I grew up in Arcadia and "Lucky" Baldwin lore was all around. The Los Angeles County Arboretum contains Baldwin's Victorian era "cottage" and matching coach house complete with ginger bread decorative finishings. I am lucky enough to have been in both buildings. There was also a large railroad station along the Santa Fe main line called Santa Anita which is now inside the Arboretum. One day Baldwin was in San Bernardo and wanted to return home. He asked the station master for a ticket to Santa Anita. He was told the train didn't stop in Santa Anita. He immediately telegraphed his ranch foreman and told him to have his workers tear up all the Santa Fe track running through all of his property. The ticket master immediately sold him a special ticket.

One small error in the description of this video: The grand railcar (a Pullman "palace" car) was purchased by Clara Baldwin, not Lucky Baldwin. She was rather extravagant and upon receiving her inheritance following her fathers death, she soon ordered the palace car from Pullman.

Correct, although they do describe the 'Pullman' purchase correctly during the video I believe.

25:14 It says, "Atchison, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad." I don't see why there's no AtchisDaughter, Topeka & Santa Fe Railroad.

Servants back then, and now, lived much better than the homeless people. How do you know Clara Baldwin had extramarital affairs? Were you peeking through her windows when she was alone with men?

+Stephan L. Dear Stephan, your remark is quite disingenuous about the late Huell Howser who has given us all thousands of hours of really entertaining and informative videos. Do understand that he was one of the most respectful and intelligent interviewers in his field. The curators at the Nethercutt Museum make sure that any hand prints or oils are quickly removed from the surface. To better understand the contribution that Huell has made to the public, please do visit here: blogs.chapman.edu/huell-howser-archives/2013/01/07/in-memoriam

He’s entertaining and I appreciate how much he introduced to people. It can be said that he gets excited in the moment and can show some accidental inconsiderate actions. I’ve seen a few episodes based on various restaurants and something he tends to do is point really closely to food that a customer is holding - he puts his hands so close to the food that he person about to eat it has to ask please don’t touch the meal/tray.

You're sitting at home, hating Huell Howser, and he doesn't know; he's out dancing, having a good time.
