    This is so helpful! Thank you. Not to mention not having to pay for labor. I need to save all the money I can during this pandemic! Good job!

    Very good. I did the job in 10 minutes after following your video. Only thing I did different: I did not remove the connecter from the disc-like plastic piece in the middle (the one held on with the Phillips screw) since the plastic disc had to go on to the new fixture. Thank you very much. Saved me a lot of time speculating!!

    Another deeply grateful viewer, thank you sir. I had to pry out the center LED cluster with the knife blade of my Leatherman tool (it was really stuck in there). Saved me $165 in labor at my dealership (for a 20 minute job).

    Very helpful video. I drained the water from my right tail light a few years ago. The left tail light cover just cracked and fell off at the car wash. I'm going to replace both tail lights. Thanks for the vid.

      Good question. Not sure which seal broke. The new light that was used has been water-free for 2+ years. I'm assuming the seal on the original wore out.

      Although it's a different year, it appears to be the same problem.

    Hello! This was so helpful! Do you know what the purple cap was on your the original lamp assembly? Our new lamp is fogging up after like 3 hours, and I think it might have something to do with the fact that we never had one of those cap cover thingies. Not sure what to call it though.

    • @alexaevans1387
      @alexaevans1387 2 ปีที่แล้ว +1

      Glad it was helpful. There's a metal screw like appendage on the bottom right or bottom left (depends on which light you're replacing). This helps secure the outside light to the frame of the car. I believe that the purple plastic piece may prevent chafing between the frame and the lamp assembly. It might also act as a seal.
      Unfortunately, I still haven't figured out what that piece is. This purple piece was attached to the original lamp and we transferred it over to the replacement. This leads me to think that it may not act as a seal since our original lamp was water-logged. Sorry I couldn't help much.
      Your new lamp assembly may be defective. I would check to see that entire unit is sealed.

    • @alexaevans1387

      The leak is coming from the inside, so it likely would fill up again after draining.

    You seem to pull yours off with no pressure whatsoever, I cannot get mine to come out. It sounds like it's breaking if I pull hard enough. The two screws came out easy

      Hmm. Can you slide any piece of plastic between the housing and the vehicle? That may loosen it up.
