To the people calling this rubber brushes or that sound is the paint being scratched. I have used spinlite tunnels before and my paint still looks good even with the evening sun on it (black car). I wanted to feel the brushes to see how they felt. The owner let me walk in the tunnel and feel them, they were soft and felt like they would be gentle on the car. Its closed cell foam material. I also been through a tunnel with normal fast spinning brushes that are also closed cell foam and they make a squeak sound also. Its just the characteristics of the material. I know carwashes arent perfect but this machine isnt as bad as people are making it out to be.

Depends how close you want to look. Even perfect looking paint if you look at it under a scope you will see scratches. Most new car wash being built today (including this one) use a closed-cell foam material that is designed to prohibit small particles of dirt and sand from collecting inside. Foam is the safest material used for car washing today (even safer than hand washing).
Everyone stop complaining about this car wash it does a great job when I looked at my car. This won't damage your car and this does not use rubber material. My car had no damages. This works just like hand wax.
Get the monthly basic wash and go through every 3 days then wipe down. Wipe out crevices of rims then car will stay nice. Florida is definitely designed for this procedure compared to the northern states. The brushes are very soft and really don't make swirl marks like the old school car washes. Also soaps and drying is much better. Put a coat of turtle wax ceramic hybrid on paint when car is new. The paint will look great for years. If you want it to look good taking care of it is crucial. Keeping up on coating is important.

The brushes are made out of the same thing scuba suits are made from. And I can tell you right now it shouldn't squeak. This means there is not enough lubrication, ie soap, on the brushes, or the speed is not fast enough, and there is too much pressure on the arms making the brushes push on the car too hard. All of which cause scratches. And those are definitely not spinning fast enough. Would you really want those rotating brushes cleaning your rims and then dragging the dirt from those down the side of your car like that. Nope. No way.

I'm sorry, but these things must use a huge amount of power to run and a lot of products, compared to someone just cleaning it by hand. You'll also get a much better end result, using a professional detailer or one of the many drive-in hand wash places.

And that reminds me, touch-less car washes use soap that is actually designed to burn through a mini layer of clearcoat to get the car clean.

That is called flashing. It’s scarily common how many touch free washes do this, however some don’t. Changing topic back to soft touch washes, they don’t damage clear coat period. Soft touch washes are actually much safer than hand washing because they use appropriate chemicals, safe brushes, etc. I get where you’re coming from though, it was widely known back when automatic car washes were first invented that they would scratch, because of the brush material.

These open air car washes are the best. The old closed in car wash at the gas stations stink! Literally, they smell really, really bad. For $10 bucks I can get my Tahoe washed. It costs me $15 at the manual car wash. Plus the vacuuming is free!

There wrap speed is to slow either adjust the speed on those wraps or just don’t have them come out at all. Because if that vehicle was really muddy they way those wraps are moving it wouldn’t did anything to get the mud off
Got to agree with most on here, that looks sketchy. Never known a car wash to make that much noise when in contact with a car. Something about it just doesn't fill me with confidence, whole system looks too flimsy.

We know what brushes decades ago did to paint. What about these. A d brushless ones just get the most off. But as we all see in the right light after going threw one you see there is still a film of dirt. And those of you that pay for wax treat in car washes are at minimum sealing in the dirt film. Nothing a machine can do to replace hand washes..and the old days of car wash services done by people. Biggest worry was using cleaning sponges, clothes etc that were used over and over again with out replacement every once in awhile. Or dropped clothes on the dirty floor. Bet that even happens at expensive detail shops.
They do instill light brush marring. When you hear the squeaking, there is nothing lubrication present. If they would use a more lubricated soap formula, they might be able to get a swirl free finish (unless a muddy vehicle goes through).
@@troyelliott8186 - It's true. Mud can still run off after the drying cycle. When I acquired my first wash, there was particles of mud/sand embedded in the weave of the cloth. If they could come up with a pre-softened bristle, I bet those might be "safer", because they would flush out easier than cloth or foam. That foam still has a texture to it, and can still hold sand.

My main concern is the potential damage from brushes that accumulate sand/dirt. IMHO. Automatic Car Washers are good Daily Drivers Cars that paint damage is not a concern. The main objective is to get the windows clean so you may safely drive the car.

Spinlites have LEDS on the rods. Spinrites (different to these) are rare and don’t have LEDS in the rods

There wrap speed is to slow either adjust the speed on those wraps or just don’t have them come out at all. Because if that vehicle was really muddy they way those wraps are moving it wouldn’t did anything to get the mud off

Got to agree with most on here, that looks sketchy. Never known a car wash to make that much noise when in contact with a car. Something about it just doesn't fill me with confidence, whole system looks too flimsy.

We know what brushes decades ago did to paint. What about these. A d brushless ones just get the most off. But as we all see in the right light after going threw one you see there is still a film of dirt. And those of you that pay for wax treat in car washes are at minimum sealing in the dirt film. Nothing a machine can do to replace hand washes..and the old days of car wash services done by people. Biggest worry was using cleaning sponges, clothes etc that were used over and over again with out replacement every once in awhile. Or dropped clothes on the dirty floor. Bet that even happens at expensive detail shops.
They do instill light brush marring. When you hear the squeaking, there is nothing lubrication present. If they would use a more lubricated soap formula, they might be able to get a swirl free finish (unless a muddy vehicle goes through).
Even worse if you follow in a brush car wash behind very dirty trucks etc. Not all that gets washed off before your car goes threw I bet ya.
@@troyelliott8186 - It's true. Mud can still run off after the drying cycle.
When I acquired my first wash, there was particles of mud/sand embedded in the weave of the cloth.
If they could come up with a pre-softened bristle, I bet those might be "safer", because they would flush out easier than cloth or foam. That foam still has a texture to it, and can still hold sand.
@@troyelliott8186 The reality is - the brushes are properly (and automatically) rinsed with every rotation. So even if a muddy truck is in front of you, there’s no need to feel concerned about the risk of scratches, as it’s extremely low.

My main concern is the potential damage from brushes that accumulate sand/dirt. IMHO. Automatic Car Washers are good Daily Drivers Cars that paint damage is not a concern. The main objective is to get the windows clean so you may safely drive the car.

I avoid this kind of car wash. But the lights make the car really clean.
