These bikes are highly sought after now! I had one a 2001 model, probably the best bike I ever owned! I put Vance and Hines long shots on it and the sound it made was just great, better than most Harleys that I have heard! Wish now I had kept it,only had 30,000 miles! Sold it and bought a 2006 Vulcan classic 1500 with 11,000 miles for just a couple of hundred more than I sold the drifter for! I sold the Drifter to a girl that wanted one really bad ,she had been looking for one for over a year! Mine was in excellent shape so she got a really good deal! Wish I had it back though!😎🇺🇸🏴☠️🇺🇸🏴☠️🇺🇸🏴☠️🇺🇸🏴☠️🇺🇸
owned one together with my dad, was lucky and find some longshots on ebay, they are rlly hard to find here in europe. did the bike have anything u need to look for maintenance exept oilchange and stuff? love that looped idle and screaming v8 like sound this bike can put out greeting from germany brother =)
@@BardoggROM Only thing I can think of is the drive shaft! Sometimes the drive shaft will get corroded and become stuck and won’t slide in and out! When it does that the rear end will start riding rough and bouncy! You have to take the drive shaft off and grease the splines! When you change the rear tire be sure to put some grease on the the gears or cogs that fit together that turn the rear tire! That’s all I can think of besides oiling certain places and checking nuts and bolts and make sure they are all torqued down good! Have fun, ride safe!😎👍
@@shaddillon7583 I got my Vance and Hines long shots from a company that’s not in business anymore back in 2003! Back then you could get all kinds of exhaust for a Drifter but now I can’t find any exhaust that will fit my 2003 drifter! The best ones I ever had for my drifter was a set of street sweepers and they were pretty cheap back then,200-300 bucks ! I bought a 2006 Kawasaki Vulcan 1500 classic and the only pipes I could find for it that were reasonably priced was cobra dragsters and they were like 350 bucks 5 years ago! I can’t find any heat shields for my drifter anymore, luckily mine are still in really good shape! I was looking for a set of heat shields for my 2003 1200 Sportster a while back and I can’t find them anymore, not the good long ones that are on it now! If a person just had to have a set for a drifter I guess he would have to go to a muffler shop and get some made for it if had a old set to go by! I have been thinking about getting a set of street sweepers made for my drifter if I ever decide to change the ones I use now! 5 years ago you could still get about any kind of exhaust you wanted but not anymore! I really miss the late 90s and early 2000s! If a person looking he might accidentally find a set somewhere but I doubt it!

It is a Drifter not an Indian. I had a 99 wonderful bike. I was proud to drive my Drifter. 26,000 and never a problem.
Drifter forever , i drive my Drifter 1500 over 23 Jears . No Problems and in Germany it's an Unikat 😊
