Barranco is my mom’s birthplace. I’ve visited there 3 times and took my 2 children there the last time. We had a wonderful time hearing my mom tell stories of her childhood here and giving us a tour. God bless this village and the residents.
I just got home from Belize a week ago, while we were there we drove out to barranco and spent the day walking around talking to people and walking in the ocean. Everyone we met was wonderful, and happy to answer our questions. I would hate to see this small close knit community changed for the sake of oil. All of southern Belize is a hidden jewel in my opinion.
I am very much interested in the historical aspect of sustenance the village depends on, but especially a more futuristic approach to maximize the use of its natural and human resources.
I’ve spent tao years with my family in Barranco on Keith Avilas Property next to my neb Carlota Palacio RIP A very special place, untouched at that time. No way out but by boat. I love Barranco the peaceful place Getting fresh fish at noon by the peer and trips to Punts Gorda for essentials that we could not get in Barranco. I sure hope that this exploration is where it stops 🛑 One of the last paradise places on earth 🌎
