I have all four brand new Monster High Skulltimate Secrets Monster Mysteries dolls to unbox today!
I found all 4 of these at Target, but I had to ask an associate to grab these for me from the back. I’ll share the DPCI codes for the dolls so you can find them easily as well!

The theming for this doll line is very pronounced, with the first looks being these gorgeous popstar performance outfits and the second looks beings dance rehearsal ballet themed looks.
I’ve always adored the mix and match styling potential of Skulltimate Secrets and even tho the fashion for this line is very cut and dry, there is still some wiggle room for fun restyling and creative expression!
There are some shortcomings in this line which I mention throughout the video, but overall I am very satisfied with how all four ghouls turned out!

I loved the water key reveal and it was the funniest part for me when opening it but honestly the coffin casing is SOO much better designed that I’m I think I’ll live without I’m just excited about that LOL
This is such a letdown because not only they’re pretty but they’re outfits are good and Why is Mattel so obsessed with using Poly? I’m not blaming Monster High. I’m blaming Mattel
Yeppp I think they just get cheap when it comes to the hair and it’s a shame because the other aspects like fashion and design are so strong! Mattel is all about the bottom line unfortunately :/

@@gothgammy666i mean some of us collectors really care about how hair feels to the touch, I love to play with my dolls hair and poly just ain’t the nicest to touch, not to mention longevity… it has many negative points so it’s fair for some people to avoid dolls because of poly
@@gothgammy666 I don't think that's fair to say. Sometimes one little thing can ruin an entire thing as a whole. The hair of a doll can really make a doll feel cheap and low quality.
I agree that ballet Cleo is a star!! You did a great job on her restyle
screaming!!! i’ve been waiting so long to get this abbey doll. i was a monster high super fan when i was a child and this line has really made my love come back in full force!!! poly hair be damned, im obsessed!

Abbey wins the day for me in this line! I think the "coffins" are better but you have a point about the storage aspect. Looking forward to seeing these in the store as they have not reached my area of the East Coast yet. Great review, makes me wish I could do hair!
Yes! But please just ditch the hunk of plastic…I wish they would do more like LoL OMG Surprise…then they can use Saran and people can stop complaining.
I saw Drac and Cleo at Target (had to drive an hour to get there) and there were three young ladies gathered around, so I waited until they dispersed and was going to get Drac, but then made eye contact with one of the girls down the aisle and the sad look in her eye made me put her back. There was only one of each so...I'll get this lovely doll eventually ^^

I think the middle part would be better if it also opened, instead of having the doll push out the top.

I love that you appreciate the details! There is some thoughtful design to a lot of these accessories 💕 (also, love how you organize your dolls in the back 🐺🐱)
These lockers are at least very pretty & detailed. And the key too. I would be attracted if I was a kid also. I feel the other lockers were boring. These could make beautiful doors or closets for a doll room. Or display on wall. And they're different colors. The dolls & accessories are very nice & details! Just poly hair sucks🙄
These are a lot prettier but they are a little clunky to store since they don’t even stack or lay flat because of the sliding piece you build to reveal the doll. The poly is always gonna suck but they’re still gorgeous overall I think
As a young collector, these are probably my favorite dolls. I’ve actually have played with them a bit lol
Love the way you styled them! This will be my first G3 Abby. I never really connected to her first release. I adore the reroot you did and the finish you gave her horns!
Thanks! The horns stand out a tad bite more now which love. This new Abbey is just stunning, her face screening is so much nicer than her core so she’s a perfect first Abbey!

Thanks Eli, this was a great review of the 4 dolls. I appreciate the two different looks you put each doll in, and I think a third look is the ballet performance look, where they have the tutus and tights and toe shoes, and maybe if it's a real drama they have the breastplates and headresses as well. Haha, I used to go to a lot of opera when I was a kid.
Anyway, love your in depth review and closeups of all the details. I'm really looking forward to adding some of these to my collection.

You could reroot abbey with kiwi nylon instead of saran since nylon has a lot of color options like poly
I know, I might have to enter my nylon era soon!
These dolls are so pretty! Just wished they toned down with the lockers and go back to cardboard boxes. Lastly, we all don’t like the poly hair so that needs to go too. 💕

Drac should've been catty or toerlai idk since this is Metallic popstar themed it would be smarter to put the singer girls in the line also drac is just very disappointing for me the last 2 SS lines with neon frights being the worst out of the 5 and this one being worst out of the 4 again
Yeah Drac is so popular and most likely sells super well so I get it. I actually did like NF Drac despite some of her pieces being super ugly lol but I do understand the Drac fatigue
Draculaura IS a vampire Elijah! Of course she can float!! I’d put her in the highest position.
The ballet warmup needs the tights. If you want a unique top my thought is an oversized t-shirt with cut off sleeves & neck and the bottom make it so it can be tied…think flashdance. I’d try to match the color of the t-shirt. But yeah the ballet look is missing the tights. The top you put on ballet Abby is pretty close to what I’m envisioning.
You did sooooo good with Abby’s re-root! I wish I had 1/10th your talent!!
I think the sculpt for Abby’s head is different actually.
Do you do hair commissions?? Because those Cleo & Abby re-roots are killing me!!!
Ok that’s it! I’m going to try a re-root! I dislike Cleo’s hair just that much. I’m not a G1 person so I don’t like the brown & that tinsel is excessive. I prefer Cleo with the bright lapis or turquoise colored hair. So I’m going to watch every one of your hair videos, practice on a couple clearance dolls then go for it!!
When u found them did it say they were available online for pick up? I'm debating going to check my stores more frequently
They don’t have active listings yet but I had the dpci codes for each doll and asked an associate at electronics if they had them in stock and they grabbed them from the back for me!
This Clawdeen just needs an afro for her non-braided hair tbh
as someone who also collects from other fandoms (transformers etc) the coffins really get me. they are worse than the recent Voyager Optimus with a square box trailer at Leader (the bigger size class & price point than voyager). i just end about thinking how many extra accessories we could get with that coffin parts budget, just like i think of what a Leader Optimus with no trailer would be like. its a big waste of budget imo.
Woww interesting to hear similar occurrences happening in other collecting spheres. The lockers are just so wasteful and cumbersome, also just the sheer amount of plastic they use to make them is so saddening too

ill relate to you an amusing thing thats happening. in the most recent transformers line, Legacy we are doing re-dos of fan favourite characters.
We just did the most wonderful Queen, the Royalty, the extremely extra (trust me you would love him) Beast Wars Megatron in his third season form (outfit) a mighty dragon, with spectacular wings.
His Queen energy is so strong its making every other Leader (the second highest price point, there is also commander darling, but thats hundreds of dollars & aimed at adults) look like trash & low value.
I'm holding Legacy Skyquake right now who is a fantastic figure with clean paint apps, & a strong personality, & great jet mode- but he feels like awful value compared to the Queen Dragon Megatron who sits under my desk lamp.
Im sure you can relate to wave queens overshadowing the competition :D

I love Monster High g3 dolls. The only doll i have issues with the hair is clawdeen. Her hair has so many dead ends

I am trying to get one of each character in G3 but I am only choosing from my favourite line, so far I have original release lagoona, drac and venus and the festival clawdeen but I think my Abbey is going to be this skulltimate one!

I think Target is slated to put them out on shelves this Sunday but a lot of stores have been putting them out early! And yep same here, poly hair is always a letdown

I was very disappointed with the details in this one for my draculara doll, i expted it to look a lot less boring than it did 😭😭 also for the gimmick, i also expected to find secrets on the actual boxing and stuff but didn't!! Very boring lol, im customizing it though so its less boring!!
Also when I talk about details, I mean for the color!! Like the lack of multiple colors REALLY disappointed me

they fucked up core abbey's screening, one of her eye is longer than the other on every other doll, I think it's because she's made in Indo, all the indo screenings are kinda messed up

Can i ask please don’t shoot video in HDR. It looks so weird and it doesn’t give much advantage if one shoots indoors. Most of us watch on mobile devices any way it HDR doesn’t give an advantage but looks weird. Like you look with orange skin tone.
Thank you for the feedback! Looking back I think my lighting overall was a tad harsh but I’ll def take note of HDR when I export the vids
I don’t really know what HDR is but I love the quality of the videos. I look forward to these reviews because of how good the camera quality is, I can really see the details💕
