    I feel like Shelby is the only influencer that isn’t narcissistic in the slightest. Other TH-camrs talk about themselves so much. I dont know how to explain it. But I feel like Shelby is just amazing!

    I have burnout just watching your schedule - so much travel, exercise and busy days with little chill in between! You should totally try and rest more, especially after travelling so much! You will find that productivity goes up when you get appropriate rest and relaxation :)

    I’ll have to watch the full vid in a little bit once I’m done with school pick up, BUT… based off the thumbnail, I have to say, I believe a lot of millennials are dealing with burn out right now (myself included, so I feel you!). Like everything else we have had to deal with, this season will soon eventually pass and we will make it out on top. ❤ Huge hugs, Shelby!

    • @i.am.heather
      @i.am.heather ปีที่แล้ว +2

      Oh my word! It took me forever to get back on here to watch and I was mentioned 😅 Thank you for answering my question about the staycation! I know you and Monica enjoyed that time together. ❤❤
      More huge hugs headed your way bc I see your burnout is multifaceted. From an outsiders perspective: you have soooo much going on (YT, moving, traveling, being in transition, etc). subconsciously I don’t think your brain is able to fully recharge every night so it’s effecting your sleep which is overflowing into everything else you’re doing & trying to accomplish. Systemically it’s wearing you down. Idk if you journal, but that may help?
      Lastly, I can’t figure out why your main channel videos don’t and aren’t performing better? They’re so well thought out and put together. Just know you have a view & like from me (I typically will comment too!), but I’m around regardless!

    Burnout is a real thing that just comes and go unfortunately. Even as a college student I would feel burnt out at the end of midterm and finals weeks each semester. Now I just went through my first summer of post grad and I miss school more than most people probably do. Accepted my first full time job and starting next week. I’m lucky it’s remote but I’m worried about feeling burnt out easily since I’m not used to working full time.

    On the move, go live in your Palm Springs rental house for a while. Chill and take your time on the decision. Still off peak so won’t be giving up too much. Even with moving stuff twice probably worth it to get this decision right.

    Regarding working from home and tricking your brain - I work 95% from home and I make it a rule to always put my laptop away in my desk drawer (laptop, charger - everything) whenever I’m done with work. It kind of helps me separate my work space from my living space.

    I love watching your vlogs Shelby! When you talked about struggling with indecisiveness and trying to figure out what to do, I felt that so hard. I always feel like there's something else I could be doing and it can be hard to stay on task/stick to it. Also what you said about burnout really resonated with me as well. The constant grind I feel is hard and sometimes feels unsustainable even though I know I need to work hard to progress in my career which is frustrating and makes you question why you even do it in the first place. I think taking breaks and having some time to yourself helps keep the balance though so give yourself some grace and do things you love, it helps a lot 😊

    Hey Shelby - just wanted to make a quick note re: lower rpm + less businesses spending (real) money on brand deals… I just have noticed for my agency that companies have pulled back spends unless whatever results we get them is 100% making them (provable) bank.. and even then some companies have pulled back… it’s been a weird year for my agency/companies too 😬 just gonna keep moving forward and hopefully thinks will equalize more sooner than later - thx for the video :)

    Life in general gets burnout. It’s not a youtube issue LOL. Balance is very hard and as someone that has been in creative endeavors for quite awhile you have to have balance and mix it up. One thing I will say and plz know this is not criticism. It’s more of someone that lives a similar life. Why with all your travel do you even have alot of stuff that you have to store ect. As someone that travels a good deal not happy much was so freeing. That’s it and thanks for all you do. You are awesome.

It’s normal to not feel 100% all of the time, that’s how life is, not always perfect! Enjoy your youth & your life. You will have the rest of your life (especially in your later years) to stress & or experience true burnout after having a career for 30-40ish years lol. Instead of being given work from a boss, you have to go out and not only think of ideas but also put them in your chosen format (TH-cam). Working as a reseller is a constant hustle so I am constantly thrifting, listing and making sure my items sell. I have to just keep going all the time. Shelby - I'm not a doctor; but the indecisiveness and beginning one task and jumping to another was one of many markers I had when I was diagnosed with ADHD. I do have complex mental health diagnoses; and ADHD was one of the harder ones to diagnose for myself. And it's often the first thing professional assume- and I'm like no no no but I experience this, and that, and etc. That just beginning a conversation with your professional medical team may really help you with staying focused and on tasked. I've attempted many different techniques and skills over the years. But have ADHD medications- helped significantly and I saw that; and combination of accommedations in my environment was huge in being able to balance life better. Hope that whether it is or isn't ADHD you're able to get support, skills, therapy/meds/assessment you need! It can also be a sign of being stressed and overwhelmed and burned out. For me when I had a very bad burn out- is when I got diagnosed with Autism. Not saying you have ADHD or autism; but there may be something regarding neurodiversity that is definitely worth exploring!

    The burnout talk is so me right now. I've been traveling so much and have a week of travel coming out again. I can't get into a flow, and it's messing me up. Also, brand deals are slower, so it feels less like an incentive. Interestingly, I am feeling like hiring people is something that will help me. There are some factors that I've learned about what creates burnout: 1. The work/investment and the result being misaligned 2. Having desires or goals that are not proving to be obtainable.
    Number 2 is the one that has proven to be the biggest for me. I have ambition and goals that I want to achieve, but not being able to get there makes me feel burnt out and unmotivated. Hiring people helps me with the progress and ability to obtain or reach those goals, which strangely helps me feel excited and not burnt out. It seems counter-intuitive to say working harder and DOING MORE can help you fight against burn out, but it's so true. I lost an editor and it really screwed me up big time as things slowed down tremendously and I couldn't get things done at the rate or velocity that I wanted...so I end up doing very little. Crazy.

    • @shelbychurchvlogs
      @shelbychurchvlogs  ปีที่แล้ว +1

      that makes so much sense. I feel the same that I'm not quite hitting my goals, videos aren't turning out as good as I would like and I've also noticed less brand offers (it seems like for everyone!) hope you find another editor that you like!! I think we need to just give ourselves a little bit of a break with the travel because it's not the same as being productive at home!

    Orange County is so much nicer than many parts of LA and it's only 30-40 miles away from LA so you have the best of [both] worlds.

    Won’t the shelties suffer in the heat of Palm Springs when Monica moves down there? I agree that Sam looks like a young Brad Pitt.

    I know you probably have more insight into this than an average subscriber, but would it benefit your channel to concentrate your videos on your main channel and make them more "lifestyle"? Meaning you can have vlog style videos but also a "feature" video here and there whenever you find a good topic.
    I do agree that from the outside looking in, you seem to have been more productive in your own place with good lighting, and everything else you explained, etc. I'm sure the stress of not knowing where you want to put down some roots isn't helping either. Here's to success on your quest for finding the right place, cheers!

      @@shelbychurchvlogs Sending hugs from NYC! I’ve moved from NYC to California (and back) twice. Also in NYC (where I am now) I moved from one high rise to another on the same street. All the moves were brutal! 🤣 And everything in all of my moves went well. You will find a place that is just right for you and get through it! 🌸 💖
