That is how cat power works. Not sure how old you are but back in the 90s when it was possible to see her live in a small venue, that was definitely the experience that almost everyone had. A lot of people were silent, still and crying. I don’t think that I’ve ever been to a show where people showed more respect. Everyone was kind of in awe.

Love this video. It allows Cat's charisma to shine through, unfiltered, and in some of the scenes, it seems as if she might just become lighter than air and float away. But of course she stays earthbound.

Cat Power is authentic, fun, highly energetic, cooler than cool, & so damn talented.
She is one of the best singer-songwriters of her generation...she is really good. If too many people discover her, the magic might be broken...then again, maybe not!

She is talented. But that is not her appeal. Her appeal is her soul and honesty. Listening to her oldest albums can be a brutal experience but only in the best way. A good example of this would be the song ‘ice water.’

I love this woman (Chan Marshall). I fell in love with her voice back in the 90's and still in love with it. And when I first saw her back then and how beautiful she was I think i fainted. She still looks damn good, too.

Im ashamed to say,as a huge music fan,ive just discovered her,and im now 51.She has gone straight to the top,of my all time list.I listen to her,and watch her videos,and interviews,all day.Its strange watching her whole career,and worsening mental state,in fast forward.I now suffer from mental illness,but its opened up my outlook on the world,and hopefully like Cat,made me a better person.I love her song Willie Deadwilder,in particular.She is beautiful,and gives me hope.
Music definitely helps with mental illness and depression. Cat Power is great, I love her version of Fortunate Son, also the song 'Blue' from the album Jukebox. I discovered her from a song called 'Always On My Own' and the album 'Sun' a few years ago. I love all of the songs on that album, especially 3,6,9. Listening to Cat Power, Bjork, Miss Li, Japanese Breakfast, Tatu, Clawfinger, (Clawfinger = Tatu and Rammstein together) really helped me as I was getting thrown out of the country, my home, that I was living in and losing everything.
Just love this women's music and style.
