I love this book. Lady Susan is one of the great characters in English Literature in my opinion. A perfect example of a manipulative narcissist portrayed with tremendous skill and wit. I recommend it to anyone who hasn't read it.
Appreciate this walk through Lady Susan, as I'm not familiar with it. Your accent and voice are as charming as ever. 💜And I adore your tea mug! Love it.
I saw the movie in the theatre a few years back, it was amusing and fun. And what I remember was listening to other people complaining about it. Comments like that wasn’t a Jane Austen story, dissatisfied with the produciton😊
I really enjoyed your video. I *LOVE* Lady Susan. She is so unrepentantly bad. You're right; even if it was an exercise written at nineteen, it shows how much of a genius Austen when she was young. Thanks for sharing your thoughts.
@@ArnellaHobler Oh! I am reading it as a choice book for English literature class, and it takes place in the 1920s, it is really entertaining and I like it so far! It has some love drama happening there haha. I read Emma and watched your video about the book, really good video that helped me understand the book a bit better since english is not my native language :)
Thank you! And it does seem like I got a little confused there at the end. Sir James is Frederica's stepfather while Reginald de Courcy is Lady Susan's son-in-law. Apologies!

I really do like your way of speaking, your mannerism and, of course, your topic. I'm a huge Jane Austen fan. Thank you!
Thank you, so glad you liked it! 😊
I just finished this book today, so good its amazing for her early work
It really is, I'm amazed at how skilled she was at writing at that age!

Oh thank you! I'm glad you liked it! 🥰
Loved it all very much.
Susan doesn't need a motive - she's just a sociopath.

So happy to hear that! And yes, "unrepentantly bad" is definitely a fitting description!
❤ You have my china!
Hii! Have you ever read anne of green gables? If you haven’t, I’d love to hear your intake on it (˘・◞◞◞・˘) ♡
Hello 😊 I haven't actually, but I'm curious about it. I might read it sometime this spring or summer!
@@ArnellaHobler That’d be awesome ! Thank you
Have you read or made a video about 'A Handful of Dust' ?
I haven't, I must admit I hadn't heard of this one before!

Oh okay, thanks for the tip! And happy to hear you found the video helpful :)
The summary was lovely. However at the end shouldn't it be stepfather instead of father in law.
Yes as Fredrick was supposed to be her stepfather if he married Lady Susan.
Thank you! And it does seem like I got a little confused there at the end. Sir James is Frederica's stepfather while Reginald de Courcy is Lady Susan's son-in-law. Apologies!
@@ArnellaHobler It's okay. Overall I loved this summary. I find Lady Susan’s activities very amusing.
According to other contemporary books I have seen, what we call a “stepfather” is referred to as a “father-in-law”.
Who came here from watching the film, "Love & Friendship" (2016)? 🖐️🖐️🖐️
