It’s always been weird to me to call businesses “woke” when it’s simply attempting to bring in more customers/money. Yeah, they can crash and burn when they pivot away from the “original” audience, but it’s not suddenly becoming “liberal” or “anti-conservative”. They just want more money.
Its not because they crash, its because when they crash they blame the customers for not buying a product and then double down on the changes and wonder why the customers don't come back.
@@melissawickersham9912 Its not that we don't believe they aren't doing it for the money. It's we can't believe that when it doesn't work they blame us for not buying, then do it again, rather than admit they might of misjudged the market.
@@stevenscott2718 Corporations simply don’t care about being woke or not, even though they may say that they do. Corporations aren’t people. Profit is always the main goal. As a rule of thumb, Corporations are only as good as their mission statements. Corporations are simply soulless constructs.
Right! and as cheap and transparent it may seem, it does show this messaging is far more popular now at least, cause you know if it were more profitable to just go full F-slur homophobic and transphobic they 100% would just openly do so. So at the very least these corporations are proving that acceptance is winning.
The most telling aspect in all of this: Arguing that “power fantasies” in any form of fiction or gaming are “unrealistic” or “pandering” when applied to different ethnicities, genders, disabilities, or sexualities. I mean, that’s the bottom line right there, that power fantasies can only apply to their own demographic. That’s bigotry. It’s extremely transparent.
As an alcoholic who has been in recession for years, it is amazing to see a promotion of alcoholism by people who say they are religious. Finding an anti-alcohol group that isn't religious is so difficult in North America, and then you have these idiots who define alcoholism as a part of Christianity.
The Bible explicitly warns that there will be fake Christians. Heck the Bible warns that there will be fake Christians who didn't know that they were fake Christians. This occurs when someone knows and understands the word of God but wants to indulge in a particular sin so badly that they delude themselves into believing God supports it. Deep down they know the truth but they lie to themselves so much eventually they believe it.
How did I ever let myself be a fan of these guys EDIT: I want to thank everyone for sharing their stories with me and I am glad to hear that you are all doing better
Can’t believe more people aren’t talking about the fact Benny Johnson outed himself by complaining about homosexual ads appearing on a military news website. Dudes lack of knowledge about how algorithm works resulted in him accidently coming out of the closet.
@CoconutCreama-dm9jn Ads like that are normally based on your algorithm and it was advertising a gay cruise. Also the guy used to write for BuzzFeed so ya he's probably gay or at least bi.
People like Tyrone Magnus were always conservative. I highly recommend that you guys look up his review of the Suicide Squad from 2016. There's a part of his review when he asks another reactor if he thought it was weird that they were making the Joker gay. The other reactor is like "uhhh...no." Tyrone then moves on with the rest of the review. The thing is....the dude watched the movie and the first thing he though of was "omg, they're making Jared Leto's Joker gay!" That's crazy for 2016
It Joker in The Suicide Squad wasn’t Gay though Pretending in Arkham city the video game, Joker did tell Batman to bring his sweet ass to him so that was always his homo eroticism between the joker and Batman but if you read a book titled the seduction of the innocent, German psychiatrist actually said that the Batman character was a gateway to child delinquency and homosexuality so it was always there Plus, the joker wearing make up and always dressing purple kind of implied that he was at least if anything bisexual
No, thats incredibly valid, you're pointlessly changing the sexuality of a well established character, how is that even a "conservative" observation, literally anyone who is a fan of DC would call that odd if nothing else.
@chandllerburse737Your inability to take a homoerotic joke doesn't a gay character make, you're reaching, and the better question you're clearly not asking: to what end? Why is a character that has never been depicted as gay, suddenly made gay? For who, for what?
@chandllerburse737Not caring about a woman who worships him means he's a selfish lunatic, not gay, and distilling down his relationship with batman to a gay one is not only lazy writing, it flatly ruins complex character relationships to make a superficial SJW change that no one is asking for and adds nothing.
I don't like spoilers because ruining them effectively turn your first viewing into a second. For instance with Fight Club, you watch it the first time and you don't know what the twist so you make all the usual assumptions that the filmmakers expect you to, but then the twist happens and suddenly you see the whole movie and the characters in a whole new light. The main character in Fight Club is seen in a completely different light once you know what the twist is but if you already know what it is going in then that initial experience wouldn't exist for you. This is especially true for video games. Imagine playing BioShock or Knights of the Old Republic for the first time already knowing what the big twists were, the story wouldn't have anywhere near as much impact because it relies on the player having their mind blown by this revelation just as the main character is.
When Critical drinker did an entire video on Gina Carano getting fired, and referred to her as a "brave princess" analogy, I knew his brain was conservative mush
@@joshthurau3166 hes since been on Daily Wire and interviewed by Ben Shapiro. How anyone could think that Drinker is anything but partisan conservative is beyond me
As an ex conservative, let me provide some definitions of these conservative words for non-conservative people: "Woke/Wokeism"-adj. To have embraced secular egalitarianism and/or non-christian values. "The Message"- noun. The promulgation of secular egalitarianism and/or non-christian values. Alternatively, by "wokeism", conservatives could also mean "the systemic ostracization of european/eurodescendant Christian men." Basically theyre a bunch of "white" Christian Nationalists who are salty because they're losing the culture war.
Is it egalitarianism when minorities are replacing hwite people on every level? I don’t care if they are there tbh but it’s boring in entertainment when there’s no story or character development and it’s just to say “Minorities and women can do stuff too, you know!” Yes we know. Where is the interesting story or at least something that makes you think?
@@AutomaticDuck300 okay. you're making two different arguments there. The first one, is what's known as "Great Replacement Theory", i.e. the belief that indigenous and non-eurodescendant people are replacing the eurodescendant population. That argument is rooted in eugenics and ethnonationalism, and is in my opinion grossly immoral. The second argument you made is that of declining entertainment value, and has absolutely nothing to do with the first argument you made. (This is why people are calling these content creators far right shills.) The decline in entertainment value can be explained far more easily by Nepotism than by DEI. That is to say, that the entertainment value of films and games ect, isn't declining because of the ethnicity of the people making them. It's declining because the people making them only got there due to family or social connections, not through merit. Even DEI pulls from qualified applicants, they don't just pull a random minority off the streets and give them the job LMAO The truth has nothing to do with race or gender, you simply have scripts being written by people who don't know how to write stories, but do have a director for a dad and a producer as an uncle.

But sometimes it’s simply a different way of doing things. And yes, nepotism and clueless writers might play into it. But you can’t deny that everything is political these days. People just want to be entertained. Not constantly have their worldview challenged. And that’s the issue. People seeing the process of changing people’s worldview as their moral imperative and responsibility. Entertainment is there to entertain. Nothing beyond that is obligatory. In terms of Velma getting renewed, at least the animation crew behind it (The ones putting in the most effort) have more jobs in a climate where animation is getting fucked over the most.
Also, wasn't Velma renewed for a new season before the first one had wven released? I'm oretty sure it was just the company behind it being idiotic and placing a huge bet on the big name behind the project.
@@IwonaKlich i thought 'new he-man' was Revelation(2 part split) then another new one (same continuity)called Revolution (might also be a 2 part split) not to mention the various 3D-CGI ones
@ng i've heard both it was renewed early and it was a 2X order to be delivered in batches of X (ie we want 18 episodes give us 9 this year 9 next year) so either way yes.
I'm aware of the critical drinker from a few years ago. I mostly ditched his content because I found his monotonous rants irritating, but I understand his content has gotten a lot more overtly snowflakey about what he gives out about. I'd never heard of Nerdotic, but a couple months ago I got pushed a few of his videos by TH-cam due to my interests (80's/90's pop culture). He was reviewing some movie I would have been interested in, so I clicked into it. Didn't take long for me to realised the review was in service of some anti woke hot take. Out we go, "Don't recommend channel".
He really does try to. And actually succeeded in a couple videos here and there. But even in those you can tell by the company he keeps. Nerdrotic is a genocidal fascist. Nobody sane would associate with him unless they share those views, secretly or not.
He manages to come up with more introspective opinions on the things he discusses, but I think the new Peter pan movie review is an excellent example of how he gifts. At the end he makes a good breakdown on what made Wendy a good character in the original movie without a tone of irony or sexism, but then the other 80% of his video is subtle jabs at any notion of "girlboss" and anger at "modern audiences", a term he regularly uses as a dogwhistle against the blue-haired-feminist archetype. He is, very simply, one of the many right wingers who cannot stand "woke" ideology and cannot fathom how those ideas are appealing to a majority of Americans while at the same time ignoring how Hollywood's failure to capitalize on this mindset doesn't make the mindset bad. So he whines about girl bosses, or how Bryce Dallas Howard isn't fit enough for his male action fantasies, and quite frankly just sounds like an insecure wimp. People like him don't get that dedicating your platform against "woke" is what that south park episode made fun of
Definitely crypto bro podcast vibes. "You know, i bought a lambo yesterday 95% off, the owner of the dealership said that listen to my podcast rich guys and beer with Johnny Billions and did 27 billions last week with my advice. But as soon as i get home i was thinking, nah, i should buy a Ferrari instead. I'll fly in my private jet to Italy to get one tomorrow, stay tune"
So weird he mentions Mindy Kaling at 2:00 and the manipulation and essentially profiteering from the culture war for corporate gain - that is the exact plot of an Its Always Sunny episode, guest starring Mindy Kaling (Make Paddy's Great Again, season 13 episode 1.) 4:30 I had Critical Drinker figured out years ago.
@lMoonI I was making a joke by pretending that you were angry about taxes and Vaush's perverted obsession with them and not his particular tastes in hentai. Point is you need to recognize genuine misogyny and bigotry and not fire off at obvious jokes with no ideological underpinnings that are adverse to your world views. You're wasting anger and wasting energy, you aren't convincing anyone to adopt the views that I'm sure we both share.
Well the hero is the face, calling them babyface is sort of an inside joke about face characters who are like really obnoxiously and unbelievably ‘good’ by normal standards
@@Psyclone542 Then it was most certainly intentional that he used that name as Babyface is an insult so, it would fit whatever buzzword he used to rage against, while the Heel is more popular if well-written despite being less liked than the Babyface since the Babyface is as interesting as stale bread while the Heel is interesting and develop in multiple ways. The thing with these grifters is that its always about "winning" or "beating" something, because theyve never actually achieved a single thing in their own pathetic lives
Back when it first came out, I tried sharing this PoG video on a discord server I frequent. There are a handful of people there who frequently post videos from some of those chud, anti-woke grifters, and I wanted to have a conversation and bring in that video to try and get through to some of them about how they're being played like a fiddle to just unthinkingly hate and complain about supposed "wokeness". I was immediately met with a wave of personal attacks and defensiveness about how reputable the Critical Drinker is, and totally not a manipulative grifter. It happened so fast that there's no way those people even bothered watching the video at all, and were just reflexively offended by the thumbnail and title. Due to that, it's dawned on me that a ton of the fans of these channels (as well as of more overtly right-wing political commentators/politicians) don't even want to entertain the thought that they might be wrong or are being duped. Especially if that means getting stripped of an easy source of hatred and petty cynicism, feelings they've become addicted to.
This is a terrible video to share, the guy immediately starts to insulting people, assuming demographics, and misrepresenting arguments. Find a better video to share that counters arguments, this video does not contribute to any meaningful discussion.
I don't think Velma was a very good example of the anti-woke crowd jumping on a bandwagon, mostly because almost nobody liked that show. Plenty of apolitical or even left-leaning content creators made negative videos about that show (CPuffPerson and Cynical Reviews are two mostly apolitical channels that made pretty good reviews of Velma. If I had to guess at their politics, they both seem at least moderately socially progressive). Yes, the anti-woke people definitely got on that train, but most people who might review animated media jumped on that train as well. Sure, the show definitely openly baited the anti-woke crowd, but that was only the cause of a small fraction of the backlash. There was at least as much backlash on it trying to cynically cash in on a nostalgic property, the complete butchering of the characters, its poor attempts at social commentary, the terrible attempts at humor, sexualizing minors, and even it insulting adults that like animation. There were even some commentators on the left who ripped on the show's representation of minority groups. Hate watching was definitely a lot of the reason for its commercial success, but only a small fraction of that came from conservatives I think the backlash to something like Steven Universe, Legend of Korra, Captain Marvel, or She-Hulk would've been a better example (not that there aren't people who dislike these for valid or invalid apolitical reasons, but a lot of the hatred of these are because of anger at their inclusion of LGBTQ people or women). I get that a couple of those examples are a bit old, but you'll find plenty of people that will still rant about how terrible they are because they are "woke."
Honestly, The Legend of Korra is horrendously underrated and misunderstood show. And it is actually more relevant than ever (especially when you realize that every villain represents some form of fascism).
Here's the thing with all these content creators, they immediately go to calling something Woke when it flops but then when it does well its magically not woke. They also call things Woke as for the reason for failure, when that isn't the reason for it failing. I noticed them all going after the new Suicide game and the reason it failing being because its woke, and then they show a clip to prove their point. However the reason for the games failing, has to do with its glitch fest launch, along with its horrible game play Hell when you playing the game you don't even care about the story, because the point of the game is to just shoot everything, and it does that worse then other games of the same type. Perfect example of their lies to get you to think a certain way.
I agree with youre point however there response to youre point would be that the reason suicide squad was so buggy and bad was because it spent all its time on wokeness rather than making good gameplay
@@whitefang-zm9ztI'm pretty sure the stuff remotely woke is so much easier and cheaper to do than the actual programming, and I doubt a lot of thought was put into those either.
@@whitefang-zm9ztdefinitely not true, the bottom line was that the team behind the game were incompetent and the game quickly into development lost sight of any real vision. I don't even know any "woke" stuff in the game.
@iC Problem is a lot of these companies think they can get rich quick from making a looter shooter. Suicide Squad is a very bare bones looter shooter with the Suicide Squad theme tacked on to bring in Dc fans. When you playing you can't even tell the characters apart, because every character can use the same guns. These character should be unique from each other when using them. When you get to the story bits, the story is so disjointed that you don't care. The only way you could pick out something was woke, is if your just watching story clips, and that is exactly what these channels are doing. Also my counter argument would be that based on their definition of Woke, Spider Man Miles Morales should be considered Woke by these reactionaries, but because its fun and well liked its not. That's really what its all about, they only nitpick the woke aspects when something fails and is doing bad, but if something does well and is well liked those woke aspects that they would pick out are not their anymore.
Critical Drinker is more "mask-on", eh? And yet I saw right through him the second I was first exposed to his channel, which was well over a year ago. Granted... At that point I guess his mask had already been slipping since you mentioned it had been happening for a while.
These channels are losing steam more and more. These fools have oversaturated the market so much with the same content. They will continue to lose when people wake up on how easy the grift is to debunk.
Pillar of Garbage is a pretty good channel and Deadpool and Wolverine is going to be fire af thank goodness I left the Grift tube I wouldn't mind watching a nerdrotic Xanderhal debate ngl
@AChamblee87 Yeah, it is quite better instead of hating everything from star wars marvel and dc. I enjoy it except for a few things, but those are just from a few personal criticism
When Ron DeSantis started using the term woke 4 years after anyone seriously referred to themselves as being woke it became a meme. He made the new calling card for boomers.
Right-wing grift can have long legs too. It's just that it's super cult of personality type of thing for those who really make it big and works better for captive audience than in a place like TH-cam, where people chase clout and new injection of hate or happiness every week. Rush Limbaugh made this kind of stuff for daily radio for decades.
wait I thought Heel vs Babyface would be a pro wrestling reference, because calling himself "Bad Guy vs Good Guy" is ever so slightly lamer than what he actually picked
22:49 i don't understand this mentality of these people like Critical Drinker and Nerdrotic, this fear of their nerdy franchise getting wider appeal and becoming mainstream. I was born in the final days of 1986 and grew up in the 90's and early 2000's. I was into star wars and video games but whenever I was at school or surrounded by other kids, I felt like the odd one out 'cause I never got the impression that anyone was into star wars and video games. I've heard other kids crack some jokes, like how star wars was lame and stupid or how certain video games sucked and the like. with the other kids making it look like only lame losers would be into that stuff. guess who was into these things? me. you know how I felt growing up? Incredibly alone. obviously i had some friends growing up, same as every kid, but it took a few years before I met another kid that liked Star Wars enough to be willing to meet up with me so we could geek out together. we'd only do it if were by ourselves at each other houses though, we never did out in public or at school out of fear for being made fun of. I did wear a couple of Star Wars themed T-Shirts and stuff to school back in the day and although I was never picked on or made fun of, most other kids, especially most of my classmates, weren't super excited to hang out with me otherwise. you got any idea how depressing and soul crushing that is? to feel alone and have maybe only one other kid to be in the same things you are? it sucked... fortunately the advent of the internet helped and I made a whole lot more friends and have a better social life (and self confidence too) ever since I got online... but man... the things I would have willingly given up so i could have grown up with more people being into the same things i was, to be able to geek out about star wars in public at school with other friends... man, i would have given so much to experience that... so yeah, fuck people like Nerdrotic and Critical Drinker who whine about their oh so precious "secret club" of whatever fandom they adore losing its spark becoming mainstream. I would have killed to have Star Wars be more mainstream when I was growing up and to make more friends through my love of star wars.
Sorry you had to go through that, I was also a lonely nerd growing up but I beat it by niche-ing down. I learned more about the people who make these things, eventually getting into art and indie music, where the groups are more about self expression and skill, not about selling to a crowd or being part of an in-group (both are indicators of corporate interference). Critical drinker and the like come from the sentiment of being dissatisfied with an entertainment product and not having an outlet to express it, it's that simple. Hating them is hating the same type of person we used to be.
From where I sit, and this is an extremely personal opinion, it comes down to two factors why chuds like CD and Quartering and the rest of the outrage farm brigade gets so pissy about things getting a broader appeal. The first is pure, simple, basic tribalism. A kind of tree house fort, "no girls allowed" club mentality that sees any change or growth as an infringement and intrusion on how to appreciate or engage in a fandom or franchise "the right way." With "the right way" often being a strictly hierarchical and rigidly enforced status quo in regards to membership, lore, and internal continuity. This is where a lot of the gatekeeping and teeth gnashing about "filthy casuals" comes into play. If you didn't come into or adhere to a fandom the way they did, then you're not a "true fan." It grants them a measure of power and authority they don't otherwise have in real life. And nobody with power ever likes to have it challenged or questioned. Which leads to the second factor. A lot of these chuds were never actual "fans" of the media or franchise in question in the first place. Or rather, they demonstrated a severe lack of media literacy that lets them actually process what they are seeing. Oh, they liked certain elements of a show or film or series. But often on only the most surface level. The lights and sound and power fantasy aspects. But they never dug past that or picked up on a lot of the underlying themes, ideas, or concepts said show or film or series was communicating. Star Trek is about flying round in space and running into weird $#!+. Star Wars is about cool space battle and laser swords. Superheroes are about having awesome powers and beating up bad guys. Etc... Anything that distracts from or interferes with that is needless fluff and not important. Nevermind that Robocop is taking some pretty pointed jobs at corporate corruption, the dangers of privatization, explores themes of dehumanization and an gross consumer capitalism. It has guns and explosions and a dude in an armored suit kicking all kinds of ass. So what you end up with is a toxic soup of entitled, narrow minded, reactionaries who see their personal domains being "invaded" and "ruined" by what they see as outsiders and "subversive" elements. Howling to the moon at anyone else but them getting a turn in the spotlight or chance at the mic and taking drastic measures to keep their respective communities "pure." And people still wonder how something as stupid and silly as Gamergate ended being an incubator for the Alt-Right.
@@diemes5463 let me rephrase. They went from being more or less politically neutral to shifting very right-ward. I think during the dark times, news commentary channels were desperate for content and forgot that they were talking about and to other people, and became hyper-focused on small issues.
Leaving all other things aside, my dude, you said "like" at least a hundred billion times within the span of 15 seconds. Re: The Grift: I think a lot of people will find they used to "like" a lot of people who were doing this because when a lot of them got their start or big break, they were picking on stuff that really was very much agenda-driven by politics pushed by greedy assholes who didn't hold those politics or really give an iota of a fuck about any of the issues involved and just thought they could make money by pandering to a "new public". When they were complaining about the Ghostbusters Reboot or Captain Marvel, they could hide behind the shield of them being widely disliked movies across the political aisle. However, turns out there's only so much shit to shovel and eventually the well dries up, so there's not much they can do but start trying to gnaw at stuff trying to push their own agenda while claiming they're just trying to stop others from doing the same. It also handily exposes their own politics and hypocrisy when they claim they don't want others to impose an idea or thought upon them, but want to do the same to others.
Marvel stopped doing shaky cam, but that's because they moved on to snap cutting a million times in a fight. No offense to Scarlett Johansson, I'm sure she wpuld have learned the stunts if they didn't rush production, but Black Widow fights usually had like 40 cuts in a 15 second window
But when can we blame money (or lack of) being a reason that Hollywood is suffering? If it’s a tossup between going to the movies and spending $35-$40 just for me to watch a movie when I’m paying for streaming services $50-$60 a month because I have more than one I would rather stay home not worry about wasting gas or buying food Especially when these movies are gonna come to streaming in a couple of months anyway Ugh
Exactly, I was mildly interested in Wonka, but movie tickets are $16 matinee and it's coming to max next month. Movies are no longer a casual outing, more of an affordable luxury.
There are some shows or movies that I will only watch through the filter of long form reviews. I watched one episode of a shitty adaptation that I won't even name because it's dead to me. I never gave it my eyes legitimately again. But I did watch the plenty of long form reviews as a form of autopsy and funeral rites. That didn't aid their numbers.

I’ve heard that argument before. And how research found that spoilers are in reality a psychological trick and that in fact don’t hamper the enjoyment of a work after.
thats not how it works tho, you dont get the same value from a rewatch cuz you already know everything that will happen, you dont get that feeling of sadness or shock from a character death or a twist, a spoiler removes that emotion from the very first expirience, so after getting spoiled its basically like rewatching a movie, wich doesnt feel as good as watching it for the first time.

With international multimedia corporations, profit is ALWAYS the bottom line. They wouldn’t be successful if they didn’t value profits above all else.

Yep Futurama Said it Best
The Bible explicitly warns that there will be fake Christians. Heck the Bible warns that there will be fake Christians who didn't know that they were fake Christians. This occurs when someone knows and understands the word of God but wants to indulge in a particular sin so badly that they delude themselves into believing God supports it. Deep down they know the truth but they lie to themselves so much eventually they believe it.

The other reactor is like "uhhh...no."
Tyrone then moves on with the rest of the review. The thing is....the dude watched the movie and the first thing he though of was "omg, they're making Jared Leto's Joker gay!"
That's crazy for 2016
It Joker in The Suicide Squad wasn’t Gay though
Pretending in Arkham city the video game, Joker did tell Batman to bring his sweet ass to him so that was always his homo eroticism between the joker and Batman but if you read a book titled the seduction of the innocent, German psychiatrist actually said that the Batman character was a gateway to child delinquency and homosexuality so it was always there
Plus, the joker wearing make up and always dressing purple kind of implied that he was at least if anything bisexual
@chandllerburse737 Thats the worst take I've heard. So, he's hard to understand, therefore, gay? Lmao

As an ex conservative, let me provide some definitions of these conservative words for non-conservative people:
"Woke/Wokeism"-adj. To have embraced secular egalitarianism and/or non-christian values.
"The Message"- noun. The promulgation of secular egalitarianism and/or non-christian values.
Alternatively, by "wokeism", conservatives could also mean "the systemic ostracization of european/eurodescendant Christian men."
Basically theyre a bunch of "white" Christian Nationalists who are salty because they're losing the culture war.

(This is why people are calling these content creators far right shills.)
The decline in entertainment value can be explained far more easily by Nepotism than by DEI. That is to say, that the entertainment value of films and games ect, isn't declining because of the ethnicity of the people making them. It's declining because the people making them only got there due to family or social connections, not through merit. Even DEI pulls from qualified applicants, they don't just pull a random minority off the streets and give them the job LMAO

Hate watching was definitely a lot of the reason for its commercial success, but only a small fraction of that came from conservatives
I think the backlash to something like Steven Universe, Legend of Korra, Captain Marvel, or She-Hulk would've been a better example (not that there aren't people who dislike these for valid or invalid apolitical reasons, but a lot of the hatred of these are because of anger at their inclusion of LGBTQ people or women). I get that a couple of those examples are a bit old, but you'll find plenty of people that will still rant about how terrible they are because they are "woke."

'The Message' is just another way of saying 'The Narrative'

Howling to the moon at anyone else but them getting a turn in the spotlight or chance at the mic and taking drastic measures to keep their respective communities "pure."
And people still wonder how something as stupid and silly as Gamergate ended being an incubator for the Alt-Right.

Re: The Grift:
I think a lot of people will find they used to "like" a lot of people who were doing this because when a lot of them got their start or big break, they were picking on stuff that really was very much agenda-driven by politics pushed by greedy assholes who didn't hold those politics or really give an iota of a fuck about any of the issues involved and just thought they could make money by pandering to a "new public".

Heels Vs Babyface is a reference to wrestling. Heels are badguys and babyfaces are the faces of the company
But when can we blame money (or lack of) being a reason that Hollywood is suffering?
If it’s a tossup between going to the movies and spending $35-$40 just for me to watch a movie when I’m paying for streaming services $50-$60 a month because I have more than one I would rather stay home not worry about wasting gas or buying food Especially when these movies are gonna come to streaming in a couple of months anyway
Ugh
Exactly, I was mildly interested in Wonka, but movie tickets are $16 matinee and it's coming to max next month. Movies are no longer a casual outing, more of an affordable luxury.
There are some shows or movies that I will only watch through the filter of long form reviews.
I watched one episode of a shitty adaptation that I won't even name because it's dead to me. I never gave it my eyes legitimately again.
But I did watch the plenty of long form reviews as a form of autopsy and funeral rites. That didn't aid their numbers.
Didn't Nerdrotic sell drugs to kids?
Dammit I could have gotten drugs
Then again Nerdrotic almost rhymes with narcotic
He did his time. There’s a lot to dislike him for, but if you do your time, you don’t deserve to have your worst mistakes continually brought up.
@@katrose5179 conservatives claim liberals are handing out drugs to kids xD they don't let up. Give them their own tactics.
@@katrose5179the thing is our prison system doesn’t rehabilitate inmates, serving your sentence doesn’t change anything about you or what you did.
Pillar of garbage
Pillar of garbage is great!
Wonder if Xanderhal knows about Doomcock. It would be interesting to see him talk about this one particular grifter.
Critical Drinker, doesn't even drink, very obvious grift
28:25 wait, Star Wars Theory is a CHUD, damn it
“Heel” and “Babyface” are pro wrestling terms. A heel is a bad guy and a babyface is a good guy. So his name is essentially bad guy vs good guy.
I don't understand how these guys can get so worked up over The Message.
That was one of the best songs in Vice City.

(11:17) Got to keep up with the newest trends in conservatism, you know.
There is nothing that points out how endemic of how our probate than the hate watch.
A spoiler can't ruin a good movie. Else people couldn't re-watch movies.
@rockargen9591 Yeah, but you get to understand the lead up more. Notice all the little details you ignored the first time around unless you watch movies by checking each frame individually.
Not for me, some movies and shows stir emotions on command
I've been spoiled on things before. To me it doesn't hamper my enjoyment. Because to me I'm always curious of the journey to the spoiled part.
How I know you are not lying too?🤔
Joss Whedon, all-around asshole but not a shaky-cam fan, being the director of Avengers had a whole lot more to do with the direction the MCU took than Disney getting involved.
Heel Vs Babyface is actually wrestling terms. A heel is a "bad guy" and baby face are "heroic" wrestlers, actually. It's not really a baby stomping reference.
Now I'm not going to lie I'm a Warhammer fan but I'm not a conservative, but I really hope they don't change Warhammer its perfect the way it is. But we do have people in the community who see trump as the God emperor.
It's really weird, I've been into 40k since high school and had no problem seeing that no one was a good guy and enjoyed it for what it was. Everyone I've interacted with was nice as well.
@@diemes5463 yea im not saying our community is bad but there are some members that see trump as a god emperor or even a primarch
@@rakheem351 I'd say more chaos god lol, but I get what you mean, there's always the weirdo section that takes it too far. It's sad we can't enjoy a silly pastime without political vitriol.
@@diemes5463 yea you right but cant give themm that much power so id say they are like a demon lord or korn
So what's your opinion on female custodes?
Xans adorable little spiral curl tho
that's a terribly poured pint
Heel vs baby face is referencing wrestling. A heel is the bad guy the baby face is the good guy
The fact millennials still call the prequels bad is so funny to me. As a genz who loves all things Star Wars it’s ok to like the prequels again lol 😂
As a GenX: NEVER.
Born in 92. Personally I think The Phantom Menace isn't very good, Attack of the Clones is good but not great, and Revenge of the Sith is fantastic.
subscribed to Pillar, the clips sold me on his content
Not sheep but Lemmings
OK but if desaturation looks worse why are some modern films obsessed with realism = grey no color
The daredevil clip needs to be uploaded standalone!
Here’s the thing I like some of pillar of garbage videos but sometimes the he is the lefts version of grifter and goes way too hard to debunk everything the right has to say even when there’s actual points being made.
Needs the Pillar of Garbage link!
I'm pretty sure HvBF's name is a reference to pro-wrestling, not curbstomping.
52:19 TH-cam game me several warnings, two 24 hour bans, and a deletion threat for making jokes where I used the linneun Family name of crows and ravens, but if I were to make a video saying the other word and making things up on the fly the algorithm would promote it.
The Message sounds cool though... then again, I guess they called us warriors before.
Benny Johnson is one of the most soy-coded people on the right. 100% guaranteed that when he's at a restaurant and the food arrives he squeals "oh goody!" and furiously claps his hands together. No hate to him for being like that, but he should acknowledge it instead of pretending to be a gymbro cowboy barkeep or whatever he's trying to do here.
Oh, Shady-versity.
What about youtubers like Synthetic Man, ENDYMIONtv, Cyael, Hypnotic, RevenantRemnant, and FritangaPlays? Are they grifters too?
All of them are.
Absolutely! Endymion and Synthetic Man are probably the worst ones although FritangaPlays is definitely up there.
So what you're saying is these guys are the epitome of the meme. There REAL to me!
"The woke" and the " Anti woke" are equally annoying with their political views.
Here's the secret. Neither exists in real life. Only on social media.
Said a bad faith, dishonest 'both sidism' centrist, that's politically and economically illiterate, while also giving the EXACT SAME RHETORIC as the "anti woke".
You are the "anti-woke".
I love your split personality.
It makes sense for me to be on this channel, because I'm consistent in my positions. You, however, apparently want to put a mask on in here, while being exactly what this video is about in other channels.
Nobody believe me?
Look up ComicBookCast2, Armin's, comment section, and find this guy's comments.
He sounds no different than Geeks and Gamers, Quartering, RKoutpost, YoungRippa54, and other chuds.
Here, he pretends to magically be outside, or above, "both sides"....while he licks the taint of right wing social conservatives.
Just a weird bias against "female characters".
Please, by all means, expound on what the "political views" are of the "woke" and "anti-woke"?
I'm genuinely curious which part is "annoying".
@@DayneAW one side calls everyone racist and sexist that disagree and the other side calls everyone woke, and shill, that disagree with them. both are biased hypocrites.
You made some redditor have a mental breakdown. Congratulations.
You didn't link the video!
Full disclosure: I do occasionally listen to folks like Critical Drinker now and then - and I believe that he has always been open about his political views. Naturally I don’t necessarily agree with them, but his takes on the state of story writing in modern Hollywood are still largely on point.
And for the record, I also listen to folks like Saberspark and Cpuffperson too - I want to know what *all* sides of the political spectrum are saying about a piece of media.
Xan I need to know, do you watch The Bad Batch? 👀
57:43 Heel vs Babyface are wrestling terms, please don't assume too hard, Xan
FIRE🖤
You made a few valid points but the others just feel like my politics vs theirs, you seem very left leaning, which isn't inherently bad but it definitely feels like left good, conservative bad during the first 15 minutes
Thats what I thought too. Xanderthal uses 'They think like this', 'They react this way', 'They..' etc.
Rather than expressing concern over failing media and poor choice tokenism in stories, which is what ultimately makes people think things are 'woke' to begin with.
Asking WHY people think this way. Rather than 'Lmao chuds'
It’s the woke industrial complex
the saltierthankrayt subreddit heeds the call (As I'm part of it.)
But these guys are influencing young dudes.
Can have yous seen the remix British prime minister’s speech in the USA yesterday she says the left is in control when she was part of the conservatives party who have been in control of the UK for 14 years
This video is hilarious.
6:01 were you ever sober?
I know all of these guys are Conservative but Mauler actually isn't.
He's not but he's still a grifter.
What are they grifting? Time? Aren't you doing the same thing with this video? I know one in media cares about me, but at least they shouldn't go out of their way to express contempt. I'm no fan of these people, but they can be funny, and provide a cathartic outlet to wating time and money on unsatisfying entertainment.
They're grifting your rage. They fuel it. They always want you to be that way about everything.
