Seeing thrips makes me remember the last times I had thrips and I just felt that trauma resurfacing 😖 It took so, SO long to get rid of them. Good luck! I hope it goes much better for you
At some point thrips spread through all ~100 of my plants and after a year of fighting them I've now accepted that we will just coexist, only treating the really major outbreaks😣
My Syngonium white butterfly was COVERED in thrips, but I treated it with end all and then bug b gone alternating a few times and haven't seen any thrips since the first day. I know it is a lot, but out of all my plants that I've treated for thrips, my Syngonium handled it best and had no signs of thrips soonest. I'd recommend giving it a shot if you really love the plant! I believe in you!
I'm so sorry for you.....I am close to 4 weeks into dealing with Thrips in my plant room plus a little spider mite outbreak (those aren't a problem on comparison) and I am so over it! I treated everything twice so far with End All and they're still coming back. I have some Doktor Doom thrip spray coming in the mail tomorrow and The Grub Grenade Beneficial Mites coming on Friday......I really hope it works as they are causing a lot of damage. My next course of action will be Green Lacewings if this doesn't fix it......or a new hobby :-(
if i were you, i'd actually spread the plants around my home and treat them all regularly. i'd clean the room up and down, and then slowly move them back in, whenever a plant starts showing pests i'd take them away and clean up the area.
Lucia, I got thrips on my syngonium and I sprayed it and then sealed it in a ziplock for a couple of weeks until I was sure they were gone. Shame to throw it out if you like it.
Captain Jack’s spray and then Bonide shaken over the roots every two months. I spray outdoors in the summer, but I bring my plants to the shower in the colder months so the whole house doesn’t get slimed. I was fine with neem oil for a while, but with fancy plants I don’t take chances, especially after my first encounter with thrips.
Coming up on my 4th year collecting and my nemesis are 🕷 mites. Ugh. Can't count how many plants I've chucked because of them. Now that I'm knowledgeable about them I can catch them early.
I just fought thrips on 4 new plants I bought, wasn’t too bad but I’d say root rot is my biggest issue since the weather got colder 🙄 never had issues last year, but the past 3 weeks I probably removed root rot on about 15 plants 🙃
So i is not just me! I have had at least 5 plant with well established roots completely die off. Luckily i was able to reroot them but damn it was so stressfull and painfull to see big plants struggle like that!
@@marianne9691 yes!!! I can’t figure out what’s going wrong 😂 Even the plant that was the happiest & healthiest in my collection this past year just got root rot 🤦🏼♀️ it’s so strange!!
I can't thank you enough for this video 😭 I hate your dealing with them bastards 😤 I was worried I had them but thanks to you ..I know know I don't have them it's a soil mite I guess
omg I just found thrips for my first time and that’s not even the worst part….,as I was showering off my ctananthe that i’ve had for years I must have disturbed the soil amd for the next hour I watched red, skinny worms crawling out of it! Omg i’ve been so stressed! I finally watered it with hydrogen peroxide and water and that was the end of the worms crawling! I have to repot it obviously because I really don’t have the heart to throw away! Has anyone ever had this happen to them?

Thank you for actually showing what to look for! I’m always wondering if something is a pest, but I don’t really know!
This happens to everyone with plants!!! Thank you for showing us how you deal with those pests!!!! Have a great week!!
Girl you are a CHAMP for doing this mid semester! I would have had 7 mental breakdowns... best of luck getting rid of them!
My new syngonium also has thrips, I treated with captain dead bug but I think I'll replace the soil too
Your plant look so healthy. How to grow them so healthy?
I actually bought the same exact plant last month and realized that it was infested with thrips. I threw it away as soon as I noticed 😂

Try borax- it killed/evicted the outbreak that I had in my yard. I can't give advice on the dosage but there's a lot of videos around for that I bet.
we are in Canada, so we are limited in what treatments are available

what is end all? amd where do I get it?
I wonder if the cat can transfer the bugs when rubbing up against them.
I try to treat my plants for bugs on a schedule so I don’t have to deal with outbreaks anymore.

It was SUPER infested :( my place isn’t big enough to keep it far enough away
I understand, I hate thrips 😡
Nice plant,, 👍👍👍

Your Gloriosum is SO gorgeous! Did you get her that large originally?
It had 5 large leaves when I got it! I’ve propagated many times and so it’s grown SOOO many leaves
That Gloriosum is just wow!😳💚
What camera do you use for your videos? Your quality is so nice 🤩
Thank you! Sony zv1
I'm sure this will be an interesting video 😁
My cat once ate a whole spider plant 🪴 in one day while I was gone😄
Must've been a super awful trip... Spider plants are hallucinogenic to cats.
Hai Lulu's morning,, 🤗🤗🤗
What was she treating these with?

The only plants my cat would attack is the anthurium, aka the expensive ones.

Happend to my newest plant too
💚💚
If you put your syngonium in soapy water for an hour it should drown them.

On all three leaves why are all the edges damaged
Just age and watering issues!
I know you already use beneficials in some of your plants, but maybe recruiting more will take a load off your shoulders. 🙂
