  • I shopped around and this machine was by far the best bang for my buck. In this video I pick it up and put it to the test on a large lot clearing job.

You probably already know this but the weight of the machine listed on the name plate is for the machine itself, it does not include the weight of the quick coupler, bucket(s) or thumb (+thumb cylinder & hydraulic lines), as those things are not permanent and may change depending on how you set it up for any given job. And I think you had 2 buckets there when you picked up the machine. There is a good bit of weight in those components for sure. Enjoyed the video.

I just got put into a Sany 215 for the next 6 months. Not a bad machine so far, it has 1,800 hours and still has 3 years on the warranty.
The drives are a bit jerky, and the hydraulics aren't the smoothest, but pulling power and bucket breakout are good. Weak for pushing.
The engine is a Cummins 6.7L and the pumps are made by Kawasaki.
Honestly, quality seems very good. Time will tell though.

Hey quick tech tip 😉 you can screw the joystick a part and turn the little plate with the two buttons and the thumb wheel 90 degrees. Cat had used the same joysticks thats an easy thing. And the blue protections on the cylinders are the shipping protection I wouldn't use them while working. Dust can come into this protection and can damage the cylinderrod and the seals.

Those SY95's weigh between 20k and 22k, and you can use the steps on the side of the track carriage to chain it down. The welds are strong enough. My husband hauls Sany's often for work

That new machine is quiet. Appreciated the short in-cab demo of the Sany. Amazing how much power and capability it has. Was expecting a video only on the F450 and you’ve taken the time to show the Sany - that’s cool! Love these machines. At 21:30 you pulled that stump out easily. You must have ICIS in your GoPro - but the tractor seems smooth - not tossing you around in cab - image is steady. Keep making the excavator vids.

Ok, so I watched some of your other videos. Sure wish you would have stuck with Kubota as Japan is an ally. Noticed you are Canadian. I just bought a Wallenstein log winch. Made in Canada. Love it. For what its worth I just bought a CAT 304. Did prior research. Even called Caterpillar. My machine was made in Athens GA and the CAT engine was made in Texas. Do a TH-cam Search and you will see the Athens Cat plant with Americans at work. I don't have a problem Japan politically or with Kubota who makes excellent products.

Cabin climate control is often a weak point with some new machines. you were operating it with the door open... is Bad cabin pressure and AC the reason?

Nice job. Was wondering what kind of price you put on a job like this in NS? Do you price it by the hour or job? I live in another province just curious how it compares over there.

I’ve got Cat excavators. But, they are common, large machines. When it comes to smaller machines, I’m not above an IHI/Kato, Takeuchi, or Yanmar. I’d even be willing to scope this brand out of I can see a long term parts promise. I live in Georgia. If these are made here....it could be an advantage for me. But, I’ve heard lots of bad things about this brand. But that could just be armchair warrior propaganda also. I think Yanmar is also in Georgia. iHi has been a robust Japanese machine. You have to get machine parts from Kentucky but I’ve heard you can get every piece in a day or two. I’ve heard the IHi Kato dealer in Kentucky is super nice and friendly. Japan excavators are most all good. So, this brand intrigues me being from China. Or, the parts. If I was to buy this brand new.....I’d have to have a promise of a recall or updated fix for the delay in thumb hydraulic speed issue. No way I’d put up with that long term on a brand new machine without a factory update. Also, it is impressive in the price difference between this and Cat. The price gap would pay for a roto-tilt system on the end of the stick. Now that would be slick! Anyone ever see a Sany with an Engcon system on it??????

I have an ihi 35 I love the machine. They have dealers through the us. I have one here in Vt. The home office in Kentucky is great to deal with. They are very knowledgeable.
