    Hey buddy. Sorry to see such rough grades. I know it all seems like people whining until they send you back a card with a bent corner that you know didnt leave your possession like that.
    I got another PSA order back this week with vintage Star Wars. Got some 4s and 5s on cards I thought were 8s or 9s. Hopefully your series 1s do much much better.

    that cantina card that is a PSA 8 had to have been damaged after grading, most likely during encapsulation. It really sucks when they damage our cards, but they seem to be doing it quite often, especially since they are doing 1 million cards a month

    E-Dub, great watching these Star Wars break and PSA return videos. This video highlighted a few things that bother me about PSA (and grading companies in general). 1) Subjectivity in grading (especially in that 6-8 range). 2) "Do not holder" cards - Recolored? What recourse do you have? Do you have to resubmit for grading and incur the additional fees? 3) Damaged cards by PSA - they still graded that card with the bent corner an 8? PSA should reimburse you for the card and grading fees.

      No doubt Derek… really confusing on that one card. Maybe a little sticker arrow pointing out where the recoiled supposedly is?! That would be nice. You’re correct though 🤨

    I live in Boca Raton Florida and sgc grading office are here I was taken for a small tour and I will tell you the there were many young kids grading these cards some of them could have been the age of my kids lol . I think many people think it’s some 60 year old seasoned veteran doing this work and it’s far from the truth I hope my previous comment reaches you well

      Holy cow…. a bunch of kids?, or even some would be questionable 🤨. I guess I had that loose vision as well… of slightly older and knowledgeable folks doing it. Sheesh.
      …and I’m worried Tony… worried that you might’ve tried to give me contact info somewhere 😳😞. Because if so, I haven’t seen it 😔. I don’t know what the deal is 🤷🏻‍♂️

    Don't worry about PSA max value limits... that's a great call to get("Hey, Mr. Dub, we need a few $ more for all these 10s we gave you")... Recoloring is usually noticeable under blacklight... If you have a video of it coming right out of the pack PSA might blush and 'reconsider' whether it could have been recolored... 2nd series is so tough(though usually it's the white-tipped corners that bring the grades down)... I'm a centering freak and just don't send in stuff that isn't 50/50 as best I can tell... 8s in this series is very good... I think you drew the right conclusions here... 8s you break even, 9s you make a little and that'll offset the 6&7s... thanks again!

    That was tough to watch. I was hoping you’d at least get (5) 10’s and (15) 9’s. As alluded to in another comment, off centering is a big hole to get out of. If slightly off centered, you’re pretty much starting at a 9 and can easily go down from there. It’s even more compounded given the nature of the Series 2 set.
    Also, I would consider the supposedly recolored card a one-off oddity by the grader. I know you didn’t tamper with the card.
    I personally believe your Series 1 return will provide some redemption. I saw some real potential in those that I didn’t see in the Series 2 submission. Keep your chin up. I consider myself having an above average eye for grading, but still get humbled every now and then.

      Love to hear it!! The 76 Series 1 cards have entered into stage 4 of the PSA process. I expect a big slow down though…. major fingers crossed on those bad boys 🤞🏻🤞🏻

      My biggest issue is if you see any 9s or 10s from series 2 they all have the same issues as the cards getting graded 7s and 8s. I have decided not to personally grade any more 77 Star Wars with PSA. Ill buy other peoples slabs and grade my stuff elsewhere. Im taking no for an answer with them

    Kind of a bummer return, but it did pick up a bit after the rough start! Guess you should retire the red Sharpie after this recoloring fiasco!! 😉The 9's in this set are pretty much gems in my opinion. Although, I was hoping to see ONE or TWO gems! I think you definitely were a little more loosey-goosey with what you sent in this far back and have probably gotten stricter since. That Leia in PSA 9 is a nice card!! They definitely used to grade vintage Star Wars stuff a little easier than they do now. Do you have a PSA registry started for your stuff?

      Hahahahha!!! Hilarious Ryan!! My sharpie must’ve been just a shade/tone or two off. I don’t even think I’m going to start using my card trimmer now. What a waste of money! 🤦🏼‍♂️. It did pick up a bit. It’s just fun to have those red ones in some slabs! I can’t wait to get some green and BLUES back!!

    centering is way off on the first 10 cards or so...hopefully it improves with ensuing cards -- FYI -- you seem to be really honing in on the side to side centering, but the top to bottom centering is what is keeping a lot of these cards out of PSA 9 holders...the top border is so much bigger than the left and right borders on so many of these cards

    I never send off centered cards in for grading....they will never grade high enough

      I tend to agree with you. If a card is slightly off center (55/45) and perfect everywhere else, a 9 is typically the ceiling.

    • @e-dubrippinstuff9820
      @e-dubrippinstuff9820  ปีที่แล้ว

      Yah… I’m just trying to get a copy of most of the cards slabbed. I can work on replacing for better ones later… but yah, you’re right.

    Dang man now I’m nervous about my returns and they’re small potatoes compared to yours. That stinks on the damaged corners makes a guy wish he could get a video of them grading your cards to see how they remove them from sleeves, the whole process with an explanation could you imagine?

    • @e-dubrippinstuff9820
      @e-dubrippinstuff9820  ปีที่แล้ว

      Ho ho man! I would probably pay a little extra to get a video like that… showing why things were graded how they were. That could be a major money grab for them if they went that direction.

      @@e-dubrippinstuff9820 agreed. Would slow them down but sure would increase the level of trust and be worth the extra coin for customers to have that option.

    When you submit these old cards you’re going to get some low grades, it’s inevitable. That’s a good number of 8s which is really what you are looking for

    • @e-dubrippinstuff9820
      @e-dubrippinstuff9820  ปีที่แล้ว

      Thanks Chris… thanks for talking me off the ledge 😬. I think I really am good with 8’s. The 7’s though 🤨. It’s all good though!

      @@e-dubrippinstuff9820 I don’t know, I’m getting better but I’ve gotten plenty of 5s and 6S and 7s don’t look so bad in light of that! If you’re going for resale I understand. If you’re going for collection 7s are ok, at least in moderation 😀

      Haha! Well… I have my moments too… but most of the time (not all the time), I can kind of see, if I reeeaally try… why they came to their score. Typically though, at the filming moment, it’s tough to swallow. Thanks for watching though!
