Dyno jet reads the power from inertia and calculates torque from hp/rpm. As far as reading low, the block itself with the weather correction will make the most difference. Make sure the block has good airflow for accurate temp and humid settings
In alot of miatas the 5 gear teeth will break off. I've blown two 5th gears in my 150hp miata. The first replacement was a used transmission and the second time I bought a rebuild kit and that hasn't broke yet.
I feel your pain on the 5th gear woes! Literally just had 5th go out in my Evo X last October, right during the midst of Covid so it was all but impossible to get the parts to rebuild my trans. Ended up having to buy a 1k mile Shep built trans. #DontLoseSight
A lot of earlier 5 speeds in many cars have a pretty weak 5th gear as it’s only intention is to be the overdrive cruising on the highway, not designed to be beat on. A mate blew 5th gear out of his celica gearbox in his old Holden ute racing down the freeway. Older Toyota land cruisers were known to kill 5th gear when towing heavy loads etc as overdrive wasn’t built to be used hard. 👍
My car is pretty much done. Just needs a dyno tune 😎 Forged, big cam, ported heads and all the other supporting mods to go along with it as well as a new clutch to hold the power.
Hey try checking the clutch slave cylinder. Those can cause difficulty to shift on some or all gears. But it's weird never seen a manual transmission break at fith gear
Well i got a 2005 Pontiac Gto! On my way home from work i lost 2nd and 6th gear in my T-56! I’m pretty much stock just corsa exhaust, headers, tune, and cold air! I’ve got the worst luck here lately!

I recently learned how to drive manual in a 1997 pontiac firebird formula and I want nothing but manual cars now lol
You might want to invest in some solid driveline bushings (motor mounts, diff bushings etc), it’ll help reduce the shifter from shaking as bad
