- With a hero's welcome, the Gary Sinise Foundation brought WWII veterans and their guardians to The National WWII Museum in New Orleans. One-of-a-kind experience that included a tour of this incredible museum, as well as entertainment, celebratory meals and an opportunity for community with their fellow veterans.

My great grandfather served in WW2. He was a Navigator on board a B-17, during the Raid of Berlin. The Belching Buzzard. He died when my dad was a junior in High School. I never had the chance to meet him, but the stories of what he did, live on in my family. Thank you to all the WW2 Veterans, especially to those who didn't come home.
I remember going to the VFW as a kid with my Dad and would just listen to their stories. Funny stories. Seems like they enjoyed the good times. A word was said and all went quiet. Many many years later I realized that word brought back the horror that they all had.
I love you Gary, dear god protect us from the enemy within. It breaks my heart to see what is going on in America today. After the tremendous sacrifice our veterans have given.

5:04 - are you trying to give these guys a flashback? Jesus lol. About the black soldiers.... Thank god for these men. They served willingly for a country that didn't always treat them with the honor and respect they deserved, yet they chose to be the bigger man and still put their lives on the line for us. Younger generations of Americans (of all colors) could learn a lot from these gentlemen.
Recommend the book they fought alone by charles glass french resistance fighters with allied troops in the town of castelineau in France.
