This is a behind the scenes look at the Grey Skies music video.
This video all started because I had the crazy idea that I wanted to jump into Low Force. I also really liked the idea of a card game, but one that I was playing with mimes. The video shows that everything in life is constantly moving and changing, just like a game. The cards represent everything we go through and need in life: money, love, success, loss, happiness, failure etc. The mimes are life's emotions at play, happiness, sadness and the unknown.
I’m forever grateful to Middlesbrough Town Hall for letting us use the main room as the set. The history of the place and layout really set us up for some amazing shots. In one day we managed to capture all of the card game and then headed over to Low Force in the North Pennines in the afternoon. I get a little bit crazy with my ideas sometimes and honestly I’m not sure how they even end up in my head but I’m fortunate they do as it allows me to never run out of creativity.
We checked around the location for safety and sought out a good spot to film the jump scene. The water was absolutely freezing but this was an integral shot for me as it represents ‘taking a leap towards the unknown’, which is something I'm constantly doing being an artist and trying to make this my full time career.
