but in no way less passionate. Angie knows what an incredible but humble person Lara is. Another shout out for the channel of "Lara the ring Fabian" who provided the subtitles. Gaby has many interviews (with subs) of Lara, some showing her zany humour and others recalling events that have shaped her career. I thoroughly recommended them to you. Once again it is a pleasure to be in your company, watching Lara. Phil in Scotland
In "Comme ils disent"... The line is difficult to translate as it plays on the "sound alike". In French the line is "Je suis un homme - oh! comme ils disent" which translates to "I am a man - oh! as they say" but "...homme - oh!" sounds like "homo" - a play on words likely made to avoid censorship at the time of the original song - early 1970's.
You have to watch this concert to the end! You've never heard "Je t'aime" & "Je Suis Malade" performed like this! Please watch and we will get 1000% of emotions together with you!
I'll have to come back and give careful comment on the first song later. It's a subject that is my main focus in life and has been for years. For now I'll just say I don't want people to believe the story here reflects the contemporary situation. This character is not emblematic of the supposed rights movement today. An ideology that is severely harming children, women, h0m0sexuals and actual tr@nss3xuals. (I have to misspell those two words, because TH-cam has decided we can't use those very precise words to describe ourselves in distinction from het male fetishists who wrap themselves in our 🏳️🌈 but eshew medical transition because it would put a damper on their personal pleasure.) The extremely sympathetic & tragic figure of this song is NOT anywhere near the same as 90%+ of those making societal demands today. The colonizers, in fact, are among the most cruel to tr@nss3xuals whom they call "Truscùm".
Rolland and Angie . . . This song by. Charles Aznavour. . . . Many many years ago . . . I LOVE LARA’S CHOICES IN THE SONGS SHE SINGS ... “ THE INCOMPARABLE LARA “ 😃🥰👍🏾👍🏼👍🏽❤️💋
You are a nice guy but you talk too much and focus too little on the screen Rollen sweetheart. Is it so difficult to pay more attention to a video my man? Not even when beloved Lara is performing? ❤
It's about Angie and I the music is second - I was starting to think most everyone knew that - Sorry, we are just not the reactors for you, I would think. No disrespect, just saying!

Hello. "Comme ils disent" is a song from Charles Aznavour. It has been released during the 70's. The context was quite différent...
Lara is a great defender of the lgbtq community
A wonderful song by Charles Aznavour and a wonderful performance by LARA

Yes, you both reacted to her Caruso from the From Lara With Love concert very early on.
So ahead, that the song is from the 70s!!
I wonder where Lara ranks on the net ? ❤️❤️❤️❤️💋💋💋💋💋👍🏼👍🏽👍🏾🌍🌏🌎
It's "man" no "homo". I think it's important for understand the song.
