definitely get your thinking - the bike was a goal, you achieved that goal, and especially with kids your priorities change so you've knocked out that goal and on to new horizons. Cool stuff man, enjoy the Leica!

Hey wrrproduction! thanks for taking the time to watch the video. I appreciate your comment, You totally get it. I just uploaded my next video where I reveal which Leica M I finally picked.

O well I was wrong, I thought you would keep the bike. I really enjoy your videos and share in your dilemma for owning a Leica. Rangefinder focus, Nailing focus with aging eyes just some of the challenges when my iPhone 13 pro max does such a good job, but in a totally different way. BUT like you I love the engineering and history of Leica, I look forward to following you on your journey.

Ian thank you for stopping by and your comment. From your situation, you understand the decision. Yeah I had to let go of one to gain the other. I’m ok with it because I got to experience the bike and that’s all I was after.

Good decision man! Are you doing an unboxing video when the camera (finally 😅) arrives?

Did you order new or used? And any thoughts on B&H vs Adorama?

    • @jayespinal
      @jayespinal  ปีที่แล้ว

Chumito, I was looking at a used Leica M10-P but after a ton of research I went with an unreleased M11 Monochrom. No regrets. I ordered from B&H because I been using them for 30 years and they have excellent support.

hey, happy new year - I just found your channel this morning - brilliant content; this is exactly where I am right now (well, one video back), I like my toys, I chop and change, my journey in photography sees me changing my camera every year! + this lens and that lens! (costing me thousands in depreciation) Leica has always been one that I stayed away from due to price. for the past 2 weeks I have been on the fence about getting a cheaper 240 Leica, (that's about max budget without selling stuff) but will I outgrow it- will I still crave bigger/better??? probably if history is anything to go by- so do I sell a few other toys, a bike? my boat? sell my pro 3 and XT5 + lenses and fully commit to a Leica M-P 10 with 35+50mm summicrons? ah man.... I just don't know 🤪😫🫣

Hey @gumpy_old_man_ie thank you for subscribing! Happy New year! If you seen my video "How the Leica Saves Me Thousands" you will see how I Yo-yo for years. Once I finally committed I have been having a blast with my camera. Its the NOT the easiest thing to use but that makes it that much more rewarding. I had to relearn photography all over again. I hope 2024 bring you clarity my friend. Thanks for watching, Happy New Year!

@@jayespinal yes, watched that video 1st, i totally agree, I have lost many 1000's changing gear, but I am not sure that the Leica is the end of it all 🫣 its a big commitment to go all into Leica!
I have been using voightlander 35mm & 27mm manual lenses on my fuji for some months and much prefer the more considered side of photography but Leica M's are another level of manual photography altogether !!!
anyway, thanks for replying to my comment, love the content - thanks

Life is short so we should try to squeeze as much joy out of it as we can. I hope it arrives on time and you get to enjoy it.

@@jayespinal I might get one as well simply because I LOVE the way it looks, and how small the lenses are.I don’t even care about the colors :-) I feel it’s the kind of camera I’d take everywhere. For a while, an A7c was my everyday camera, but I wasn’t happy with the EVF on it for the days I wanted to shoot manual with my Zeiss Loxias. Even though I had the more capable A74 and A7r3 cameras as well, I’d always pick the A7c when I headed out because I preferred the look and size. Similarly, I’d pair it with my 50mm G2.5 and leave my GM24/35mm at home. I loved my x100v as well and it was the perfect form factor, but I like to switch lenses now and then, so I sold it in anticipation of getting an M11.

@@dopevernacular2925 I found myself going through a similar situation and I finally realized the digital Leica was my answer. Since my personal more fulfilling work is mostly B&W the M11M was a no brainer.

I’m facing a similar situation… do I sell my Harley street Bob … and sell my Mp… or sell the Mp to keep the Harley… need to raise funds and can’t keep both …it’s a heartbreaking….choice .. been into Harley and Leica since mid 80 … so there really part of my life …😢😢😢

Forgot to say .. I have a 50 mm summarit up on my Mp .. (film). It’s a sweet lens .. nice and compact just as a Leica lens should be … enjoy … look forward to your unboxing…

@@deantaylor1512 good eye, you noticed. I looked at all the Leica 50mm glass on the market and the summarit ticked all the boxes for me: small, full frame, well built and 6bit coding. When I held it in my hand I was blown away by how small and compact it is. When it arrived I could not stop smiling. I’m so stoked on it that I carried it around for a few days and would look at it from time to time. A 50mm in such a small form factor is a marvel.

It’s certainly a jewel of a lens .. I love my one ..For years I was a 35 mm guy … but my eye changed and what I like to photograph .. so a 50 works for me at the moment..
Some of the 50 are like coke cans … not this little baby ..
      enjoy it …
