Runs & looks fantastic, I've got the first Rival & it made me mad when I snapped a suspension arm & it took me about 2 months to get one back in the day. Sweet rig & run 🎬💯💪👊
@@ReadySetRC The first Rival M.T 10 is a cool rig & a blast to run. But bro it's nothing compared to that. I had to buy another because of a cheap lipo exploded & burnt my first to the ground. Got it for a killer price $ 275 before all of this craziness when't down. Does that M.T 8 run better then the new Redcat kaiju ext ??
@Matthew Hayslett I like my M.T 10 , so much I bought the truck twice & I only broke 1# suspension arm. The only problem was part availability at first. I couldn't tell ya how it stacks up to the M.T 8 ! Because I due not have the truck to compare the two
I'm loving this truck. That being said, I broke an a arm, both turnbuckles and a shock cap within the first five minutes of my first run and it was only 4S. Not sure I'll run this on 6S until I figure things out.
@@ReadySetRC Yep, and I didn't know about the kaiju a arms fitting so I sadly ordered more mt8 a arms. Did order tekno turnbuckles at least, that metal in the stock turnbuckles is extremely weak. Wishing I'd spent a little more and gotten a fireteam and a mt10 instead at this point. When the mt8 is running it's a beast, but that hasn't been often for me so far. No flex in those stock a arms. This wasn't extreme bashing, I jumped it maybe 10 feet off of a dirt pile and landed it clean.
@@thejeepinrealtor5742 did you find out which fit? I just got the truck. Haven’t ran it yet but will soon. I did install a turbo fan on the motor from nitro rc, and I vented the tires, IC5 connector on esc. I’m going to add 300k diff oil to the center then run it!
Was going to get the MT10 because it’s one of the few “modern” R/Cs I actually like the look of. This one comes stock with the aluminum shocks and universal driveshafts. I don’t want to spend $340 on the MT10 and then another $200 for A/E shocks and driveshafts.
@Golden Manuever For me I like the bigger trucks. So true this comes with all the goodies but since it is new the kinks are still being worked out. But I still feel it's one of the best bang for the buck.
@PhilthyCo RC Yeah Philthy if you were even thinking about the OG Kaiju, just get this. I know the EXT is more of e truggy but it may just want you to get rid of that too. It gave me something to think about.
@@ReadySetRC Yea?? I just like how light the EXT is for it's size..I'd keep it and get this or O.G Kaiju..O.g kaiju cuz it's like the Helion Avenge big brother and I could grab one for $400 shipped..I gtta wait until my truck sells to buy anything new so i got time to think on it lol..Plus I got a bunch of rigs I haven't even drove yet still lol
@Jason Perrin RC So the Mojave is the truck you were talking about. NICE! I actually ran mine in that bash video with Everyday RC but I did not have the camera on at the time. Chris may have caught some running of the truck in his.
@@ReadySetRC O, no. I was referring to the SX6. I didn't know you had a mojave. I had a rtr one about a year ago. But I've always wanted to build an EXB one. SCX6 is something I want too.
@@JasonPerrinRCVlogs Dude that SCX6 is amazing. I've taken it out at least 3 times, only one video has been edited but everytime I'm about to release it a preorder shows up😆 Hell with it, I'm dropping the first run this week!
Great stuff as usual! To me, the outer diff fluid weights sound OK. It probably just needs 200k in the middle one. So this is like a V2 Kaiju with better handling. Hehe. 👍
On the OG kaiju, what would be the good spot on the pinion? I have a 11t on it right now. And my motor get up to 140 to 160 degrees with in a ten minute run. Do I gear up or down? M not sure.... need help please...
@Winston Oso On the OG Kaiju, I run the stock gearing on 4S with a fan and no issues with heat. I probably could gear up but to be honest it doesn't need it. Air control could be a little more responsive which is why I say gear up but it pops wheelies with ease on 4S and the stock gearing.
@Joseph Fogus I broke the steering rack on the second run. On a bad cartwheel. I put the Kaiju metal one in it but you need to Dremel it out to fit. there is a slight bend in the stock one that needs to get around the servo saver. Remove some material but not enough to weaken it though. I haven't ran it since installing but moved on the bench and it looked good. Mock up the old one to know how much material to move. If you follow me on IG, I'll try to post a pic up of it. It may not show as good on the pic since it is already installed but I'll try.
@@therchotspot Really?! It did not knock up on the servo saver column? I saw the originals geometry was different from the aluminum one so I made the adjustment. I guess there is a little play to avoid the column.
The motor is shockingly hot on all the Hobby Wing equipped AE models available today clear down to the 14th scale Reflex. Not just this one. Fans? pft. Those reduce margin. Diff fluids? Put 2 drops in. The customer can deal with that when the front tires are gone. Wheel hex cap removal tool? Nah. Those are 10 cents in quantity. Who takes the wheels off these things any way? AE is just a cash grab shell of it's former self resting on it's 30yr old laurels. I'll never buy another one after this POS.
@monosurge The problem is how much R&D actually went into this vs how much was just a hold over from the other RC's based on this truck. Other than their crawler products AE has been keeping status quo over the last 3 years.
@@ReadySetRC huh? Context? Your reply has me confused on your position. AE is Thunder Tiger. Since 2004 or 6 if I recall correctly. These are all thunder tiger OEMs tweaked and rebadged. Even the crawlers. They’ll even sell you the models under their branding direct. The MT8 and the first gen Kaiju have interchangeable parts. These are all cash grabs using former glory of a name. It’s been a margin play every since. They only use a heavy hand when setting up the race buggies because posting pictures of guys with trophies on their web site has always been AE marketing. People associate winning with excellence. But factory team aside, these models are not befitting of the name we knew. I had my mt8 out for the 4th time tonight. And for the fourth time, it broke. Every time it breaks, I use a redcat kaiju alloy part to replace it because they don’t even have FT or RPM parts for this model. Embarrassingly, the kaiju parts don’t break again. A model with a 1 year warranty and selling for 150 less. That’s embarrassing. Bolting redcat parts onto an AE product to make it better. And I”m not alone. There’s no excuse for that. So far it’s been the lower arms, hubs, steering rack, and now the turnbuckles. It’s not status quo. It’s junk. And people are accepting it.
@@monosurge My point was I'm not sure how much research and development was really done by AE on the MT8 since there are considerable amount of parts that carry over from the Kaiju models. Specifically front and rear clips. As for the crawler comment I'm speaking of the Element RC crawlers which were not hold over from TT but actually new products under the AE umbrella. Even though the base of the first Sendero was an improved version of the SCX10 II (I truly love this truck). Long story short I agree😊
