I’ve learned early on not to use a single sling camera bag to protect my back that is sure to bother me decades from now. What works for me is a small (and narrow) backpack from LowePro made specifically for drones. With careful arrangement, it fits my XPro-3 with the 50-140mm attached, a 33mm lens, and all the accessories and implements I need. The balance (and comfort) of a backpack on the back during long walks is often overlooked by most.
Totally agree. Sling camera bags are not meant to carry at its full capacity and I learned it the hard way. Been cutting down the load ever since. Btw, that's a smart choice using a drone backpack!
Excellent video! I suffer from "overpackonitus" Currently I am using a Built Ny Neoprene camera bag, depending on the cameras I am using I have a large version of the bag and or small version same bag. I currently shoot with a Pentax KP with a 18-55mm and a 50-200 zoom, I usually bring a vintage 50mm lens or 35-70mm, I have a bag which has a microfiber cloth, spare batteries and an additional SD card. I also have a Pentax Q that I will sometimes bring or just use as a main camera. The challenge I have is limiting lens . I usually carry a water bottle, some snacks, phone and a monopod. I tend to do landscape/nature photography. I do shoot film as well, but will switch out cameras and bags accordingly. On occasions I will carry a small point and shoot in a pocket. no matter it always seem I end up using less than I bring and I agree gear can be a distraction.
Haha same! Been shredding ever since it starts to hurt my shoulder and back. Using a fixed lens camera helps with limiting lens but might not work very well with nature photography. I should really consider making some space for snakes tho great idea!
Canon R5, 16mm, 50mm, 100-400mm is what I’m currently using. Rebuilding lenses after a robbery, the bag is new and it feels great!
Really nice coverage you got there! Sorry to hear about the robbery but glad you are enjoying your new bag
