You had to be there the summer of 88 when this album dropped, the same year Keith Sweat first album dropped, GUY first album dropped. Serveral great R&B and hip hop albums and songs dropped that year it was a bomb ass summer. That was the first year of New Jack Swing sound created by Teddy Reiley

Cute video. The reactions are definitely expected.. lol. We all wore this video out as youngins. Loved every sec. Al B. Sure! was and is still is that DUDE! AMAZING HUMAN BEING.💯❤️😁‼️ "Nite and Day" (proper title of how he spelled it for his album In Effect Mode 1988) will always and forever be an amazing song. Al and Kyle definitely put their foot all up into that production and body of work.
His son Quincy Brown also did a remake of his Dads #1 hit back in 2017. It was a great duet of them two recreating magic but Q put his own lil spin on it as well as the video.
It's titled "I Can Tell You (Night and Day 2.0)". Peep the video as it also had his lovely Mother Kim Porter in it as well.

So you heard this playing while you were in the car, JT?
Everyone should listen to "Night And Day" by Al B. Sure at least once in their life.
This was the competition musicians had to deal with in 1988.
I watched your video to the very end... I 'like' watching your videos because you are you, JT.
I'm glad I didn't miss out on your 'he (OG light-skinned dude) is putting TOO MUCH on it' observation.
My gratitude to you for using this song, JT.

I'm not going to lie... in the late 80's and early 90's we were super expressive on videos and always struck a pose for a picture. It's funny now but we didn't have cameras and videos like y'all have now. Most of us didn't know how to act. I have to stop myself from hitting the B-boy stand or taking a knee for a picture. The song is still good though...

I bood him on the 1988 NE Heartbreak tour. His backup singers performed better than him. I was sooo disappointed. He did redeem himself decades later at a back to the old school show. I prepared myself to boo again, but he fixed all of the previous problems and shut up the naysayers. I gave him props for singing and dancing at that show. So there's hope. Sidenote: I had to boo Cherelle at this same show because she was horrible, unlike her concert in the 80's when she was at her prime.
