An updated overview of a Dell Latitude E6410. This laptop is circa 2010 and has pretty basic specs compared to today's standards, but can still run windows and accomplish basic tasks.
@@Josephamanyi I know this comment is old, but as far as graphic design in the 2020s there’s far better options now (even as of 3 years ago). One of the biggest limitations of this laptop in that realm is it’s screen color and resolution. both are not great, perfectly fine for most day to day things but anything where visual clarity isn’t needed you’ll want a newer machine or a second monitor with higher resolution.
I have E6410 with i7 720QM quad core and 90 watt power supply. Everything works perfect with zero problems. My i7 is turbo boosting to 2.9 ghz on 1 core and works at 933 mhz on idle :) I have video with it. Cheers!
To anyone interested in trying to get windows 10 pro 32 or 64 bit running on these machines to make it a short as sweet as possible don’t waste your time unless you have a whole lot of patience and perseverance. I just picked up one of these machines several weeks ago and it was a nightmare to get windows 10 pro running. I had to reload the OS twice because running windows 10 pro in UEFA with a GBT partition will cause the machine not to shut down when you press the shut down button and windows. There is a glitch. After a lot of trial and error I figured that I would head to the Dell community forums and lo and behold found the answer. You need to create a USB installer with an MBR partition and set the boot type to legacy. Now my 6410 shuts down completely when I press shut down it within windows. Running windows 10 pro 64-bit 20 H2 fully patched. Also, if your E 6410 came with the fingerprint reader, don’t even bother! Trying to get that to work because I have not found a way after visiting the forums and Microsoft and Dell will flip the bird if you try to get help from them.
I think it is because it requires so much resources! Windows 8.1 is the system that fits the best for this laptop. I upgraded to windows 10 and it didn't work the same!
E6410 is technically not able to run Windows 10, but is able to run a Customized version of Windows 10 like Windows 10 pro. Since my E6410 is able to run Win10 Pro without any lag, depends on your SSD, the processor and the integrated graphics card.
If you were to buy one of these used whether or not you get one with a keyboard backlight will depend on whether or not the machine was configured with one from the factory. These machines came with two types of keyboards one that had the backlight and one that did not. Of course getting a backlit keyboard raise the overall purchase price of the machine back in 2010 when these things were being built.

OMG I had one of these. It was quite literally the laptop that got me my start into being a professional designer. Such a good little workhorse!

I would not upgrade it to windows 10 I would do a clean install and delete everything then do windows install

Yes, but it will have minor lag, wouldn't recommend buying one for modern games though.
it will lag, significantly, but with a good SSD and a good graphics card, you will not notice any lag.
