What I like about the jackhammer is that it's actually pretty balanced. It does crazy damage but has a really steep learning curve and messes with shotgun swapping, so using it already has some drawbacks. But once you get used to its mechanics it's just the coolest weapon ever

For me the best part of the jackhammer is that when it fires, everything stops for a moment, and then your enemy just explodes. The sheer satisfaction of that made me fall in love with the construction equipment
just a quick tip for avoiding damage from overpump: the hit actually has a really long range, and there's this sweet spot where you'll still land the 3 charge hit, but won't get damaged by the explosion. i don't know how to properly explain, but you can try it yourself

Its whole concept is big damage and close quarter combat like ye old boomstick, but its versatility as a combo or movment tool is similarly complex to match its design. The weapon is mental like at first I thought it wasn't good but the second I got the "Timestop" effect upon impact I immediately connected with the weapon, so I had both the blue and green varients of the shotgun with the sawed-on jackhammer but then soon I realized I wasn't using the weapon for the saw but rather for the jackhammer effect. I don't know yet about sawed-on since it takes a lot of concentration to keep on parrying while the screen is full of visual effects+ you have to semi calculate the trajectory of the saw based on if there were walls or not. The parry mechanic is one of the most important weapons in the players arsenal so like if the player keeps wasting it on the saw it may cause him to miss an easy parry due to feedbacker being on cooldown.
i love it so much i cant stop using it its truly the dopamine generator of 2024 but ever since i started playing ultrakill, shotgun swapping and pro-boosting were always the tools I'd use the most in my arsenal, i keep trying to use it like a shotgun lol
i like this weapon but only when using the pump and sawed-on varients. the core eject is just not possible when moving in high speeds right now, Maybe they should make so the core eject can be immediatley hit with the jackhammer or have similar trajectory as the coin but not going vertically up. This is mostly coming from a CYBERGRIND and violence/brutal perspective where its chaotic, even in the main levels its too punishing to stay still for a few miliseconds.
you actually dont even need to do the whip cancel for max damage, you can do a dash jump and you immediately get to top speed. really useful for taking out annoying sentries/maurices that are at mid range

The damage it does pays off so well compared to shotgun swapping. Using all three allows you to rapidly make 3 max power hits by whiplash cancelling.
Well you still can shotgun swap, just takes a lot more button pressing to do.
