Cool. You won't be disappointed. I am a fair weather rider, but I took the bike down to the post office yesterday as it was school pick up time and I can never park in the car. Once I was on it I didn't want to go home, so I did a 15 mile thrash just to get the bikes juices flowing. Wow that thing goes. Hold on above 7,000 RPM. They don't call it the mini Hayabusa for nothing - the BHP is higher than a lot of modern bikes, as I am sure you know. Stay tuned for more videos this summer and get a camera so we can see how you get on!
They are great. That is why I have bought my second one after a brief unhappy dalience with a Honda Blackbird. I have been away for three weeks and mine is kept outside under a cover but today it started on the button.
@@LINKchris87 Hello Thai. I think a Blackbird would be a good choice for a younger guy (I am in my 60's) who is taller than me. Because I didn't do my research, I found that it was too high for me (I am under 1.8 meters) and the weight (223Kg - or nearly 50Kg more than a modern sports bike) meant I felt like I could easily drop it at a stop - I never did though. If I had been 6 foot tall, I don't think that would have been a problem. Also I bought one that had done 55,000 miles and it didn't like being over-wintered outdoors, so I encountered all sorts of running problems for a while. So the negativity was largely my fault I think. If I was 20 years younger, 3 inches taller and still had a garage, I would have one again in a heartbeat! Thanks for watching.
@@moviebod Makes a lot of sense. My dad is 67 and 1'70m and he can happily ride the 750F, but there is also a Hayabusa at home (similar in weight and height to the Blackbird) and he doesn't wanna get near it. He finds it too tall and heavy. So I get you 😉
Hi, i picked a 2003 model last year for my commute to work ete.. I work nights and like you say the lights not the best. Picked some cheep spots from ebay and attached to the fairing excellent!! I have two bikes a yamaha xsr900 and this one and have to say VERY comfortable ride.. Happy riding mate..
That's a good idea about the spotlights. Do you have to remove them at MOT time? You're fortunate to have two great bikes. Mine is awaiting a fuel drain and carb clean after a disastrous winter of lack of use and the need to keep it in the garden for a week while I used the garage for something else. I think it got water in the fuel :( Nevermind, I can do the work myself and have already bought an ultrasound bath and a large jerrycan to remove the fuel from the tank and it was almost spring like here today! Cheers!
Now here is a guy that is not letting advancing years spoil his life, I admire you for that. These are great bikes....I'm rebuilding my second F that I've owned, with a few upgrades to make it interesting.....they are great , very misunderstood machines...my friends call me crazy for spending out on one, but you have to get them under your skin to understand.
Cheers buddy. I just had a look at the work you are doing on your GSX 750F and I recon it will be one of the best by the time you have finished. Keep posting. I am sure you will get lots of followers!
@@moviebod ,thanks buddy....well it should be nice and fresh....I'm going for a dark blue and black paint job similar to Yamaha Thunderace colours.....how are you finding the Blackbird? Or would you swap back given the chance.i liked the M5 too,( retro dream) what are you driving now?
Great. Nice to hear from you. It was a fantastic bike, light enough, fast (sooo fast for a 750) reliable, economical and fun. I am having difficulty bonding with the Blackbird as it is so heavy and a bit too tall, but I am working on the problems. Thanks for subscribing!
@@moviebod I will do my best to post I think I need a better action camera, but I'll see what I can do. And thank you very much, you take care too bud.
Hi Mark, thanks for watching the video. I do still have mine and still think they are excellent machines. I have made a video of my new to me silver bike and it is on my channel. What is yours like? Unfortunately, I have experienced ill health this year, so my bike is still to be recommissioned for the road which I will do so as soon as I am back on my feet, which I hope won't be much longer now. Meanwhile, I hope you decide to subscribe and enjoy some of my other content.
I was a bit surprised by the quality of the lights, but I made the video was some time ago now. It would probably be best to get an HID kit fitted I would think. Factor that into the price as I do have fond memories of what was a magnificent bike and it is proper fast and economical too.
The headlights on quite a few bikes, especially older ones, is pretty diabolical... I can remember one scary night, following a mate back home on his CBR thou F (great lights!), on my (then) ZZR 11 (hamster holding a birthday cake candle would have been preferable!) .... after that, I said, never again! Which leads me to give the following food-for-thought: HEADLIGHTS Have a look at HiD kits .. They've come down in price a lot, in recent years, as they're (i) made in greater numbers, and (ii) not "cutting edge" anymore... Can make a huge difference. OR .. If you don't want to go down that route - You can get a "higher output" standard bulb - Osram and Phillips do an option - there are reviews on the MCN product test pages. (^ I'd say try this first, as it's the most straight-forward option) (same wattage, so they don't melt anything) e.g. www.motorcyclenews.com/product-reviews/parts-accessories/2013/dec1813-osrambulb-/ On a more general note: VISORS - NikWax visorproof - the best thing on the market, imo. Silicon spray, you buff "into" the visor - the idea being, the more you apply it, the more it layers - rain beads, and runs off. The main purpose is centred around rain, but as added bonus, it cleans well ... Cost, typically a fiver. SCREENS? MRA Vario (google: "HPS bike parts", "HPS MRA", or similar). Pricey, but excellent. Sport-touring Tyres - When the time comes - > Michelin road-pilot (3rd generation cheaper than 4th, if you can still find them, not much to split them on grip/longevity) Best in class wet-grip - a good thing, in Blighty! Been using these hoops since c. 2006, and won't use anything else now (for the road, anyway) :-)
I would love to see some of your rides also.On the bike, I use a GoPro Hero and record at 1080p at 25 frames per second. THe camera is on top of my helmet and your body then helps to absorbs the bumps, making the video smoother. You can also record at 720p at a higher frame rate with the GoPro, but I prefer the clarity 1080p gives. The potential drawback with the camera is that the battery is not removable, so when it dies, I guess the camera will be junk but I have had it for two years now and battery life still seems okay. Before I junked it, I would get out the dremel to see if I could change the battery. The off the bike shots are taken with my day to day camera which is a Canon PowerShot SX510 HS, but it is quite an old model now, having been released in 2013. It also records full HD video at 1080p, but at 23 frames per second. I think for the on motorcycle shots I will go for more frames per second with my next action cam, but won't bother with 4K video as it uses too much battery and memory card.
This is one of the videos that inspired me to get a GSXF750. Had it for a year now and its a lovely piece of kit.
Lovely ride mate😊 Happy New Year and a lot of safe miles to you 🎉
