I bought a cheap pair of air force ones and took inspiration from avatar the last airbender and turned them into Aang (or i guess air still fits lol) force ones. I wear them once in a while but they’re more of a statement piece and just so i can be like “yeah this was something I did solely because I could and totally not because it looks cool or anything” but yeah i love people who do customs especially people who paint shoes into something new and creative

You can’t really resent someone for being less into some interest than you are, in the end. Especially now that teenagers get into fashion and luxury. I’m only 27 years old, but I started getting into designer fashion when I was 20/21, and back then VERY FEW people under 25 cared about fashion, and most people even disliked me for wearing designer clothes and saw me as someone pretentious for dressing well/expensively. Now it’s just become a trend, and with all trends come bandwagonners who don’t know their shit, it’s just what happens, and it’s not that important. Just the fact that most people « into fashion » think luxury items come from « the same factory » as counterfeit items says a lot about their knowledge. Imo either they’ll grow out of fakes, or they’ll grow out of fashion once it’s not a trend anymore, no big deal. 8:21 I am guilty of this, I had turned my ‘nc to chi’ into some breds. When I had first gotten into sneakers I was looking at Jordan’s checking out what I’m feeling and the bred 1s really caught my eye, with zero knowledge on sneakers when I went to check the price I was honestly expecting it to be max $150 or something 😂, you can imagine my surprise. eventually I did settle for the at the time $150 gym reds and am happy with them to this day. when I saw the nc to chi I saw the huge custom opportunity and picked them up immediately, I did decide to paint a bright red because that’s what I imagined them as when I had first seen images of the breds. also I’m not gonna act like I’m a huge fan of this but the full tumbled leather does make it kinda unique and give it character. in the end you can barely tell and I’m very happy with the final product
I'm all about bootlegs of all types. The original pieces can be expensive AF and at the end of the day I only want to rock that specific design so who cares... I honestly don't. I proudly say to everyone that I'm wearing bootlegs because is much more fun to be stylish & save money lol If I really like a piece and I can somehow afford it, I will make an effort to buy the original, not because I want to support the company or anything but just bc I want a quality piece
