As an FSU alum its great to see fellow alum doing such incredible and important work. I and all my coworkers follow you and noaa alone and appreciate everything you do. Just tied down the boat boat and got all our supplies set hoping it misses us. Thank you Dr. Cowan.
Thank you so much, Dr. Cowan. I also wait for your tropical tidbit video to come out to really analyze the situation… I’m about 15 minutes from the golf as the crow flies. Thank you will be watching.
Thank you! You are the best! Exceptional information in a concise format without extra hype. As a Floridian, I appreciate you and your information immensely.
Good Video today, appreciate the honest model interpretations at the beginning. It will be interesting to see how the overnight models perform and update with the mid-level pulling further south than modeled.
We are inland central Florida, and just got a TS watch. At this point, I think we all should brace for rain/flooding impacts, and keep an eye out for any potential wind.
Off topic but what is your view on what's going on in CHINA and area, is this a record Typhoon season, also why are these storms staying strong across land for miles. thanks
will the lower circulation from S of cuba where the clouds are swirling? and could that cause it to be so far West that it hits pensacola instead of the big bend of florida?
There was a moment that made me giggle, where you talked about how the conditions are generally favorable except for, well, this big island of Cuba right in the middle. Great work as always, making weather eminently understandable!
The farther south that the center of circulation forms, the more time it has over warm waters (except for any time over Cuba) so ...yes, there would likely be more strengthening if it's not pulled east over the peninsula.
Thank you. I had your site pulled up on my work computer today. And my boss walked in and he said "You're not afraid of a little weather are you?" My response "No i just like to be informed and prepared." "Being you lead a scout troop, I would think you would understand that." Again, thank you, Levi.
Depends very much on where you are and your surroundings. Some places in Florida get significant surge even from tropical storms, and sub-hurricane force winds can still cause issues
I was homeless, did drugs, went into prison, where I got to know God. He changed my life. Now I have a home, a wife and a lovely year old daughter (zoe), and a stream of income that gats me $47,000 weekly. Plus a new identity - a child of God, Hallelujah!!!🇺🇲❣️♥️❤️
YES!!! That's exactly her name (Kate Elizabeth Becherer) so many people have recommended highly about her and am just starting with her 😊 from Brisbane Australia🇦🇺
Luckly it doesn’t have enough time to ramp up to the full blown hurricane before it hits Florida. I’ll be in shock if it becomes anything more than a tropical storm by the time it reaches the peninsula.
Does not have to be a hurricane to cause severe damage especially due to flooding, this is what Mark Suddath was warning about with people forcusing to much on the label of the storm and not the impacts.
Seems like there may be some potential "steering" going on here with the incosistancy between all three global models. Perhaps because they are not taking "external" sources into consideration. Looking for "unexpected" intesification in the short term approaching the southeastern gulf. Ok, taking off my tinfoil hat now. Lol.
It won't land as a hurricane! Yes, prepare and you'll always be prepared but it's just a little wind and rain. It's not a hurricane. We've gone through category 2, 3 and even 4!
4:32 "You think this is all a big joke? Well listen here 'Joy Boy'. You and your 'goodtime buddies' might think that's funny, but what about those poor kids, who open up a copy of 'Cat In The Hat' only to find pictures of pee pees and wee wees." Mr. Bookman - Library Cop. lol
Unless you live on the coast for surge idk how people take this serious lol. It’s rain and Florida, Floridians are laughing cause when idiots in Tallahassee are freaking out gas lines were long yesterday
@thievingpanda Us Floridians aren't pissed. How about scared and anxious. We are putting shutters on our windows all day, securing all outdoor furniture, charging batteries, making ice, buying water and cooking all of our meat in the freezer before it goes bad when we have no power for 3 weeks. I bet you never been through a hurricane. I'm one of the latest survivors of Ian. And Charley Irma, Ivan Jean just to name a few. Be nice, and don't joke around when it comes to hurricanes.
As an FSU alum its great to see fellow alum doing such incredible and important work. I and all my coworkers follow you and noaa alone and appreciate everything you do. Just tied down the boat boat and got all our supplies set hoping it misses us. Thank you Dr. Cowan.

I'm in Tampa, Florida. Watching and prepping for this storm.
good for you
I used to live in NPR. We didn't think one was much of anything. Big mistake! It cut right into our area. Now I'm in the Bigbend. Uhve
Good to prepare. Much better than just sitting on our hands and waiting for a big storms probability. Be smart!
Sarasota here, love your videos, always helpful! They are much appreciated. Thanks
I love weather information without all the hype and drama. Thank you for your forecasts.
Thank you for all your videos, explanations on different scenario’s, and putting things in layman’s terms, much appreciated Levi!

Watching in Cedar Key, again
Uggghh. Going to be alot of last minute prep going on related to Surf and Surge predictions.
Looks well organised atleast in visible satellite for a system over land
Thank you Dr. Cowan! This is slow moving which is concerning and all that water!
Thanks for the great analysis of Potential Tropical Cyclone Four.
Great presentation. Thanks...
We are inland central Florida, and just got a TS watch. At this point, I think we all should brace for rain/flooding impacts, and keep an eye out for any potential wind.
Thank you!
Great analysis as always!

Bonifay here! Be safe!
Such a concise and well prezented report consideri g the complexith of a ztalling effe t. Thank you!
Growing quite a bit, bigger than the state of Florida, lot of convection firing up
That storm already has a good look to it. I wouldn’t be surprised if we get a hurricane of category 2 as it looks at the moment
thank you for dinner Levi
Off topic but what is your view on what's going on in CHINA and area, is this a record Typhoon season, also why are these storms staying strong across land for miles. thanks
Broward County here. Fort Lauderdale, in fact. Ready for lots of rain. Wondering if my work will be cancelled tomorrow...
Dr. Cowan is Fort Lauderdale, Hollywood, Pembroke Pines, Cooper City!!!???? Good????
will the lower circulation from S of cuba where the clouds are swirling? and could that cause it to be so far West that it hits pensacola instead of the big bend of florida?
Thanks
These storms can never have a perfect environment. Is a good thing.
There was a moment that made me giggle, where you talked about how the conditions are generally favorable except for, well, this big island of Cuba right in the middle.
Great work as always, making weather eminently understandable!
When is today's Aug 3 advisory going to be posted?
The further south it stays could be bad, right?
The farther south that the center of circulation forms, the more time it has over warm waters (except for any time over Cuba) so ...yes, there would likely be more strengthening if it's not pulled east over the peninsula.
I gotta work in this storm 😂
Thank you. I had your site pulled up on my work computer today. And my boss walked in and he said "You're not afraid of a little weather are you?" My response "No i just like to be informed and prepared." "Being you lead a scout troop, I would think you would understand that." Again, thank you, Levi.
It looks like its moving more west than towards the n West.
Anyone see anything at the end of that satellite loop in the clouds? Or Am i just high?!
Winds and storm surge won’t be a factor. Weak or Strong either way it will rain buckets
Depends very much on where you are and your surroundings. Some places in Florida get significant surge even from tropical storms, and sub-hurricane force winds can still cause issues
@@Tropical-Tidbits sorry I should have clarified. I’m in coastal Georgia.
The way storms have been firing up in the gulf lately though I think we could still get more than just a tropical storm
Marco island here, todays thunderstorm alone was deadly. As was the last three. Not looking forward to anything this year.

"Weather manipulation"...
Prepare to be shocked

“Gulf”
this thing actually will become hurricane but possibly not in gulf
