WW2 is a bot of a sensitive topic in Japan, so it made sense for ASCII to change the name of the countries n this game. Why they didn't change the name of the ships involved as well is beyond me, though.
neat that it comes with the map and little ships, even as useless as they turn out in practice. couldn't help but notice all the kamikaze missions going on, though... not sure this would be my cup of tea though.
I wouldn't have given this game a second thought if not for your series. Now I want to see if I can get this game boxed with the map and lil ships.

I read The Rising Sun: The Decline and Fall of the Japanese Empire, 1936-1945 and yeah this is the most Japanese tactical game I've ever seen

I really don't know why all ww2 games set in the pacific with a focus on navies, always remind me of Evangelion, a mystery never to be solved^^
most are japan made and the navie were cool the army were warcrimes
they made a midway game without hiryu... WHA
