"Light My Fire Spork" has a spoon on one side and a fork/knife on the other. Maybe put all that gear in a bowl and put the bowl in the beanie. If you want to upgrade the flashlight, get a headlamp. I remember when I first used one while backpacking and thought it so much easier to be able to work hands-free that having one became a requirement from then on. Also, the earplugs with a wire that connects them together are nicer to prevent them from being easily lost and you can hang them around your neck when not in use. Other possibilities: Waterproof playing cards A toy whistle shaped like animals or fun characters are enjoyable for kids to play with but can also function as real survival whistles in emergencies. Magnifying glass to start a fire (and be a kind of toy).
Excellent suggestions. I definitely prefer headlamps I learned to love them backpacking for the reasons you mentioned. I thought about putting them in the beanies, but we have them in our get homes bags and the cost is higher. I may still do that though. Great thought on the earplugs! I never thought about that. We do carry cards and other forms of entertainment in the kit that we share with everyone. We did a video on that and this one is an update on the personal kits: Emergency Car Kit with a Twist: th-cam.com/video/8TTUjETebAw/w-d-xo.html I am going to add a magnifying glass to the kit we share. I loved those as a kid. Thanks!
Again, love it! I ordered in some stuff to make my own version of these. We live in the desert and I too mention that cold is still an issue even when it's 120 during the day. I will tag you guys in my video when it's uploaded. Take Care!
Another great video. You can get toilet seats that are made to clip on 5-gallon buckets pretty cheap plus it's much easier to sit in than hovering or sitting on a sharp edge of the bucket. Also, we buy tubeless toilet paper for our packs, barely takes up any room. Another idea that I would throw in the beanie is a couple single one-use wet wipe packages. don't take up any room and kids get messy after eating where dry napkins may not work. Again, taking care of feet. I use hand warmers in my socks to keep my feet warm in cold weather. Coloring pages torn out of a coloring book and Dollar Tree 5 pack crayon might be good if you might have little ones with you.
I saw a post where someone bought those cheap pool noodles, slit them lengthwise, cut to length and put them on the edge of bucket. That might work well and the noodle can store in the bucket with the wag bag. I might try that and do a short video on how well it works. I have never used a bucket before. I think I could get use to that. I did add wet wipes to the kit along with the napkin. I agree with the feet and I have put the warmers in my socks and it was heaven. I didn't add anything for the kids or adults to occupy their time. We keep all that in the main kit in the car. We went over that in the other video so I didn't mention it in this one. We keep cards and various word games, coloring books and other items in our main kit.
Have you thought of a Merino wool Buff? Multiple uses from wearing on your head or neck in winter, to keeping sun off your head and neck during the summer.
I suggest travel pee bags, which are smaller, can be used by females and they are ziplocks to keep it contained. I ordered some on Amazon and keep at least one in my Get Home bag. How about a very small note pad and mechanical pencil?
I’m the snorer Sowwy I started snoring when super tired, by age 21. I’m now almost 60. It’s just worsened and is every night. Ppl besides my kids can’t sleep in same room - I’ve been told I “should take something for that”. Ignorami abound 🙄

That is a great item to point out. I use one backpacking and I never take it off. I will throw some in my kit that I share.
