I also greet moped riders and even the 3-wheel riders get greetings! As you said it. It's not important what you ride, its important that you ride! So, greetings to all from Austria 🇦🇹! Ride save!

I will say, the part about learning more how to ride is partly true, on a larger cc bike, you don't have to downshift or upshift as much riding through corners and slower roads. On an r6, you can stay in 2nd or 3rd gear, while when I was riding my r3, i would be going from 5th, to 3rd, up to 4th, and back down again. It allows you to learn the functionality of the entire bike.

  • @speeddemon6709

I'm India, here 150-400 cc bikes are seen as normal, like others see a 600-1000 cc bikes, anything more than single cylinder is so rare. owning a family car is more cheaper than a higher cc bike. Even i ride a 220 cc air cooled bike☹️ even 200 cc bike is more than necessary for the crowded indian roads

    • @ThaSideWeed
      @ThaSideWeed 3 ปีที่แล้ว +27

It's a misconception. Owning a 600-1000cc bike is more expensive than a low end family car wherever in the world you look, if you use them roughly the same amount.
No real point in having a high hp/displacement bike in very crowded countries.
It's really good fun though :)

Side benefit is you save a lot of $ on tires, my R1s, MT10s, and SuperDuke all shredded them. Actually all my bikes 600cc and above did.

Honestly, I absolutely adore my 125cc and I never have to explain myself to people. But I will, just because I live it so much I want people to experience it too!
Because when I ride up to the shops on my nearly silent bike, on 17in wheels with crazy ground clearance but a low seat height I can just jump the curb, ride through the ditch, jump the sidewalk and cut through to the backstreet to avoid traffic when I leave.
At ANY point while I'm riding I can go "oh, that looks fun." and immediately go ride up or down a set of stairs, through a closed school campus and cut between houses at 3am as a shortcut.
When I'm done having hooligan fun I can easily do 60mph to keep up with traffic safely on my way home on all 45mph streets.
It costs me 1$ per week on gas if I'm really shredding and riding 24/7.
My particular bike has a semi automatic first gear, so I can leave it in 1st at a light and take my hands off the clutch to adjust myself, stretch or whatever and then just twist and go when the light turns and shift into second without having to "tippy tap" back and forth to shift in an out of first any time my balls itch at a stop. This is honestly worth everything else. I wish every single bike had a semi auto 1st gear. No stalling, it's easy to teach and learn on, and it's incredibly convenient.
My bike is seriously lightweight and maneuverable and I can just pick it up and move it over in the garage, hop up a curb and park on the side of the shop, or easily maneuver and park on uneven ground.
I'll say that daily life with my small bike is absolutely amazing. The convenience, fun, and affordability are above any other bike I've ridden, owned or seen. You just can't beat it.
    I'll also go into negatives.
On occasion I do wish I had some wind protection, but naked bikes be like that tho.
I've had about 3 occasions where I really wished I had more power, but I I don't risk situations like I would on a 1000cc bike. I'm not dumb, I know I can't jump on the highway, but I never do anyway... I live in deep suburbs where 45mph streets are it. Our biggest road has a 55mph limit. I'm good.
I can't load up for camping or take passengers because I lack power and wind protection. That honestly sucks, but my Versys 300 works for that.
Basically, don't hate on small bikes! They definitely shine in the right situations!
If you like big bikes, that's cool too! We like what we like. Just don't insult someone for liking something else or not being able to afford something.
We all ride for our own reasons, and every bike is someone's favorite. Don't be rude. Your bike is trash to someone else too, just like mine. Just remember were al riders and family! Kids on trainers, old guys on trikes and chicks on pink bikes. Everyone deserves respect!
If you ride something that's typically picked on, shout it out! Mine is a modified Kymco K-Pipe 125, I've got light engine work, handguards and 70/30s on it, and I've crashed it 20 times and she's indestructible and reliable! I LOVE my bike. Kymmy gets more ass time than my Suzuki, my Versys and my scooters combined!

    True story time.
I pulled up to a fuel station and parked next to a guy on a tricked 650 on my 125. I parked at the pump just cuz and when I came out we talked and he kept making jokes and I told him the truth, I love my bike because it's way more fun for me than anything a big bike offers. Then while he was filling his tank, I started my silent bike and he said "no gas?" I said, "nope. Haven't needed it since last week and won't for another 50 miles or so. I'm good! Haha" (in my best sarcastic fuel nerd voice) and he laughed and said "Well, mine is worth the cost of fuel and can do anything that bike can but better! lol" and I just went, "We'll see about that. Ride safe! Seeya." and proceed to drive perfectly straight from the store, ride up the curb, weave around the poles protecting the propane tank, turned down the side of the storeline where he could still see, dropped down the curb into the ditch rode through and up the other side, jumped that curb, then a median, crossed the street, up that curb, across the field, down the next curb and onto the street. I went from the shop, strait in a B line for the back street across the main road all without breaking stride or slowing down. I turned to face him and he was laughing hysterically waving and yelling and doing that finger whistle I wish I could do and walked back to his bike and we flashed our brights at eachother in mutual respect as he pulled out and lifted the front tire and hit 100mph in no time flat down the empty road, his bike screaming for victory the whole way! (It was a beautiful sounding bike.. a damn nice exhaust kit, whatever it was.. worth the $$)
I earned his respect, he earned mine, and we both made a friend at a fuel station at 2am. I see him around occasionally and we wave and honk or flash and about a month ago I saw him at home depot in the parking lot at his truck and he told me he bought a Honda Monkey because of me and he's having a blast customizing it. Nice! I got another one! Lmao
If you see this, I love ya Douglas! Ride safe bro!
    Have fun monkeying around town.

I ride a gsxr1000 and I get 300 riders trying to race me all the time. The funnest part of it is that I wait until they are in a full tuck and tapped out at 90mph and while I’m still in second gear pull a wheelie and leave them in the dust.

Since I live in Germany I don't really see 300cc bike as a beginner bike because we can ride a moped with 15 and a 125cc bike with 16 so a 300cc bike is higher up in the bike hierarchy. You got to wait until you're at least 20 (you'll have to have owned the 300cc license for at least 2 years) or 24 (if you haven't got 300cc license) to get your big motorcycle license.

I have a RC390 with a Duke handlebar conversion and love my bike. Friends from India helped me deal with any quarks or questions I have. I happy with this bike and styling is great as its different and unique. Everyone has their own opinions and what they like. Ride what you want and enjoy it!!

meanwhile India: you can get a licence for a 50cc moped at 16.... also India: doesn't sell a single road legal bike under 50cc (even eBay engine kits for cycles are 66cc) and they wonder why people ride scooters without a licence

There are people who compares 300-400 cc motorcycles with 40 horsepower as a beginner bike and complains that it's slow, and then there's people who are scared to buy a 40 something horsepower motorcycle because they are too powerful to start on and scared that they may not be able to handle such a powerful bike due to the lack of training in training schools and such.
When you're living in a country where you'll get a licence if you can drive in an 8 pattern on a 50cc moped, even a 30hp bike is scary. I am 21 years old rn, and was thinking of getting a license and buying a nice bike like the Royal Enfield interceptor 650, but then I'm super scared to buy one cus it makes near to 50 horsepower and the riding school training is basically done on a slow 50cc moped. I was even considering to get a second hand 200-250cc bike with 25 ish HP so I can atleast learn to handle half of the horse power that I have to control on an interceptor. Is there any guidance that anyone can give on riding a 50hp bike?

I ride a 125cc bike and I really don't get why smaller capacity bikes get this amount of hate: they're lighter, more economical both in fuel consumption and taxes and you can thrash them without going over the limit. I've travelled for 1200km last summer on my bike and yes, it was tough, but I had a hell of a solo trip.

We are not allowed to have more than 160 cc bike due to CC limit.
300 cc is like a dream for us 🤣.
    It’s considered superbike in Bangladesh

It doesn't matter how many cc your bike is , If someone owns a super bike it doesn't make them any better than the person who is riding any lower cc bike , because eventhough you have a super bike when you see a turn or a speed breaker you should slow your bike ....I personally own a 180 cc bike that doesn't mean i don't like my ride and i don't enjoy riding , as a matter fact i love every moment with baby ride .The thing is if love riding it doesn't matter how many cc your bike is, you cherish every moment with it and will feel badass with it.

I'm riding a Vitpelin 401 which is a Duke 390 with clip-ons, adjustable suspension and very different styling. It's my first bike and I love it. It's beautiful, damn fun, and realistically as fast as anything driving close to legal limits... but who doesn't also want something that can keep up with a hyper car. I just know if I got something crazier, I'd do crazier things... I don't know if I'll sell my Vitpelin, if I have the choice I'll keep it and get something that should only be on the track.... and then an ADV bike.... and then....

I heard this all the time from litre bike riders that you don’t need to change gear that often and the engine does not explode if you keep the revs low. Isn’t changing gears and redlining the fun part of riding (and driving)? I do agree it’s very annoying in traffic. But 300cc is really what everyone needs in terms of power output.

Learned to ride on THE 650 on/off BMW. It made want to be a rider..I took my first REAL fall on that bike, the first time I picked a bike up was that heavy ass thing, I could barely touch the ground with the tips of my shoes to keep it standing because I was 15 years old. Rode in dirt for hundreds of kilometers, rode in country roads and learned how to trail brake before I knew what "trail braking" meant, learned to drag the rear brakes for u-turns and shit before there was a youtube tutorial about everything etc.. Now my first bike will be a vintage srx400...that is awesome to ride, so simple and elegant mechanically that I can take it apart myself, was recently restored to practically near mint condition and is really REALLY good lookin.. So yeah whatever...
