Bhangra originated in the Punjab and was commonly done in celebration of the sowing season, as well as the harvest festivals and marriages. Since the Punjab was primarily agrarian, the dance was done by all Punjabis. This includes Hindu, Muslim, Christian Punjabis. And it's still done on both sides of partitioned Punjab.
You must be hard of hearing. At 1:35, they mixed your bhangra with hip hop because hip hop influences everyone and basically runs the music world (even your people's music, apparently). I believe you were just proud to see Indian ppl instead of Black.

It's an awkward scene. I don't understand how it relates. I'm Punjabi Indian too. The dance and songs were generic, even though Bhangra Empire is very good. Normally Indian music is the best, and Punjabi music is very tonal and upbeat.

It's an awkward scene. I don't understand how it relates. I'm Punjabi Indian too. The dance and songs were generic, even though Bhangra Empire is very good. Normally Indian music is the best, and Punjabi music is very tonal and upbeat.
