    I met Robert Wall few years ago, I asked him how fast was the punches, he said Bruce slowed the punches down so they can be seen. Also he said all you feel and hear is wind plus the kick Bruce gave him left a bruise for 3 weeks, he had thick padding under his shirt. It still was penetrated by Bruce’s kick.

    The old Asian guy was "Han", the bad guy in the movie. He was running a drug operation and used a karate tournament to recruit fighters for his organization. But Bruce was undercover and went to the tournament in order to find out about the drug operation. It just so happens that the guy with the beard had attacked Bruce's sister 3 years earlier, causing her to kill herself, so Bruce wanted revenge on that guy. Beard guy was also at the tournament and he and Bruce happened to get matched up to fight. It turned deadly when beard dude tried to kill Bruce with the shattered bottles.

    He's so fast in part because the art he created, Jeet Kune Do, translates to, the way of the intercepting fist. You intercept your opponent before they can even get to you. Also because he trained his body so diligently. He was a beast when it came to training.

    You're right, never ever make a mistake of playing with Bruce and on real time incident happened in the same set before this action scene shoot that one of the stunt man wanted to surprise Bruce as always everyone wanted to know how quick and fast Bruce is, and from side of Bruce he just reached near him for an attack and guess what Bruce did spinning back kick but at the end movement he just stopped his kick and understood that this person is not here to hurt him. so he said that "Is this some kind of joke". that day most of stunt mans understood that Bruce lee is an real deal someone with so much speed,reaction time,power.agility and what not should be left alone to do their job never play with Bruce.

    You have the funniest reactions, lol! Instant 👍 and subscribe :).
    I have seen Enter the Dragon too many times to count over the years. Some random factoids for this scene:
    Bob Wall also worked with Bruce Lee on his previous film, Return of the Dragon(also known as Way of the Dragon). He then played a character in Game of Death, which was completed after Lee's death.
    The backwards flip kick we all love was actually done by a stunt double named Yuen Wah.
    The bottles Bob Wall breaks in this scene are real. He accidentally injured Bruce on a previous take. Bruce instructed him to go at him as fast as he could. Bob lunged, Bruce went to spin into a kick and jabbed his hand into the bottle.
    Because of this, there was a rumor Bruce was going to kill Bob going around on set. Obviously didn't happen, and Bob knew it wasn't true anyway.
    (Bob told this story in at least one documentary, "Curse of the Dragon", narrated by George Takei)
    Bruce Lee's character's sister(the woman shown briefly in a flashback stabbing herself) was played by Angela Mao. She kicked much ass on film back in the day😎.
    Have you seen Battle Royale? It has nothing to do with Bruce Lee, it's just one of my favorite movies. If you haven't seen it, I think it would make for a great reaction video!

    • @yellowberrio
      @yellowberrio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Aww thank you! Haha, thanks for sharing all those fun facts with me 😃 A few of them, some other commenters have mentioned before as well! Bruce Lee rumored to kill Bob? Whaaaa. I just looked up the name Angela Mao, Wiki stated that she's "positioned as the female version of Bruce Lee" 😮 oh wow!

    • @Texy88
      @Texy88 ปีที่แล้ว

      I initially thought that the flip-kick in this scene was also Yuen Wah as he was the usual choice of double for Bruce due to the similar body shapes, but someone I once knew who was a big fan of another member of the Yuen clan that permeated Hong Kong cinema at this time managed to show that that particular flip-kick was actually done by Yuen Biao.
      The bottles that Bob Wall (who sadly died in 2022) uses in this scene were real glass bottles, not the sugar-glass that Hollywood would typically use. This was a Hong Kong-funded production, and the much lower budgets used by Hong Kong studios meant that even for _Enter the Dragon_ they just could not afford sugar-glass replica bottles. Even Bruce got cut by the bottles during the shooting of this scene.

    Another fun fact: Veteran actor actor Shih Kien who portrayed the evil Han spoke almost no English, his voice was overdubbed by the legendary Keye Luke.who was the first Chinese-American contract player signed by RkO Pictures,and Metro Goldwyn Mayer and was one of the most prominent Asian actors of American cinema in the mid-20th century(Wikipedia). Among his many roles, Luke portrayed the character Kato in the original Green Hornet 1930's/40's movie serials, a role Bruce Lee would one day play on American TV. He also famously portrayed Master Po in the 1970's TV series Kung Fu.

When Bruce walks over to the Radio Control Room door, he takes a snake out of his bag, slaps the snake on the head, opens the door and puts the snake inside. Once the two men in the Radio Control Room notice the snake, they make a run for it. Bruce Lee goes into the Radio Control Room, and sends a message to a man named Braithwaite. @@yellowberrio There's also something that happened to Bruce Lee in real life as well. On May 10th 1973, at Golden Harvest Studios, Bruce Lee, was about to dub Enter The Dragon, but, he began to feel unwell, so he went to the men's room, but because of Hong Kong's heat and humidity, Bruce Lee fainted. He was rushed to hospital, and when he arrived, the doctors ran some tests and, found out that he suffered Cerebral Edema, which is known as swelling of the brain. He was given a drug, that shrinks the brain back normal size. Shortly after that, he returned to filming Enter The Dragon, but he was still ill. Bruce Lee spent the final 2 months of his life having headaches. On the night of July 20th 1973, Bruce Lee went to the apartment of Taiwanese actress Betty Ting Pei, to discuss the script for his next movie, Game Of Death. Bruce began to have another headache, so Betty gave Bruce a painkiller called Equagesic, Bruce went to lay down to sleep. Betty would later go in and check on Bruce but, he wouldn't wake up so Betty got in touch with Raymond Chow, the founder of Golden Harvest Studios. Raymond arrived to Betty's apartment, tried to wake Bruce up but Bruce was unresponsive. Raymond phone a Physician named Dr Eugene Chu when Dr. Chu arrived, he checked Bruce Lee's pulse but there was no pulse. He checked Bruce's pupils and saw that his pupils were dialated so Eugene phoned for an Ambulance, the Ambulance arrived to take Bruce to Hong Kong's Queen Elizabeth Hospital but it was too late. Bruce Lee was pronounced dead.

    It’s a form of sparring I think develop by Bruce(if I’m wrong feel free to correct me, anyone), it was from Wing Chun Chi Sau, aka Wing Chun “sticky hands”.
    Instead of using two hands, Bruce used only one hand to start with.
    Sticky hands is a way to train your awareness of your arm(s), which means once your opponent’s arms make contact with yours, you know how to intercept, trap your opponent’s ability to attack you.
    In this practice(or sparring/competition), you try to prevent your opponent from hitting/touching your head and body by “sticking” your wrist area to your opponent’s wrist area, if your opponent manage to “unstick” from your hand, like what Bruce did to Bob in this clip, you get hit or lose point.
    P.S.
    Bob Wall broke a board before his match with Bruce Lee is what Bruce Lee tried to show people that people always thinking breaking boards, bricks or any object is an indication that the person is a good fighter, but it only point out the person can break hard object, doesn’t mean he is able to fight. That’s why Bruce said that famous line:
    “Boards don’t hit back.”

    • @yellowberrio
      @yellowberrio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      "Sticky hands" huh? That's an interesting way of training. "Intercepting" before they can land a hit. Haha yeah, being able to break a board really doesn't mean much, in real life being able to hit a board ain't gonna help you much 😆

    • @YenAmiracle
      @YenAmiracle 3 ปีที่แล้ว

      @@yellowberrio well, it is interesting.
      As for most of MMA or boxing participants/enthusiasts, they despise sticky hands training, because nowadays people do snapping strikes like A LOT, most of beginners won’t be able to adapt the technique and use it properly in real fights. If you don’t have
      1)solid foundation of sticky hands skill
      2)and enough live experience of the techniques, then yes, sticky hands is not practical in real fights(actually it goes with any technique🤷🏻‍♂️)
      Yeah, being able to break a board doesn’t gonna help much in real fight, but it is a demonstration nevertheless, people don’t do martial arts or have experience of fighting still gonna buy it everyday😆
      Thanks for reading and replying👍🏻

    • @yellowberrio
      @yellowberrio  3 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      @@YenAmiracle Haha, thank you for sharing! Well yeah, if sticky hands is like a whole different way of approaching combat, it would no doubt be difficult for people who's been training with a different set of foundations to pick it up. They might have to re-route their style quite a bit in order to try to incorporate a new technique.

    The full film is worth watching, to understand the context of the fights. The story makes it quite a dark film though. The guy on the throne owns the island, and hosts martial arts tournaments. The reason it looks one-sided is that Bruce fires a punch before his opponent can react to it. Knocking someone down scores a point. First to score three points wins.

    What i liked about this was you could see the remorse on his face when he had to kill i dont think we see that enough in these kinds of movies he also showed it in Way of the Dragon or Return of the Dragon depending on where you are from when he fights Chuck Norris at the end of that one he shows remorse and a display of respect for a fellow human being

    • @yellowberrio
      @yellowberrio  4 หลายเดือนก่อน +1

      Right, that he felt bad for having to do it but he had to do what he had to do. He wishes things didn’t have to end that way and the fact that he shows remorse proves that he’s not a monster, he’s not killing for the thrill or something.

    In this movie Enter the Dragon, Robert Wall's character, O'Hara, was chasing down Bruce's sister to take advantage of her (r@pe), but she found a big piece of glass to stab herself dead to avoid the shameful experience (that was the stabbing scene).
    Bruce knew O'Hara was responsible, & just happened to run into him at the tournament, which was the perfect opportunity for Lee to get revenge for his sister's death.
    This is a classic (well it was even when I was a kid watching it just 15 years later in the 80s), so you'll want to see the whole movie.
    You are elegantly beautiful, by the way, I hope you've found the right guy.

      Not slow down the film, but speed-it-up, (think about it), the faster the film is moving (during recording), the more frames-per-second are being recorded thus bruce's movements would seem slower during play-back, but i don't believe that because that wouldn't account for the other actors movements of whom weren't as physically-fast as bruce. Not saying that bruce wasn't great, i just think that it's a rumor that someone heard and ran with. I love bruce, i think that he was the best.

    • @yellowberrio
