i know this is an overused compliment but this genuinely has such amazing potential to be a full-blown series. this might be my favorite calarts film this year.
The way she blocks the view of the timer at 2:41 is so beautiful man. As if telling her not to focus on the new worlds but the everlasting constant- being with eachother
the same with the ending too! how she blocks the timer, repeating the “no matter what” point and showing the importance of them meeting over the looming timer!

I’ve been seeing a lot of animations from CalArts lately and someone correct me if I’m wrong but I think it’s because it’s midterms or finals season either way they’re all really good
this is genuinely so beautiful and perfect, not just the way they interact but how they sound and how you hear them express themselves. Its such a natural and real exchange accompanied by the music and ticking sound effects as well as those of life, it is so enchanting and brings everything together and makes it feel so elavated. "I miss you already" just really played on my feels.
I love how urgent yet calm it feels. I really felt each second go by as the countdown reached zero. The emotions and the character dynamics felt so real, and it was guided by an amazing soundtrack. I love how it also feels like rpg with different scenerios with the level up effects at 0:40 and the different scenerios gone through at the end. The end sequence was especially amazing, it really got me to think about all the different timelines they went through together. Amazing work!!
OOH ok ok ok ok ok ok yeah. I'm crying literally every shot was beautiful, i loved how well you used colors and the staging to invoke their feelings. The expressions and music were wonderful too, everything was wonderful!! i love this, thank you for sharing and creating such a wonderful film about love.
i definitely hear the same think it's nearly identical. I think it uses the same notes and scale. Memory/Bounding Through Time and this also seem to use a combination of piano, synth, and clock ticking.
@@NeatCrownBounding Through Time was indeed the main reference for the ending cue! I’ve always loved that piece of music, and felt this was a perfect film to utilize it as reference! (Though, maybe a bit too heavy handedly 😅) It’s the mostly the same pentatonic riff structure, but centered around the 7th as opposed to the 9th and some weirder timings on auxiliary synth parts.

@@Toastrz97 As much as it is heavy-handed, those heavy hands are equally as delicate. Although it is extremely similar, I love it regardless because its inspiration is from a game that is very near and dear to me. It brought back those feelings of bittersweet melancholy that I had felt before. Whenever I hear it, it makes me tear up, and it fits perfectly.

i love that the visuals make it so easy to understand that this is a “soulmates in every universe” trope. NOT a bad thing at all, in fact quite the opposite! animation/ film / storytelling in general is best when it’s show versus tell. and this showed a lot through the art. i love it

4 minutes. that’s all it took for me to sob. what a beautiful film😭 the storytelling here was simply amazing, and to literally build the world, tell the story, and hit me in the feels real bad in that amount of time… and the ANIMATION?? this should be winning awards. simply amazing. usually don’t take the time to leave a like on videos, but i had to here. this is beautiful.
I could imagine a full series of these timelines where they get closer and closer to figuring out how to stop their jump, or at very least retain their memories

this is so beautiful beyond words!!! the colors are so calming in the beginning and I love the floating sequence. all the outfits at the end tell their own story and the transition between the paint and the blood is genius. the voices fit the characters very well, they're both so charming. Avery's head blocking the timer at 2:42 is such a great detail. Avery and June's dynamic and persevering romance is so lovely to watch and I want to see more of them so badly!!
The last part where it quickly goes through other universe is so good! Also I love the characer designs and everything else, it was all so well done I am speachless!

This was incredible, genuinely made me so emotional. The art is fantastic and the one clip where it rapidly changes between setting as they run into each other so beautiful this whole thing is gorgeous.

I have never been so utterly in love with a concept as this. Your storytelling is SO refreshing and "in every universe" is always such a beautiful idea, except you've got beautiful colours and gorgeous, individually expressive character designs. You should be so proud of this!! ALSO the interactions and dialogue feel so human and heartwarming too!!!! I feel so inspired as a creator after watching this

Kinda gave me Good Omens vibes and mean that in the best possible way, just that feeling of being connected at the soul across timelines, eras, from the heavens to the earth and below. The animation may not be the greatest if I'm being completely honest, but the story is very compelling even though is just a short story. I'd love to see an expanded version of this, it has so much potential.

Very much intentional!! When this film was pitched to me my mind immediately went to that suite of tracks from SPM for the same reason! When the main guidance for the ending cue I got was “I want a ticking clock and piano, idk what else” I figured this would be a perfect opportunity to pay homage (maybe a little too hard 😅) to one of my favorite games :)

I feel like my connection and love for Super Paper Mario and how that story made me feel, and suddenly having that all of that brought back to the forefront of my mind immediately let this film feel way more meaningful in an extremely deep and specific way that I don't think I've ever picked up on before. It really helps with the theme of the film too!! The end of the world and a love that can't persist.... its just so beautiful. Thank you for composing it!!
