I had the surgical treatment for this PDA condition in 1958 at Emory University, performed by Dr. Osler Alon Abbott. I was able later in life to join the US Navy and serve for my full 4vyear enlistment. I just turned 70 years old last month. I owe my life to this procedure and Dr. Abbott.

How much time have the baby with PDA to be treated?
I got a surgery for PDA when i was premature, long scar on the left side of my chest. I am 26 now and haven't had any major problems, but will there be any issues because of that when i get older? Just curious.

I have the same thing ! but two long scars on my back as they had to re operate due to a pinched nerve and collapsed lungs. I am now 24 and no breathing issues.
