I've been in this same situation. Found a halo warthog (I think it was called) blue in box at a goodwill store. Bought it cheap knowing it was likely junk. Inside was instructions for other sets, no figures, random blocks, and half of the warthog pieces with no instructions. But bonus there was a call of duty mini submarine set in there also, complete with figures and instructions. Never know what you'll get at a thrift shop, but for under $5 it was worth it
Yes mate! I love going round charity shops to get mcx. My best finds are a mostly complete uss kittyhawk and a complte specter! Kitty hawk was only fifteen pounds!
I kinda like that the hog had instructions and a few peices it's kinda interesting too because somehow i think that it might be common to see something like that in a thrift store

This reminds me of the time I purchased a Mega Halo set that included Spartan Kat, Spartan Jorge, and two Elite Flood units. But it was missing the Spartans :(

This happened to me with the the unsc elephant and a pelican both boxes were just full of open bags the figures where still in their but they were all broken :(
so, someone absolutely used this box as a way to store their instruction manuals and other boxes, and then likely tossed some other random bits into the box as well I've done something similar with putting up my set boxes inside other set boxes along with their instruction manuals

Those were my first two ever halo sets when I was a kid. Good memories (Edit) watching this made me want to check out on eBay for some halo sets specifically halo wars ones and I just managed to snag the halo wars hornet when it had 40s left at 50$ and just added a dollar to that just in time to snag it for myself 😂😂😂😂
What sucks is that when I was younger, like when mega bloks introduced super articulated humans, I was at a thrift store, bored as can be, and then this kid digs around a bucket and pulls out a g1 elite, with no price tag. Just wish I had looked in their. No trace of any other mega bloks.
I have two Questions? Around the 3:30 point in the video, you say it is Jarome on the box. 1. How can you tell that's Jarome on the box and not Master Chief. I always "assumed" it was chief. And second who is on the box for the 2009 series.

It's not Jerome (no red markings) or Master Chief (no 117), it's just a regular Spartan II.
