  • Welcome to another Patreon Design soap challenge. This months suggestion came from Meggan and she wanted to see me make a soap using Lemon Myrtle leaves, a lemon myrtle scent and a bright yellow.
    As my mum has a Lemon myrtle, I decided to make a hydrosol to use in the soap and dried some leaves to use as an exfoliant
    I got my Copper still from Alembics NZ: www.alembics.co.nz/
    Thank you for watching!

    It is so amazing that hydrosol is produced directly from natural materials! To think that such carefully refined raw materials are used to make soap... I admire you so much! anyway! The distiller(?) is so beautiful!

    I think you are correct! Every time I ever put any kind of plant material, whether fresh or dried, it turns brown. Doesn't hurt the soap any, it is totally visual. That has been my experience with plant matter. It turned out beautiful.

      Thank you ❤ I suspect it's the high PH levels that discolour botanicals. These leaves will still be a lovely exfoliant.

    Also what temperature do you use to dehydrate the leaves and how long does it take thanks

    • @SoyandShea
      @SoyandShea  11 หลายเดือนก่อน

      It really depends on your dehydrator. I set mine to the herbs setting and let it go for about 10 hours

    Hey Keeley, do you still do farmers markets?

    • @SoyandShea

      No I don't do any markets now. I'm open 5 days a week, including weekends, so there no time for it.
