Thoughts on this new handling update? Compared to the previous drift tune this one is way better out of the box in my opinion! There's a lot of techniques to drift in GTA Online but I just wanted to try the most basic to see the difference compared to the old one! :D

What a terrible representation of drifting. It reminds me of NFS Underground 1/2 and back in early 2000's it was cool, but this is lame.
Yeah GTA 5 hasn't had the best drifting, but this is still miles better than the previous version. I'm also quite bad at it, there's some really good drifters in Online!
Tip if you want to fully customize your RX7 however you imagine. You can *buy the auto shop near the fancy shoe store. The down side is you have to steal a highly guarded car to setup the auto shop. But it’s worth it cause then you can get all car customizations unlocked in there, No matter your level.

@@orynx2835 buy an auto shop, set it up, drive your car you want to customize in and bam

@@orynx2835 If you want to buy an auto shop you can do the setup mission, when it’s completed the cut scenes you call in your car and drive it in the auto shop. This is also the Tuners DLC Shop so be careful and make sure you didn’t accidentally buy the new one.
If you can’t figure out how to customize the car it will appear in the left hand corner of which key or button to press.
Totally these drift races are like the ones from the modern need for speed games, like Payback And Heat with the scoring and the multiplier, that’s totally a great thing they added for the DLC.
Nfs payback and heat drifting takes no skill tho I hope they make drifting a real thing you gotta practice to get good at
And the drifting races are completely different
@clippedbysofixh why does it take no skill? In payback drifting was much better than in heat and the leaderboards on autolog I think it's called, added like a competition feel to it. In nfs unbound drifting isn't great tbf, you could just spin out by touching the curb with your front tire, and the drifting activities in freeroam are so trash because of that "meters in drift" system. I remember fully running dodge charger so could just go from side to side, creating tire smoke which ment I was basically drifting and earning those meters in drift earning 3 stars and beating a rival from one attempt.

I don't understand how this hasn't been a feature since the start... I love the drifting so much even though the drift mechanic is a little strange 😂

Imma be real here. This doesn't look all that impressive after like a decade. Especially when there's so many drifting alternatives out there. Biggest example is CarX drift racing online. Come on now. 🙎🏽
Yeah well those games are pure racing games, this was also my first time trying this haha. Check out StevieWunderKid’s latest videos, that would show what you can achieve now :)

Most of that was just me voicing my frustration towards Rockstar for fumbling this shit for so long.
It certainly does look better, but it also seems extremely underwhelming and wonky, especially in the technical sections.
It just looks like they Frankenstein the absolute hell out of the physics and forcing it to do something it never was designed to do.
Not really that realistic. Needs to be able to drive normally & when YOU want the back end to kick out is when the car should drift. Right now it drifts as soon as you press gas.
This new drift handling feels more like the handling editor mod that is used by fivem drift servers. I think they might have used the handling mod as a reference for this new feature hopefully in the future they make it so that all cars can have the drift tuning

they removed all perfomance upgrades because it would make things unstable and glitchy, Rockstar is learning.
You should try making a video doing the new stealing car missions, they are acctually really good

Tbh if you put the slick tires on the Camaro an the schafter v12 those two cars are the best for drifting lol before the update that is
i literally open my handling editor [very very very very simple mod] and i can drift better than i can in forza, rockstar is scaring me, they better do better in gta6

Idk if u know this , but if you own the auto shop , you can uograde the car with anything even if you haven’t reached that level yet ! It’s really nice

I truly enjoy where rockstar is going with the car updates. But the drifitng mechanic though, even with the update its still kinda weird and clunky but i guess its something to get used to 😅
Its still unrealistic. Using both the brake and drift phyisics to rotate the car and the normal physics of the game. GTA can do better
plying gta online got it a while ago but got into troubvle and now im playing online just started killed a guy from punching his car and killed to medics.. yeah
It is the samew handling from way back on MTA, of course fivem server also have this tipe of drift

Now with this tuning we can properly drift...As long as you don't mind converting your RWD cars to AWD because that's also what this does.
Thats what old nfs game was like.So it is good.No realistic simulation driver gonna play gta for realism anyway.

Tip. Don’t fish tail the whole time lmao try to hold them, with smooth transitions if you have to do it
Hazardous you should play CarX
the 5x doesn't apply until u spin out or stop, it doesn't matter if u do one continuous drift as long as every drift u get a 5x. Therefor its in ur best interest to stop every time u get a 5x and simply get a new one instead of risking 90% of ur points.

It's only on online mode and all of the dlc is free

Hazard, u have to change back to standard or bulletproof tires to get the normal new drift physics, right now you had the new tuning with the old drift tires, thats a bug i noticed
