@Carol LiveLight I was blessed to have been in Ma's holy presence in 1969 while touring India with my guru, Swami Satchidananda. There were thousands of devotees in attendance, as we, twenty-five Americans in white pajamas, caught Ma's eye. She proceeded to inquire who we were and where we came from. Our Swamiji identified himself and then engaged in conversation with Ma. Their exchange, though not understandable to us in language, was truly magical beyond words. In every instance, other than with Ma, our Guru always spoke with other enlightened masters as his peers. This time, however, Swamiji's body language and tone of voice were so deeply reverential, like a child speaking with the utmost love and respect to his adoring mother, that we, watching this encounter, were all moved to tears. In this moment of reflection, I now count myself among the truly blessed to have seen Anandamayi Ma in living form.
thank you for sharing your story, its fascinating to me that all these great masters knew each other. I think, if I am not mistaken, that in the begining of the video we can see Paramahansa Yogananda and I have also see a picture of Yogananda and and Ramana Maharshi.
I had this wonderful opportunity to meet and seek Anandmayi maa's blessings.... I was around 2/3 yrs old and she had come to someone's house and we all went for her Darshan. She was blessing everyone and me being tiny.... Could not be seen by her so patiently waited for her to give me blessings... Still she did not see me so I went up to her and took her hand and placed it on my head and she had such beautiful smile... I am so glad and blessed to have been blessed by this enlightened soul. 🙏🙏

Films of Joy so much! Long ago, I lived in India, and took people in the Ashram I was staying in to Janeshwar's Samadhi Shrine. On the way, we stopped at a small Ashram on the outskirts of town, which the driver had suggested. I wasn't expecting anything. I had heard of Anandamayi Ma but I was living with another Guru and hadn't read much about Ma. At her place, an older swami was showing us around, telling some stories, and some people wandered off on their own. While the swami was talking, I suddenly could no longer hear him. No sound. I suddenly felt a presence so I turned and looked to a swinging chair, and sitting there as plain as day was Anandamayi Ma, and this sunami of compassion and love swept all through me and I began to sob uncontrollably it was so incredibly beautiful, this feeling of love and tender compassion. I think the people in my group thought I was nutz but I didn't care. One of them began barking at me demanding to know when and where lunch would take place, as if the service he was getting was not up to par. I looked at him, tears streaming down my face, and then back at MA so serene and so indescribably lovely...it was a profound moment in so many ways, but the greatest part was having her divine and loving Darshan, and I could always know her from there forward. Watching this video, and the lovely chant, I'm right back in that courtyard weeping, in awe once again. She has to be among the greatests of all time. So chrystal pure. The embodiment of love and compassion. My hero!

Ananda Mayi Ma, in that one moment, so directly made something plain to see, feel, know, and be. I have lived with a few Siddhas, and been visited by a few more. Then I struggled for many years. Then all at once, the illusion disintegrated right before my subtle eye....and that's the end of it. Ananda Mayi Ma showed something that very few other have ever been able to communicate simply by their presence. She was so unique in many quiet ways. Lasting forever ways. Timeless and person-less ways. I love her so much, even when you know their is no difference anymore....still...I love her so much and then more. She is the heart of existence. It's incredible..... I don't think I have seen any lady as beautiful as her in my life. I'm confused if it's her smile or eyes or glamour or beauty or what is it exactly. Felt like got a treasure from somewhere 🙏even I kept one of her photo in my worship place for so many years without knowing anything about her. Only during my childhood I heard about her from my Mom 🙏🙏🙏and the hare Krishna song was actually giving goosebumps 👌

Some months ago my interest was piqued by a video talking about her as embodiment of the Divine Mother; later I started researching and, as soon as I looked at a photo of her, I experienced a feeling of peace and power. Wow
Watching her in these old videos seems like she is still living on this Earth, besides us. Not only her soul was boundless and enlightened, but also her smile, her eyes were beyond any human conception of beauty.

The only motive of religion is bring peace and sense of fulfillment to your soul. If you feel enlightened and happy while chanting those kirtans, if you feel relaxed and divine in that state then you my friend are experiencing the connection to God. @@carollivelight4914 I infact felt very sad when I saw people garlanding Anandamayi Mata and not garlanding Sri Sri Bholanath ji (Her husband) sitting silently beside her. People are so short sighted they could not recognise the great great sacrifice which could be only as a result of very high spiritual stature of Sri Sri Bholanath ji.
Is this great saintly man still alive, I would like to meet him to get his sacred blessings.

The question was why people show respect to her only and not to her legal husband with whose rare sacrifice she is being so much respected. Whosoever touches her feet must first touch her husband's Holly feet. In my eyes his sacrifice is more respectful.
