    I believe the hole in the handle might be a witness hole to "show off" the traditional Spydie hole, as the hole in the blade is not visible when closed. Witness holes were often placed in houses built of straw walls (insulated), in order to prove the walls are actually made of straw.
    I agree that the essence of a knife blade is to cut (sharpness) and if a knife comes from the factory dull, then maybe the edge is not optimal for edge holding. Or worse, the design is faulty...send it back and if it happens again...look for a different knife manufacturer. Great video!

      Thanks for watching mate. That is very interesting thanks for clarifying that for me, makes perfect sense. As for blades not taking a good edge I have found that to be true about Chinese D2. I think I am going to send that lil native back and have them fix the edge. Removed that flipper tab and I’ll post the vid soon. Thanks again for watching I appreciate you more than you know.
