I was captivated by the performance of Vanity and the 7th Heaven Dancers in this video clip. I see that there is some questioning of Vanity's singing ability in some quarters. I personally think comparing Vanity to other singers like Whitney Houston or Mariah Carey is like comparing apples and oranges. I think you take Vanity for what she was - an enticing and charismatic entertainer. Also a couple of the dancers were really burning the dance floor. I didn't really fixate on the song and dance when I saw the movie as a kid, but looking back I appreciate this more.

Then the '90s came and Kate Moss who is barely 5'6 walked every single runway. I also read that Vanity was so gorgeous in person that it was almost distracting to work with her. When she walked on the street or into a room literally everyone would look at her. I can see why it seemed like she did not have many girlfriends before she left her career because these girls would have been so jealous. One woman who interviewed her said that she had interviewed the most beautiful models and actresses but when Vanity walked in she was stunned.
