Stan, as a father, I am finding these types of videos very encouraging. I have a son that is not an academic, but loves working with his hands. It is awesome to see that he can use his skills to build and support a good life for himself and his future family. God bless!
Met and worked with Ed in Pittsburgh, PA on a job at Phipps conservatory building a pretty big pond with a bio basin and a huge huge underground rain water harvesting system under a parking lot. That was a great fun time. Actually loved worked working with them.
Stan I can relate to so much you do. I put a pond in my mom's back yard. Worked great for about 3 years. Then a bad storm came through and blew a 4 inch think and about 4 foot long limb right into the ground. Ruined that liner. I couldn't get the limb out. So I cut it off below ground, and laid about 3 inches of carpet between the ground and the new liner. Worked fine.
I love these videos because I am 13 and I want to do landscaping and snow removal for a living. I am trying to obtain as much information about this as I can and how to do it on a professional scale. So that I can start making money as soon as possible to buy equipment to make company. bigger
Love your videos, I watched these videos through aquascape before, seeing this again through your channel gave me a pep in the step to give one of these systems a try. It's all there you guys laied out numbers and all.
*anticipation for the next video intensifies* Yes! I love videos like this! It gives spacial thinkers (like myself) a much easier time grasping the project, and the scale/prep required. As well as seeing it start to finish is gratifying.
I wish I could do this in Arizona, but I'd have to add a jackhammer to the tool list. Our soil is just unbelievably hard, you can't get more than like 2 inches down with a shovel.
For a second I thought this was "install a backyard pond in ONE STEP" and I thought you had come up with some funny bootleg pond LOL. like using a giant tree-ball scoop and throwing a liner in, or a demo gone wrong and the basement's flooded
I used to go to their warehouse just to checkout the newest and latest stuff! That job in this video would actually take longer tho... They are in a Giant hole full of SAND ! ! ! If I tried to dig that down here now in the Atlanta area I would need a backhoe and pray that I could get thru the shale and granite. ; - )
Those shallow shelves are also conducive to HERONS to eat your/ your customers fish: build the pond with 15”-18” shelves & total depth 30” - 36” with a fish TUNNEL, not cave... unless you prefer spending that money on a gorgeous water feature only to string fishing line or put a tent with a net over. Trust me and at least give the customer an option for a deeper pond, explaining what I did below. Unfortunately the kits aren’t available in 3’ depth. I have a motion activated sprinkler, a fish cave, lush planting around the pond, including a tree overhanging the whole pond, and fishing line and the herons still decimated my pond including the $300 Kikokuryu koi from Japan, because my pond has 2’ of water. The heron used the fish cave as a “fatal funnel”: the fish only had one way in and one way out, so the heron would wait for them to come out of the cave and then whack them. Don’t get me wrong, I’m a strong believer in the Aquascape system, but NOT at 2’ of depth.
One day by hand.... HA. Haven't found a customer yet with 30 inches of fine screened topsoil throughout the property or a crew 50+ years experience. Come on down to Houston and dig in this muck. P.S. I dig it ( pun intended & not intended) Looking forward to start putting some in
Funny you say 1 day .... some pond co near me has been installing 1 pond for say 18 mos yard is a wreck materials all over front yard lawn dead and gone ...
The place near me in Montgomery County Maryland wants $400 for a pallet. That will be my large and medium boulders. $150 delivery fee. So I'm looking at 1350 and that's not including gravel or small stones 1-3". I don't think these prices are feasible nor is the rock situation. Also He said they don't need the toro but he said large boulders are 500 pounds. How will people lift 500lb boulders without machinery?
@@GregWittstockThePondGuy in the real world when this is in someone's yard in the humid midwest, it will become an unkept mosquito pond. They all do. Kinda like treadmills end up collecting dust in people's basements lol. That's a cool Aligator snapper in your pic though.
Lol this guy talking about in nature it doeant look good with just small boulders or just large boulders? This is MN, ponds have zero boulders laying around them here lmao. There, just saved you a ton of money!
for the future, it would be nice to see what the guy is talking about instead of seeing him. The guy is literally trying to show us something and the camera doesn't even show it. Really frustrating to watch and i'm only 9 and half min in...
dont do what these guys are doing its over priced, my mum breeds and sells japenese koi. if you want to know what to do and what equipment to use, look at what the breeders do even call them up for advise there always keen to help (future customers). my mums private pond is 32 feet by 18 feet and 10 foot deep (8 plus feet and pond will never freeze and fish will like you)

I know Dirt Monkey you're focused more towards the pros, but I'm a homeowner and this is great for me. Thanks for the summertime project!
No problem Don, happy you liked the vid! Thanks !
Lol it's so funny how simple inbedded onboard battery incorporated into an electronic clock can buzz you guys out haha 😂

Rudy Albrecht lots of successful Contractors in Hotlanta!
You just cheesed off allot of contractors (not me, i think it's wonderful).
Stanley, you have more energy than the Eveready Bunny!! I’m thinking there must be three of you!! Tell the truth Stanley, you have been cloned.
It's the ENERGIZER BUNNY! Yes Eveready makes the Energizer battery, but the bunny represents the ENERGIZER battery, and none other. Just saying

Stanley, can you share how much elevation from skimmer to waterfall head. Wondering how high I can pump the water?

Norte Warrior sadly typical! “Ponds Done Wrong”
Does the link no longer work to purchase pond kit? I can't get it to open
Ol No-Shovel Stanley
What sort of fish can this system sustain?
Not related to this video idk how to dm you. Seriously though I need your absolute most honest opinion on the spartan srt mowers
Confused. 1-2-1 is only 4 ton of stone. Am I missing something?
Unless he meant the gravel because that is 1 ton.
STANLEY YOUR DOING A POND AND WE ARE GETTING 2 TO 4 IN OF SNOW WHAT THE HECK
Wow, where do you buy your rock? I am paying $1,150 for 5 tons of boulders!
B&B Lawn Care 😳 Ask Dan!
A rock yard near me was trying to charge me 3 grand for 6 tons. Price of rock depends on your area.

Seriosly you really need some kind of gimbal for your camera. Its soooo bad recording quality. Sorry to say. Content of your videos is great.
There are many parts in New Jersey and Pennsylvania that I can think of that you are not digging anything that fast.
Do I need to have a Landscape contractor's license to start this business?
Interesting! Why is this Koi Pond inside a warehouse ?
NHseacoast it’s a training sandbox
The kit is no longer on this link.
How did 1300 $ turn onto 2700$ following your link ...
Thats regular pricing if your a contractor it'll cost you less
Dirt monkey website hasn't work in a few months 🧐
Superb profit levels,do it right and build a brand 😏

1,300.00 not bad for a good sized mosquito breeding kit.

@@GregWittstockThePondGuy like I said, eventually these backyard ponds usually end up unkept and looking like crap.
@@pryme2013 Those are the result of homeowners who had guys build ponds that didn't know what they were doing...be honest.
Nice video hand digging in sand much less time and effort. Digging in hard clay and dirt not so easy, need to use a mini ex.
Thanks for watching Samuel !
If only I didn't have to dig that in heavy red clay instead of clean, dry sand. :)
Paul Frederick add a few man hours
That kit is $3K not $1300 to $1500.
First comment and last comment for me
You need a gimbal to keep your camera steady. Getting sick watching your twitchy hands hold the camera. Hard to watch.
