Yes girl I feel you ! I just did mine and used bigger sections and it still came out cute and if u wanna save more time u can always just braid or twist half down on some or most or all and let the girls shine and it saves time too

I wonder how the style would look by just braiding the hair down an inch or two and just letting the rest hang for that "boho" look

You can try that! I think it will be more shrinkage though

U said it took 2 hours meanwhile I almost didn’t do it bc someone else said 6 hours😭😭
Depends on how fast your braid, length and density of your hair.
