Mikey Crichton is the goat In the 2nd novel, Lost World the explanation as to why the raptors are so violent is because the juveniles never had any competent adult raptors to imprint off and learn predator behaviours from. So they just go around fighting each other and killing for sport, they even try to kill baby raptors that try to eat their kill which is what not raptors are supposed to behave like, they share the food with the babies first iirc. It's a nice addition because it shows you can't just bring back the animal, you need their social behaviour as well otherwise the whole thing won't work.
