I remember going into my race not even being remotely close to my target KM's and struggling with motivation or that voice in my head up until then. So honestly just want to give you a big hug for the transparency... and you should give yourself a big hug because I don't know how you went pretty much right into training for a 2nd one!! I'd be super proud of that

You’ve been working hard, you’re going to finish the marathon. RUNNA didn’t ask you to come bc you’re the fastest person they’ve ever seen, they asked you to come bc you’re YOU and you run :)

Gal you should try doing some of your runs on a treadmill. I know running on a treadmill is a sin for pro runners but gyms are air conditioned and you don’t even have to think about controlling your pace cos it does it for you!! Might just help you get over this running slump ! ❤️

Hey girl, just a quick note on taking Immodium before or during a long run. Because it is slowing down your gut it can also slow down digestion, hydration and the absorption of electrolytes. Just something to notice and see if it is affecting you in any way 😊
I recommend the SPI belt (not sure if they're available in Australia, I think they should be!). It stretches out to fit a phone and some gels. Bonus is that they have some cute designs. I used one for my marathon last year after training with a vest, definitely helped! Especially since you'll get water/electrolytes on the course. Loved your video and hope this helps!
I ran my first half marathon distance and it was tough the last half mentally and physically but I did it! It’s amazing what our bodies and minds can accomplish!! Saying that, I can’t imagine running a marathon since I barely finished a half marathon. I believe you’ll be fine and do well. You got this! Maybe you should do a running journal-I think that’s helped me. Also positive affirmations might help you during long runs. I honestly give myself pep talks-even out loud. 🤪😂
I’ve tried so many running belts and honestly none are fantastic. The best for me is the flip belt it fits so much, nothing falls out and doesn’t slip around or rub..con is it’s not cute. The lulu belt is so tiny it’s just stupid. Also another con about belts is the gels and snacks get so hot and gross after you are so many miles in. They are much fresher and better tasting when stored in a vest😂
I feel so sorry for you!! You put so much pressure on yourself and you’re so hard on yourself saying things like you’re not good at running etc running is running! If you run you’re a runner!! Pace etc doesn’t matter!!! I think you would benefit so much from therapy and working on your confidence and unpacking your limiting beliefs etc I just want to see you happy and thrive!!! I also when it comes to your actual marathon would you consider not taking water since there will be stations? Saves lugging one around?? Big love xxx

hey conagh! thanks for being so true and honest about it, i went on a run today and as well i had to stop cause it was SO HOT (i live in FNQ so i get the heat as well haha). And yeah i felt bad about it but i had to let that feeling go. Of course im a beginner and not training for a marathon yet, but i feel you and understand you. I know you are with Runna, but have you thought of getting a fitness/runnin/strength and nutrition coach? I find when motivation is hard and your mental game is not there, having someone in your corner that keeps you accountable its SO BENEFICIAL and VALUABLE. Its also a great push cause deep down you want to make that person proud, so youre more likely to do the thing, you know what i mean? Im not a coach but i had one and honestly it changed my life in the sense of creating consistent habits, sticking to the plan and push on the days when i feel like not doing it. Def look into it!! Love your content girl ❤
