There is so much effort in the video that I got tired while watching it. The 17-minute video became 30 minutes because of the constant rewinding. Congratulations. We can wait for you to find inspiration for a long time to see such quality works, no problem 👏
Dude wtffff, dope video and amazing animation at the end. And one thing that motivates is when I see extraordinary art or work, it makes me want to create something that gives me that feeling again. I just wanted to say that. I’m joining Patreon today!! That animation was so sick.
This video is pure gold, i could not explain why it's so valuable to me. You posted this video exactly when i need it thanks. You refreshed my memories, i was too adamant to find motivation or some sort of pressure that will discipline me and help me grow, but what i really need to seek is inspiration which i forgot somewhere along the way.
youre quickly becoming one of my absolute faves on youtube. one of those creators im gonna watch no matter what the videos is actually about just because i enjoy your perspective.
This video is incredible! So creative, so inspiring. Beautiful visuals, so much work!!!! What a gift to be able to create such beautiful content and great reflexions. What an artist!!! ❤
AWESOME. I'm glad you included the pre-dot composite of the Junji Ito head spilt moment (12:04) as I found a lot of these most interesting before they were layered over with the dots and additional stylistic stuff Also somehow hadn't heard of The Marías, jamming to tiny desk now
Thank you Marc! I always like to include the behind the scenes work, even as B roll, because I know I would wanna see that if I was watching as a viewer. Glad you like the Marias now too, just spreading the good word hahaha
This video is truly amazing, and I enjoyed every moment of it. The creativity and effort put into it are evident, and it's clear that a lot of thought went into making it. It's a very impressive and enjoyable experience, and I appreciate the work behind it.
This video popped into my algorithm at the right moment in time. After having one of the most productive years of my life, I’ve suddenly hit this “slump” of de-motivation, and thought I just had to suffer through it until it went away. Thanks for helping me realize that starting a new project that peaks my curiosity and endorses creativity can help me re-evaluate myself and my daily process. I just subscribed! Keep making amazing art like this. You’re making an impact.
No problem Danny! I'm glad the video resonated with you. There is always an ebb and flow with productivity and inspiration, that slump is just a part of it. Glad that this brought some clarity for you to get out of it :)
Your work continues to amaze me, thanks plenty sky❤ I see the lessons you teach in your videos manifest through many experiences I go through as a creative, and I think it's awesome, wish you the best of luck for you goals and ambitions 🎉 Always A Joy Watching❤
INCREDIBLE!!! It amazes me how every video you make feels entirely unique in its art direction yet very much your distinct style at the same time. Keep innovating!
Amazing video as usual dude! Sharing your own experience while working toward a specific piece of art always makes your videos fun to watch. Love the result! Also, great message near the end about being aware of what options you're neglecting to see; definitely guilty of that through my own journey.
Thank you! And yeah, it's always a battle to remember that last message. I will inevitably forget it again and again, as life goes. It's just remembering to remember each time, hopefully faster than the last. Btw, despite following you I didn't realize until just now that you were the one that posted that match cut video. It was one of the thumbnails that was an inspo for my own thumb! The radial split was a brilliant choice
Sky this was phenomenal! So many amazing insights and the way you've told this story is absolutely 🤯 & THE FINAL ANIMATION!!!!!!!! I love it man and dude you're jacked !!!!
Bro how do you keep upping your game every video. its fucking insane. Everytime i think you've made your masterpiece you prove me wrong. Insane stuff!🗣🗣
INSANE!!! SO WELL DONE!!!! Your videos are always so inspirational and relatable I really don't know how you do it! Follow your dreams dude I totally believe in you!!
Wow, speechless. What an INCREDIBLE video, full of personal process, insight, and wonderful outcomes showcasing your amazing talents. You have grown SO much. It is truly moving to watch. :)
SKYYYYYYY!!!!! Hell yeah this was beautiful, and the comment on perfectionism and the topic on topping previous projects, which is something I really needed to hear. I was constantly smiling when I saw the final piece. Mark my words, I will make a video essay on one of your videos, eventually; I just have so much to say that a mere comment won't do. Thanks Sky for putting out inspiration :D
that's very kind of you! What's funny is I almost cut out that little bit about perfectionism. I thought that it might be too much for the video or too much of a stray, but hoped that someone might connect with the insight. So I'm glad I left it in! I appreciate the comment, and looking forward to someday watching that essay
You are great as always. What a video! And an amazing result in the end! Much love from Saint-P. And my god, i love that personal stuff like filming concerts in your videos or something that you don't expect to see! Keep pushing more.
Don't know if you'll see this but this video just brought a wave of clarity to so many questions and phenomenons in my life, I'm speechless right now. Thank you for this video ❤ The Art is INSANE !!
Of course I see this! Thank you for leaving the comment, it means more than you realize. I have had that wave of clarity hit me a handful of times in my life from the most unexpected sources, so I know exactly what you mean. Best of luck to you with whatever your next steps are!
Hi! Great work! I haven't had a chance to watch this video yet because I'm in the middle of something, but I just wanted to let you know that your work is amazing and truly inspires me to tap into my creative side. Keep it up
How are you so good at making videos man, I hope to reach your level one day, but I feel like it's gonna take a lot of time, and I am willing to put it.
Honestly I just used Keylight in After Effects and tweaked a couple minor settings. If you spend more time getting good lighting on set, the keying process is way easier!
Hi brother I am French and I would really like to learn animation and I am even ready to buy the courses you offer but the language barrier is a bit of a barrier for me. Can you try thinking about that? subtitles would be a good start I think and it would surely help a lot of other people who speak other languages. I also visited your site and boy I am 1000% convinced that I will learn great things
Haha great question, people don't ask this one often. My name is Sky and then the "mograph" part relates to motion graphics, which is how I started out as an animator. So it's Skymograph, and the "y" just makes it complete (like a scientific profession, geography as an example)
I wouldn't normally reply to something like this because it misses the point of making a video like this, but there is a valid conversation to be had with this topic. If I made this video without crediting anyone and claiming it was my own original work, I would agree with your sentiment. But inspiration from other artists is foundational to any form of creativity whether you realize it or not. It is inherently a grey area, and ultimately if you still think it's wrong that's up to you. I would recommend watching Gawx's recent video "Anatomy of the Artist Brain" as he speaks with some professionals about this very topic. I think it's worth getting more insight on. For what it's worth, Christoph has seen the video and piece and shared that he was glad to be a source of inspiration for another artist.
Loved the experience of this video, and the journey you took us on! Amazing work.
thank you brotherman 🙏
sky dropped a video ... lets ready some popcorns
Discipline is always better than being motivated.. u do it because it's necessary..
There is so much effort in the video that I got tired while watching it. The 17-minute video became 30 minutes because of the constant rewinding. Congratulations. We can wait for you to find inspiration for a long time to see such quality works, no problem 👏
I mean, Your videos are so unique and beautiful that it just makes me lose my motivation to continue🎆
oh no 😭 that's not my goal! but I'm glad you like the storytelling, best of luck to you

Happy to be that reminder :) it's something I often forget and will inevitably forget again, it's just the natural process of creating!
youre quickly becoming one of my absolute faves on youtube. one of those creators im gonna watch no matter what the videos is actually about just because i enjoy your perspective.
Thank you Gomi! This is exactly what I hope to achieve, a comment like this is amazing to see. Much appreciated!

In due time! I believe in the content, I just need to keep working on posting more until then. :)

can you show us how you keyed that greenscreen?
Honestly I just used Keylight in After Effects and tweaked a couple minor settings. If you spend more time getting good lighting on set, the keying process is way easier!
Hi do u use both premiere pro and After effects or just Ae?
I use After Effects for all my animations and compositing and DaVinci Resolve for editing 🙌
The tomie inspiration made me giggle
had to throw that in there
bro has muscle too

@@Skymography ok cool G so what i should call me 'ragtor' haha - raghav + editor
@@raghavsharma9231 it's got a ring to it, kind of reminds me of raptor

Maybe someday I'll end up living there, it's a beautiful city
Good artists copy, Great Artists Steal.
Love this saying
So you’re copying another artists work and original style? That feels kind of wrong to me tbh.
I wouldn't normally reply to something like this because it misses the point of making a video like this, but there is a valid conversation to be had with this topic. If I made this video without crediting anyone and claiming it was my own original work, I would agree with your sentiment.
