Oh Kate. When you places the vase of flowers on the barely finished shelf I laughed so hard. When my husband and I did remodeling etc in the past, he would no more move the ladder from finishing a wall, and I would come in with a hammer, nail and hang a piece of art! He always just shook his head. Your shelves and lowered table are perfect!
The cabin looks amazing! How far you have come with the cabin in just a few short/long months! I love the flowers, they look like they are felted? Is that so? Eileen sure was watching Ant when he was working on the shelves. I am sure she is loving her new place!😂 Thanks for sharing this lovely piece of heaven in your backyard!!
I really like the shelves and I think your lower table is much better height for you. I am really impressed with how many skills Ants has and how he makes all his jobs seem so easy, but I know they are a lot harder to do than he makes them appear. He does have a very kind and pleasant personality. He does seem to enjoy what he does, and I thoroughly enjoy watching both you and Ant work together. My suggestion about curtains for the cabin...I don't think I would make the curtains very heavy...maybe some type of lightweight or see-through fabric because I think you will still want to be able to see your beautiful view. I think the view is what makes your cabin seem so peaceful.
Your cabin is a delight, along with your wooden quilt wall, new shelves and new table height. Every woman would enjoy a little getaway for herself. I think you have started a new trend. Love everything about it.
@margaretbedwell3211 do they have mosquitoes in UK? I know some places don't have them. I was just curious as the pond right next to the cabin would be a wonderful breeding zone for mosquitoes. Hopefully it would be a mosquito free area.
Gosh. I missed this episode. Only just found it after watching the roof one. How lovely to have shelves. The first thing that went on a new shelf I put up was one of the cats! He couldn't wait to explore it. I bet Ant's right and you end up with loads of things on yours. Thanks for sharing - it's such fun to watch.
Ive just bought a littke 1960s table for my little barn... sat down to watch your new video and could've believe my eyes!! Chose mine as decided melamine top would clean easily... The new shelves are gorgeous... chuckled when you popped that vase immediately down! Xx
I am so happy because everything is coming out so beautifully in this cozy cabin space for you to create your lovely things for the family. I have already chosen my place upon the quilt there on the bed against the wall. All of us will move our things from the Lime Green Couch to the Cozy Cabin to be with you. Blessings, Kate.
You and Anthony have created a Brilliant oasis where there wasn’t one. Working with our hands in nature is truly the greatest work . Calm peaceful surroundings in the country is definitely my cuppa here on the Bay 😊
I ❤ how the cabin is coming along. I also enjoy Eileen so much! I’ve observed her always being attentive to what’s going on when you’re working on the construction of the cabin. She’s a wonderful companion.🤗
Kate, I just love your cabin. Love the log cabin motif on the wall underneath the window. I never noticed that before. About your curtains, what about a valance of yo yos. Use the same colors as the wooden quilt wall. A little softness and subtle color that doesn't hide your view.
I'm so jealous! I have a very small home in the US. So part of my quilting equipment is in my upstairs office, and some is in the basement. I'm trying to talk my husband into getting me a little garden shed and putting everything in one space. We'd have to add heat/cooling as the weather in Michigan is so volatile (90 degrees F one day, and 34F the next!)
Love your cabin, Kate! It reminds me of my childhood's play house and the summer house, my great grandfather built. The smell of wood, the sound of the wind in the trees. Just love it!
I absolutely love your cabin. How fun it will bè to do projects out there. I'm anxious to watch you do the curtains. What a lovely man Ant is. A perfect neighbor and friend to have and to hire to help.
I love your light green bottle on the shelf! You seem to like all of the greenery around you. I can envision very light colored curtains with green vines on them or tiny flowers for your beautiful cabin!
Using a fabric of “Hopsacking” aka “Burlap” for curtains. It’s rustic but I think somewhat charming. I have used the burlap bags that once upon a time used to contain coffee beans. There’s a name of the beans or the storage house that housed the deliciously aromatic burlap bags of coffee beans. I made a 12inch valance with minimal gathers to slightly soften the appearance of the curtain. I wish I had a photo to show you just how charming the valance was. I grew up in a log cabin. When we married we did the entire exterior of our house was done with red cedar planks . It was beautiful!
I've watched you and Ant since the beginning of your cabin journey. Never imagined that the inside would look so comfy and beautiful. It's a true work of art, and it keeps getting better and better.
Log cabin quilt pattern on the wall below the window!! Too dang cute!! A couple of artists involved )))) The cabin doesn't need curtains. There is no traffic of strangers outside the windows, only beauty of nature.
It is so important to have a table at the right height 🙂 I love the light and view from the big window, having that open aspect is delightful. Maybe just one curtain one the window behind your chair for cosyness.
I love how Eileen hangs out with you guys as you work! I think she thinks all of this is just for her. What a treasure you and Ant have made in this sweet cabin. I agree....Ant can do anything and with such a great personality!
Your pond looks like it’s been there for ages already, very natural! I wouldn’t bother with curtains, I like the wide open view. I recognize those sweet flowers you picked up at the North Cape shop! ❤
I saw a house decor with lots crochet coverings pillowd rugs curtains just a thought it is organic keep Rocking 🤙 the good stuff 👍 Beautiful people 🤗🗽🇺🇸🦅 🔥🥵🕊️🥰🐦
I have enjoyed the cabin coming along and now with it becoming "homey" with shelves added. It brought back memories for me. I lost my father fifty years ago but I remember him saying "if you have a level surface you will fill it". When I see the shelf and table I know they will soon be filled.
I love the light that comes in to the cabin from your windows and the view . I have no idea what kind of lighting that you have when you are doing your hand work. Toppers might be something to consider for your windows. I got rid of drapes and long curtains and went to toppers for all my windows because I love the light. Such a lovely “She “ cabin.
Love the piecy walls, kinda quilty! a book, a Mug, needles and knitting needles! I miss sitting in the window and watching the rain storms coming across lake Ontario! I'd be looking for ticking, as it has a lovely rustic feel!
We put up an old crochet tablecloth on windows in my Mom’s shed. Looked great! Tied them back when needed but they let in lots of light as well. Sure is a pretty spot with lovely sounds.
Wow! It is a wonderful thing to have discovered your channel, Kate. (Tks for the suggestion, TH-cam!) The excitement and enthusiasm you brought to us came through clearly. New shelving! Yay! Fitted table to feel comfortable while you work! Yay! Talented and very generous friend and neighbour!!!! Double YAY!!!!! My turn…joy & the sheer wonder at your lovely part of the world? A resounding, “Yes, ma’am!” YABBA DABBA DO from your latest fan in Canada 🇨🇦!!!!! I’m IN!! Cheers, dear Kate!!! ❤ p.s. I will continent myself with your past videos, for now…but must tell you I am so looking forward to seeing your new curtains in your divine she shed. 😊🎉
Hi; I’m sitting watching while pithing cherries 🍒 I know it’s been said no curtains , may I agree ….. the wonderful view and the craftsman ship of the shelves❤
I love this channel, it’s so nice to see the cabin come together.. I also like Ant’s podcasts.. the first one I watched he built a shed for firewood and I had been scratching my head wondering how I could keep the rain off my recycling.. I’d figured the framing part, but had left it for months because I didn’t want corrugated roofing or complicated roof..when I saw how he did that roof, it was such a duh moment for me..there have been other episodes too, it’s fascinating what he does..with you, I’ve picked up more hand sewing..I find EPP very soothing and I wasn’t sure I would.. I feel very lucky that you and your friend Ant have taken the time to make videos your very talented..
Such a lovely space and I'm sure you will make everything wonderful. I became enamored with the felt flowers and plan on looking at a channel that has a beautiful bunch of them. Realistically I have no shelf to put them on, but if I make some, I will find a place. Look forward to the next video!
Oh Kate.. this is so beautiful 😍 I love every bit of your cabin.. Eileen is such a gem .. i miss my life in the countryside as i had to sell up and move for my kids education.. thanks for sharing.. i look forward to every update of yours .. such amazing inspiration 💖 blessings from Johannesburg South Africa 🇿🇦 😊
I love your videos,, I live near Tulsa Oklahoma, USA, you follow your dreams. That is how I try to do. Can’t wait till you have you cabin just the way you want it. I sold my house of 32 years I did so much work on it. And loved it. But I couldn’t keep it up. I couldn’t work that hard anymore. But I bought a tiny house. And have done a lot of work on it. Anyway. Love your videos. ,, Jean
What a place to create such a posh shed in Eileens presence. I wonder if anyone else was prompred to vote for postage stamp curtains like me, but I guess they'd take too long to make. It's a great space which I hope you enjoy for many years. Thanks for sharing the progress with us.
Ants is delightful. The cabin looks cosier all the time. How about a Roman blind in a solid colour? Easy to make and install , and no bulky fabric to deal with.❤
cabin is looking so cozy! I bet supper was relaxing there in the cabin by the pond. Eileen made me giggle, I think she was talking back to Ant when he would start the saw and stop, she seemed to be telling him to quiet down now! ha ha
My husband is an Ant. Love your Formica table. I had one when I was first Married 50 yrs ago After doing a job for me he would say. There you are, you can swing a gorilla on that.😁😃😃
I find your videos to be so pleasant and uplifting. You have a wonderful way about you and how you approach life. Thank you for sharing your lovely personality and happy life. I also enjoyed watching the videos with Ant.
Paddington Bear and Mr Browns Stool spring to mind. ..Good job Ant is on the job. I have a cabin but not the view over the pond which is glorious..cant wait to see it in a years time when it has bedded in nicely. X
Ant’s got the gear and the skills and fits the friendly atmosphere perfectly. Kate, your jumper is beautiful and complements your complexion wonderfully. Nice to see more progress and hear all the sounds. 👏👏👏I’m interested to see how you’ll meet the challenge to keep the open uncluttered feel, as well as all the natural light but then be able to dim it with nap time curtains.
I came across both of your channels whilst looking what craft people do I do sewing clothes and basic curtains I in knit in the winter and at the beginning of the first lock down because I worked in hospitality I was furloughed I was making clothes PJ's and slob around the flat out of duvet covers. my friend from Northampton sent me diamond crystal arts paintings and I'm now heavily into diamond art I now watch you a lot whilst diamond painting I really enjoy both of your channels and I've gone back five years of your TH-cam channels
I love your shelves and the lowered table. Ant does a superb job with anything he tackles. I loved his teasing when you said you would only be putting a few things on the shelves. LOL. Thanks for sharing, and have a Blessed day.
It is so nice to see the cabin coming toget, bit by bit. When we built our house the first thing I did was put silk flower arrangements above the brand new kitchen cabinets. There wasn't anything else in the housenat the time, but I just HAD to make it look 'homely'!
Love the cabin and everything about it! I love the vase of flowers! Those flowers just gave the cabin a very extra charming feel to it! Love that they are handemade of felt? Cheers to a darling little get-away!❤
Oh Kate, everything is so lush and green! A far cry from our early winter bare trees. Loved that you put the vase on the shelf a nano second after it was built!! 😂😂😂 Ant is such an obliging guy and works wonders. Enjoy your gorgeous cabin and looking forward to seeing the green roof. Hugs Meredithe 🇦🇺
Lol! You just had to try a vase of flowers before poor Ant was even finished 😂😂😂 It all looks wonderful, but I do agree with Ant, those shelves will be jam packed before the year is out 💕
Your cabin is really coming along and Ant is a treasure. My curtain idea would be light and flowy white, but really it’s white and cream and low volume white prints all pieced together in a pretty way. A little surprise when you really look at it. I once got a simple white quilt from a vintage sale, and months later, trying to keep my house cool I hung quilts up over the thin curtain. To my surprise this vintage white quilt came alive. It was all pieced together in a repeating star pattern that only showed up when the light came through. That is my inspiration. Imagine all that work for something so easily overlooked, but a special little treat for those who know.
I have my own craft cabin in the garden . I just love my own space and it’s good for the soul . My happy place , so lucky I don’t take it for granted .
Lovely video. Perhaps you ought to consider a "quilt ladder" or a quilt shelf above the cot in the corner for all the quilts you are making for the cabin. Perhaps instead of a curtain which blocks much of the view and your natural light, you might consider just a valance above the windows - perhaps a curtain made of tiny squares in shades of lighter browns and creams. Ant is truly a gem...a true craftsman - you are so fortunate to have him. I have been enjoying his channel also. Thank you for sharing.
It was a bit of a shock to hear Kate mention curtains for the cabin, as glaring sunlight doesn’t appear to be an issue and the window views are so lovely. I think if one were to have a bit of a lie-down, however, it would be nice to be able to draw the curtains to dim the room and afford one a bit of privacy. It will be interesting to see what she decides in the way of window dressing, because so far the cabin is quite unlike the house. I look forward to a pleasant surprise!
Oh Kate. When you places the vase of flowers on the barely finished shelf I laughed so hard. When my husband and I did remodeling etc in the past, he would no more move the ladder from finishing a wall, and I would come in with a hammer, nail and hang a piece of art! Kate, Are your flowers felted?
The cabin looks amazing! How far you have come with the cabin in just a few short/long months! I love the flowers, they look like they are felted? Is that so?

Thanks for sharing this lovely piece of heaven in your backyard!!
Kate, you make ev project so much fun. It’s great to watch you & Ant working/laughing together. You are both great characters! ❤️
“too soon?” LOL
I really like the shelves and I think your lower table is much better height for you. Oh man...if you only knew how much it meant to me that he rounded off the corners of those shelves. It's the little things.
I love Ant!! Everyone needs an Ant in their lives ❤️🧶😊
Absolutely! 😊
"I won't be putting a lot of things up here." Haha, Ant's got your number. When you added a vase before he was done you gave yourself away.
LOLOL
Your cabin is a delight, along with your wooden quilt wall, new shelves and new table height. Every woman would enjoy a little getaway for herself. I think you have started a new trend. Love everything about it.
A wonderful "She Shed" and Kate has the lovely pond she and Ant created. So peaceful and calming.

@@margaretbedwell3211 she doesn't need a 'she shed' she has a 'she house'
I love Eilleen. She just makes me laugh every time she makes an appearance.
How lovely that the birds are singing.
Oh, snap! Ant is not having any of Kate's talk of a "few things on the shelves"! He has your number, girl!
Every woman should have a man like Ant , how perfect to have someone who is so handy
For sure and I agree and wish the same.
Exactly what I was thinking. I need a friend like that in my life, for sure 😊
There would be many men Living on their own....
And many women waiting for an Ant...i geuss...😅 😅
You are so right. My father did alot of this , making shelves, cabinets, tables and whatever he decided to make.
Oh my, how wonderful, calm, and noisy with the beautiful sound of the birds❤
Ants’ face when you told him you wouldn’t be putting a lot of stuff on the shelves was priceless 😂
No curtains , the just make the windows smaller
As long as there is room on the shelf for Cat Rita, that's all that matters.
I had to laugh when Ant laughed when said you wouldn’t put much on the shelves
I just noticed that the wall under the front shelf, there are log cabin blocks! Brilliant!!
You & Ant are a good team 😊
Gosh. I missed this episode. Only just found it after watching the roof one. How lovely to have shelves. The first thing that went on a new shelf I put up was one of the cats! Kate, I am so very happy for you! We all need a little place to dream!
Wonderful to watch your videos repeatedly 😊

Kate how lucky you are to have an Ant. Extremely hard to find this combination of human. Enjoy.
No curtains it’s lovely to just sit there and look out curtains would just block the view!
Maybe a set of valances foe the windows.
One more thing to dust and wash. That view!
I absolutely love your cabin. How fun it will bè to do projects out there. I'm anxious to watch you do the curtains. What a lovely man Ant is. A perfect neighbor and friend to have and to hire to help.
I do love glimpses of Eileen. I wait to see her on every video
Eileen just cracked me up. How you could just see her head through the window and then "site supervising" Ant from the deck.
I love your light green bottle on the shelf! You seem to like all of the greenery around you. I can envision very light colored curtains with green vines on them or tiny flowers for your beautiful cabin!

I wouldn’t bother with curtains, I like the wide open view. I recognize those sweet flowers you picked up at the North Cape shop! ❤
A true craftsman rounds off the corners.... well done Ant!

Ant looks like my grandfather when he was a young man. I loved working on projects with him. He and at least one of brothers were quite handy.
So good seeing you today Kate. I also follow Ants Country Life. What a talented community of folks!
I have enjoyed the cabin coming along and now with it becoming "homey" with shelves added. It brought back memories for me. I lost my father fifty years ago but I remember him saying "if you have a level surface you will fill it". When I see the shelf and table I know they will soon be filled.
What joyful sounds of birds and fun to see Eileen too. Thank you for the garden video
Weren't they beautiful? Music to my ears.
You have a wonderful place to be, and it's making me happy to be some minutes part of it. ❤

What a fun cabin, a bit like the ones my brothers and I would slam together in the back yard from Dads scraps. I do miss those days.
I love this channel, it’s so nice to see the cabin come together.. I also like Ant’s podcasts.. the first one I watched he built a shed for firewood and I had been scratching my head wondering how I could keep the rain off my recycling.. Omg. From my angle, send you will have a little more table room of you make it sane height as the shelves. What a lovely room ❤

I didnt realize before that the wall has a log cabin design! For the shelf, you also need a few books tucked in... wonderful place to read!!
Hi Kate, your pallet wood is a good thickness to place anything on it Ant is so knowledgeable in your lifestyle Kate lucky you 😊
I love your shelves and the lowered table. Ant does a superb job with anything he tackles. I loved his teasing when you said you would only be putting a few things on the shelves. LOL. Thanks for sharing, and have a Blessed day.
Love Ant and the look he gave! Yeah, yeah!!!💖
looking very good, cosy place to craft, perfect x
You put so much love, time and money into a property you rent! I hope the owner appreciates how you are upgrading this wonderful property
I thought this was a farm she has lived on for years, in fact decades as she’s known “Ant”hony since he was a young man.

I LOVE HOW THE CABIN IS PROGRESSING. THE VIDEOS ARE FUN TO WATCH. OH MAYBE GIVE US A LINK TO HIS CHANNEL SO WE CAN GO CHECK IT OUT.
Lol! You just had to try a vase of flowers before poor Ant was even finished 😂😂😂 It all looks wonderful, but I do agree with Ant, those shelves will be jam packed before the year is out 💕
Love the wood patterns you have in your cabin!
I so enjoy seeing your cabin progress. I can so see sitting with a cup of tea and my knitting and maybe a book.
that An is such a treasure! what a fabulous friend!!
Love seeing Eileen, the supervisor!!
I’m happy for you Kate and Eileen!❤️
