I have many fond childhood memories of Jonesville. I briefly lived with my grandmother there. Thank you for sharing.

Jonesville,Virginia - what can I say about Jonesville? From 10/1952 - 12/1954 it was where I lived. I am almost 74 so I was a young kid back then. My father worked for the Virginia Department of Highways and we moved there from Pennington Gap. My family lived in the small frame house on the right just as soon as you pass the middle school. I saw that school being built. My brother and I would walk into town, go by the drug store and get a drink. We would then cross the street to the movie theatre. I believe we would pay $.15 and see two movies. We loved the school and the teachers. The school at that time was all together on the hill in the village. I think of those days over 65 years ago quite frequently. There was a "Leave It To Beaver" world. My daddy was no Ward Cleaver but I lived those years. Some of the values from those two years are still with me today. Thanks so much for the post.

Thank you for sharing. I wanted to check out the neighborhood. It seems quite closely to my own city.

Thanks for the video! I had minor surgery there back in 1995 during one of my many visits to Pennington Gap. It's sad that it closed.
