    UNBELIEVABLE! So if you needed to replace just the radiator you would have to recover the A/C in order to do so? So much for a simple inexpensive at home job... Now that's what I like, 0 thumbs down... (hope I didn't jinx it). Job well done! Thanks Eric.

    I’ve got the same truck with the same general problem. Slipped chain with bad tensioner. Been sitting for a year. I know I could fix this but decided to sell as I have a Tundra. I was close to getting a new engine as well. Good luck. I actually remember seeing on on car-part.com in Texas with 85k on it.

    Looks like Ford does not want you to fix that engine. Way too many steps to get that out of the car. A dealership may have some shortcuts after doing it many times, but you would still have a huge labor bill.

    Why Ford engineers design the timing chain in the back of the engine and also combining the radiator and condenser. its such a stupid design?

    • @jusb1066
      @jusb1066 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      They basically used an existing design and converted it from belt, then found didn't have room to drive both cams of the v-6 with 1 chain so used back chain to drive the other cam

    • @neilmurphy845
      @neilmurphy845 4 ปีที่แล้ว

      Yeah what a city design there's no need to have two chains every single car even the German ones and we all know how complicated they are have one chain

It's a daily thing when working on cars up North in the rust belt, I feel your frustration with those lines, 😀😀😀😀😀. Keep up the Great work.

      Mines at 198,000 miles and aside from basic repairs/maintenance, I’ve never had any major problems. Just do basic preventative care and repair things as they go out (which is not frequently), and you’ll have no problems with this vehicle. Still looks and runs the same as the first day I bought her. Never understood the hate for Explorers by some people.
