These guys are saving the electro trap scene (or however you want to call it) from the repetitive mediocracy I've been seeing as of late from most artist.
OK new post because the other one was ridiculous. First lemme say, I like this song. I have heard some other music labeled as trap and some of it is ok. No hating on this artist or "trap" in general. If you were offended that i called this dubstep, my reply is, "really?" So I did some research because I like music of most kinds and have been listening to electronic music for over 20 years and I found this explanation that makes the most sense to me. "The difference between dubstep and trap is that trap only uses 808 bass (for the most part) and basically one pattern of hats. Dubstep, at the same tempo (140), uses any and all cool sounding basses and synths (wobbles, growls, wavetables, Frequency modulation etc.). What people fail to realize is that an 808 bass is just a sine wav, or your basic sub bass; and that this bass is layered underneath basically all nasty dubstep sounds. So in a way trap is hollowed out, unfinished dubstep." To me, this song sounds different than 99% of the other songs labeled as trap. So again, I'm sorry i mistook this song as dubstep. The idea that one would get so offended and defensive boggles my mind. I read another thread in my research that said basically dubstep is for white people and trap is for black people. I say we all just listen to what we want cause we like it and call it what we want cause it's music. I thought Run DMC and Aerosmith squashed all this genre separatist bs back in the 90's but i guess not.
Fuck who or what brought you to this video. I want to know when another show like this is gonna happen (preferably in the U.S). The lighting used in this concert and the music go hand in hand. #RaveLife

I was just noting how I was playing similar sounds 10, 15, 20 years ago and ppl were like, "whats this?". Apple makes a few commercials, a few mainstream musicians adopt the style and suddenly, everybody likes it.

And to my point, if there were rap lyrics in this song, apple probably would've cut them or used a different song. They were clearly going for the "dub/dubstep" sound that seems to be mainstream these days. But yeah, it's sick. Reminds me of the good 'ol days. Parties in abandoned warehouses using generators. No fliers, you had to know somebody. And the threat of being shut down was always part of the thrill.
